Rina tapped her fingers against her thigh as she waited, so far nothing too exciting had happened. There had been a fight outside, but it was ended swiftly. It wasn't rare for fights to happen before a tournament, mostly it was rookies who had little experience attempting to gain an advantage by ganging up on a more powerful opponent. It rarely worked though, normally they were taken out quickly. The one who was attacked was the one you should look out for, and that's exactly what Rina planned on doing. The chances of them facing each other were slim, so she'd take note of his weaponry and attack patterns when he was fighting others. It's always an advantage to know your opponents skills.
The nude man, well, formerly nude man, returned wearing a kimono. Likely borrowed from somewhere, unless he robbed someone that is. Even fully clothed Rina couldn't take him seriously, showing up to a tournament naked is something only a complete imbecile would do. He would likely strike out in the first round, a tournament like this was no place for messing around. He wasn't the only one Rina disregarded though. A man who appeared old enough to be her father walked in, at first she thought he might be lost. An old man like him couldn't possibly take on a much more agile young person. It was nothing personal, just a fact.
Rina was a bit startled by the loud voice calling them into the tournament area, but she followed anyways. When she reached the tournament area she was asked to line up. She'd much rather stick towards the back where she was less visible, but she reluctantly fell into the line, not wanting to cause trouble so early on in the tournament.
The speaker was exactly as she expected, rather large and dressed in expensive armor. He did unsettle her slightly though, his smile was the same forced almost menacing smile she had seen on her clients many times before. He was up to something, and it wasn't good. She considered leaving for a moment, but her doubts were dashed as he showed them the gold. Some foolish bandits decided to make grab for it, but the general took them down without batting an eye. Though he offered a moment for questions, he didn't give a chance for any to be asked before he called for the tournament to commence. Rina sprung backwards in an attempt to put as much distance between her and the others, it would be easier for her to win if she struck first.
