Holly was still in a bit of a daze as she followed Cara through the streets and finally down a flight of stairs to a subway stop. She would occasionally take the subway with Hailey when they needed to deliver something of Nick's to the other side of the city and felt like it was too great a distance to walk. With the past winter being especially brutal, they had spent even more time using it, so Holly was familiar enough with how it worked. There were times during the day when the cars were so crowded that people were pressed against each other and it always overwhelmed Holly, but not always in a bad way. She loved looking at all of the different people, although some of them were fairly strange, but there were frequently people who didn't appreciate her seemingly intrusive but genuinely only curious questions. Hailey would warn her to keep to herself, especially when they were carrying large amounts of drugs and didn't want any unnecessary attention, but with Holly being Holly, she always found it hard to not talk to people who seemed interesting.

Now that it was nighttime, there were only a handful of other people in the car that Cara led her into, so Holly had little to entertain herself with. "Where's your dad's house? Is he nice?" she questioned. If Cara had spoken about her home life, which she probably had, Holly hadn't been paying attention. Holly and Hailey had never met their own father but their mother made a point to trash talk the unknown man whenever she had the opportunity to. Besides her absentee father, the two other major boyfriends that her mother had both used her and Holly to deliver illegal drugs to people, and one sexually abused her multiple times. Between all of that, the whole "father figure" role had never been properly filled in her life, so she wasn't sure what to expect of Cara's dad.

Feeling a sudden but small burst of energy, Holly stood from the bench she and Cara had been sitting on and clutched the metal pole a few feet away. It was there for the passengers who couldn't find a seat when the car was overcrowded, but since there was nearly no one sharing the car with them now, Holly took the liberty to grip it with one hand and spin around a few times. "I could be like, Brooklyn's twin, right?" she asked with a giggle. It was amusing for a few minutes, but she had enough sense to stop when she began to feel dizzy. "Will your dad have lemonade at his house because I'm dying of thirst," she claimed dramatically, returning to her seat next to Cara.
