"Ya know, you really suck at this, E."
The empty water bottle had bounced off the rim of the trash can, right before it unceremoniously fell to the ground. Astra snickered at Eden, before effortlessly making a clean shot into the trash can. "Show off" she grumbled before turning away from Astra. "Hey, it's not my fault you just happen to absolutely terrible at trashketball." She shrugged. "Now I see why you never tried out for any sports teams. Can't even throw a water bottle into the trash. Sad and pathetic."
It was a little before school was supposed to start that they were hanging out together in the courtyard. The earliest signs of autumn were started to show, the green leaves gaining just the slightest hint of orange, some of them already beginning to fall off the tree branches into small piles on the ground.
Though truly, trashketball it was an immature game for them to be playing at the time, given that they were about to be college freshmen. But that wasn't much of deterrent to them. However, it was always more than a little annoying whenever the teachers bugged her constantly.
And one was about to do just that.
"For the last time you two, trash is meant to be thrown away, not played with like it's a toy." A teacher had said to the Astra and Edan as they walked up to them. Funny how it was always the same teacher bothering her about things. 'Just shut up and leave already' Eden had inwardly groaned, but on outside she smirked at the teacher. "But we are throwing the trash away!" she quipped, before throwing another empty water bottle into the trash can, actually making it this time. "See?" Eden grinned. Astra chuckled at her friend's sarcasm, "You really did sign yourself up for that joke, Teach." The teacher began to say something else but quickly stopped themselves before walking away, shaking their heads. Astra stuck her tongue out at them as they left.
"So, you still getting those weird packages?" She questioned, leaning against the brick wall next to them. "Yeah...still can't figure out who or where they're coming from." Eden ran a hand through her hair and let out a frustrated sigh. "And it's not like that little stake out we did in front of your doorway didn't help out either. Why did you come up with such a terrible idea anyway?" In response, she only received a glare from Eden. "That was your idea, I really only went along with it because it was the only thing we could do. There was a moment of silence between the two of them. "Ya know, I've never really seen you this worked up over something before, but try not to worry about it too much before classes start. Speaking of classes, hurry up, we're gonna end up being late."
"Alright Alright, calm down I'm coming," Eden said as she picked up her backpack. Walking off, Eden had shoved Astra into the way of the trash can, knocking both her and the trash can over. "Okay, that was just rude. I know you're still pissy over losing the game, but you don't have to be violent about it."
Astra stood up and dusted herself off, before jabbing Eden with her elbow. "By the way, have you met the new transfer student yet? I think her name started with a J?
"No, I haven't met her, much less know what her name is. There's too many to keep up with and the school year barely started. How did you even find out her na-? You know what, never mind. Knowing you, you're probably stalking the poor girl.
Astra scoffed, "Hey, I can be creepy, but I'm not stalker-level creepy...at least I don't think I am.
