Her world was black and white, from the muted gray and black colors of the cell, to the starchy white clothing on her body. Glossy red liquid stood out against everything in stark contrast to the ugly prism Reyna had retreated to in her mind. She stared at her hands in horror, her brain attempting to refocus and line up the shaky images; attempting to restore the innocence of a girl whose worst crime used to be eating cookies before dinner. The other mutant lay opposite of her; Reyna had retreated to the farthest corner after the test, his screams of mercy still rang in her mind and slowly her hands went from in front of her to clutching her skull, her blue eyes changing to a crimson that matched the blood.
"Come on Kitten, it's time to leave." A newer nickname her scientists (not to be confused with the possessive tense, in fact, it was quite the opposite. They owned her) had taken to calling her ever since they discovered that Bloody Mary was bad luck and in fact, quite real. It only took one to lift Reyna from the corner and yet three entered the dank room that smelled of iron. "She's anemic," one observed as Reyna was lowered onto the stretcher. She curled onto her side and held out her hands as one carefully wrapped the gloves around her delicate and slender fingers. This was more of a physiological method than any for Reyna didn't need her hands or ligaments to manipulate, she simply needed to think.
In small bursts color returned as they wheeled her out of the awful room and towards the infirmary where they would hook her port up to an iron supplement. Her stomach growled and all Reyna really wanted was a warm shower and a bowl of soup. Of course there would be no shower or food until after all the tests were complete and despite the growl in her stomach and how loud and prominent it was, all they would give her was IV fluid and maybe a cup of water to qualm the pangs.
The doctor arrived shortly after them and began to hook up an abundance of tubes to the port in her chest, it was a small round device that went directly to her heart to ensure that Reyna couldn't pull it out, not that she could with the gloves on anyways. When they had tried regular IV's and picclines, Reyna had used her blood manipulation to push them out almost instantly, thus leading them to put in a port.
The feeling of cold fluid rushing straight to her heart was enough to bring the girl out of her state of shock. She sat upright, fully aware and attempted to take the tubes out. Instantly a set of hands came down on top of hers and guided them away, the iron supplement was almost finished and when the flusher that came after ran out she would be whisked away to yet another test. "Now, now, Kitten it's almost done. Then we can take you to the next assignment. You've been chosen for special training." Unsure as to what this meant, Reyna leaned back against the gurney that had now been put into an upright position.
"Does that mean I can eat now?" She questioned, drawing giggles from the scientist and two guards that had been tasked with watching over her. The bag emptied and with no answer to her question, Reyna was taken to the next test.
