Jenga looked back at Haven as she was running, sheer disbelief on her face as she watched her coworker risking her life for an emotional idiot. Annoyance flared up into her face as she looked to the other father, who was giving her a deer-in-the-headlights look. She growled for him to get it, and looked at the driver, a teenage boy. "I swear if you drive off without her I will kill you, and then let the zombies have you," She growled, pointing a finger. "But the lady said drive off if she didn't come back soon!" One of the wives said. "I don't care what she said! She's my only friend now, and I am not leaving her behind!" Jenga snipped.
It felt like 30 minutes before Jenga saw Haven and the man running out from another door. Relief washed over her shivering body as she stood with the door open. She rushed them into the car before leaping in herself. When the car lurched forward she slammed the door shut, breathing heavily as she looked to Haven. "Is everyone okay?" She asked, pushing wet strands of hair out of her face. Everyone nodded, all of them looking like wet kicked puppies. With her heart beat going down, Jenga started to realize how rude and frantic she must of seemed to the family's. "Sorry... For yelling, and stuff... I got scared," She mumbled to one of the fathers. He gave her a small smile, and a nod, understanding.

They had ben driving for at least an hour before they started to have problems with cars in the road, as well as zombies. They had pulled onto the highway, and instantly there was a car jam. Thousands of cars all blocked the road, and a few zombies that were the only ones there, seemingly, started to limp towards the van. Jenga glanced over to Haven with a frown, seeing that there was almost absolutely no way to go around the cars. "Our van can hardly handle unpathed driveways, no way it can handle a muddy, unkempt highway median," The teenager said to the girls. Jenga groaned, and looked out the window. The zombies were getting closer, all of them snarling and gurgling god knows what. "So we're taking this by foot, then?" Jenga mumbled, more to herself then anyone else. She grabbed her bag, and slung it over her shoulder, so the strap was across her chest. She then grabbed her lamp post like it was a spear, making sure the sharp end could pierce skin and bone. With a couple deep breaths, and making sure everyone else was ready, she opened her door and rushed out. Instantly she was assaulted with wind and stinging rain as she ran out, going straight for one of the dead and swinging her spear, one handed. She didn't bother killing it, the family's and them needed to not waist any time out in the open. She jogged for the side of the highway, which dropped steeply down into some woods. She looked back to see everyone following her, but by the time she noticed the sprinting zombie it was already too late. It tackled one of the children, who had gotten out of the van last. Jenga froze, her eyes going wide as the child screamed.
The teen who was driving, and right behind her, turned around to go and help the kid, but she grabbed his shirt collar and threw him over the side of the rail guard, yelling, "It's too late for them!" She looked back to see one of the fathers had gone to the child's aid, only to get tackled by at least 3 more zombies. A mother and her toddler were grabbed as well, and Jenga was almost tackled, if she hadn't looked to her side. A zombie ran straight at her, causing her to flinch, her arms coming up to protect her face. The spear, still in her hand, went right between her in the zombie, impaling its head onto the end. The zombie instantly went limp. Eyes still wide, Jenga struggled to get the man off the end of her pole, but with a foot smashed into its lower head the spear jolted free. Quickly she ushered a mother and Haven over the rail guard and down into the woods, glancing back one more time to see a hoard of zombies after them. Her fear spiking, Jenga leapt over the railing, falling about 5 feet before landing on the sloping hill that went into the woods. She skidded and rolled to a stop, quickly getting up and looking around. There was only four of them now, a mother, the teenage boy, Haven and herself. All of them looked at one another before hurriedly running into the woods.
