Welcome to Oyra, the lands of humans, shapeshifters and vampires. Amongst all sagas, legends and tales there was one untold one, a story that might have changed whole Oyra if it dared to go its way, spreading all through the lands like fire. It was a tale of a creature feared by many, yet hunted by the ignorant; they call him Kage, or 'Demon'. He is a mixture of a vampire and a shape shifter, a something that did not belong in either categories. And to top it all, shapeshifters and vampires since long are known as sworn enemies and thus the decision was naturally that he, the demon, was seen as enemy to the both of them. In result, the creature lived a lonesome life, feeding off the animals of the forest. Alone. Never welcoming any company. As company was nothing he ever connected with anything positive. In the first case, nothing seemed pleasant in his life, everything dark and dangerous, with no apparent reason. He was missing the objective he could strive for, something that differed life and death more, than simply breathing. There had to be something, even for him, right? It was a question never to be answered. Until that day which changed everything.
It was a forest vastly avoided, by humans, by shapeshifters even by vampires. A place very far off the city, up to the hill where the weather is doing whatever it desired, fluctuations as expected were only empty talk - no one could ever foresee what will happen next in that one forest. From above you'll only see the branches of the trees who are densely and close to each other more than anything else. Within you'll meet only darkness, hollowness and silence of the death. It was surely a tough thing for the sunlight to penetrate those little spaces inbetween, so the ground was nothing more than mud in the forest. Small plants like flowers were rarely spotted. It is because of this condition, it created the perfect place for shy inhabitants who prefer darkness and mud as its living environment. And that included Kage.
Although Kage definitely preferred a normal, peaceful forest, he couldn't take the risk to reside there. He felt in this place was something where he belonged, a place avoided, feared and hated; a place that was like him. The utter silence made him calm, the sinister and the atmosphere of doom at home. There was no where else he could relate to, no where else he could find hold on. He found himself secure in a little cave he found within the heart of the forest and took it as its own. It felt like he had something in comparison to before. However, he still played with his life carelessly, knowing no one would be sorrow for his death - no, he even imagined some being happy about him gone. Unfullfilling, depressing and not even close to anything happy was his life he lived. Simply unworth and hollow.
It was another day, another day of the endless cycle he followed everyday. Time, for a hunt. Kage was not someone who enjoyed killing; it wasn't particulary anything he looked forward too. Instead, he loved to hunt. Within the 'dark' forest, he had always difficulties to find a good prey, and that counted to the excitement once he smelt one despite. That day, he for the first time doubted his ever-so-dependable muzzle. What was it, which scent did he just caught? A boar? Even for Kage, the smell was very attractive. After all, it was a delicacy to a wolf... how alluring.
The question what a boar was doing inside the forest he left without notice; suddenly only his instincts worked and he started to run. Run towards the boar who had no time to escape. The strength of his four legs were admirable, like the big gray wolf the largest of all but only in white, Kage ran with admirable speed only one thing in mind. Made it look like an obsession... and with one strong jump he landed on that small thing, grabbed it with his paws and locked it on the ground. He caught it. He succeeded! It mattered little to him that the boar was really small, and was about to eat it right away...
