A loud cannon could be heard from a distance, obviously signalling the start of the tournament, or there was a war going on either way Yamato was prepared this time enough fooling around now's the time to play it cool. He's first opponent a Yokai, and a big one at that the Yokai resembling the Minotaur from the Greek myths quite a lot actually, but it wasen't a sweat Yamato had seen worse he once fought with a high ranked samurai from the Yagu family this wasn't a threat
. Yamato drew his blade, his blade was a very beautiful silver color, it's sheathe look very plain and was made from leather, this was to stop from anyone to take interest in it. But anyone with a fine eye or a good samurai could see that this was a well crafted Katana. Yamato went to square up with the Yokai, Yamato only reaching the chest of him was slightly disappointing but no matter he thought it wasn't all about size.
The short man in the middle gave for the signal to start the match, by putting his hand down and shouting a loud ''HOI!'' Naturally, the Minotaur looking beast swung a heavy Naginata at Yamato, but Yamato jumped back avoid the killer-blade. The minotaur went for a charge at Yamato, but Yamato's speed was simply too much for the Beast and yamato slid right through the creatures legs the plan was to tire him out and finish him. But all of a sudden the Yokai's eyes started to glow a fiery red colour, as if he had gone into some beserker rage and the Yokai swung down upon Yamato with all his might, luckily he just chopped off his kimono as Yamato had reacted before the Yokai even started to think of swinging he then went to the back of the Yokai and readied his sword the Yokai had turned around and swung the blade, but Yamato jumped on the Naginata and looked the Yokai in the face for a split second and gave him a ugly smile, he then jumped off the Naginata and gave him the Yokai a fierce blow to the chest tearing it apart, spilling blood all over his and The Yokai's face, 3 seconds later the Yokai dropped over....Dead...
The reason Yamato had such a strong blow, was because he was taught a style that encouraged you to defeat your oppoent in one blow the style being a hard one to teach it was a dojo style by the name of Ono-ha Itto-ryu a, Yamato's mentor taught him this and ever since his never bothered to learn a new one it had helped him all his life and he had no need for a other one.
The referee was unsure about the killing of the Yokai, and obviously had innocent eyes so he looked to the General if he should be allowed to continue, the general gave him a nod indicating that it's fine. After all, the General needed fighters not cowards. The whole of the group was standing looking at Yamato, as if he just finished a entire buffalo.
Yamato was never once to brag about his fighting abilities so he just went to his bench at sat down continuing on as if he had not just taken a life. The referee declared Yamato the winner of the match, and then announced there's only 4 other places left in the semi-finals in which the other groups would be joined in. Yamato sighed, he had to face even stronger opponents then before not that this Yokai was not well trained he was sloppy and slow, he relied to much on his brawn's and that's why Yamato got the better off him. He then dozed off from his group and started to watch the rest of the teams, searching for his biggest threat.
