Not surprising, Oberon had followed Elena to spar. He almost never turned down a good training session. She quickly finished her stretches, and drew her sword and took a battle stance.
"Well, without further ado...." she lunged at Oberon with a fierce battle cry.
After a few brief hours, dawn was finally upon them. It had taken them an hour to march in formation to the designated choke point. After some hurried positioning of troops they began to wait. Elena was adorned in her full set of armor with her sword sheathed at her hip ready to draw to send her troops forward. She glanced over at Oberon first and saw him make eye contact with her. She gave him a reassuring grin before turning her attention back to the forest pathway. She squinted through the trees searching for any sort of movement, but the caravan was running behind schedule making Elena very anxious.
Come on... Where are you Zankor slime?
Then she saw it. The first wagon led in front by a squad of Zankor soldiers. More and more wagons appeared over the hill with troops marching along the sides. Although they were still in formation, the Zankorites were at ease and completely unsuspecting even to the point of talking among themselves. She tightened her grip on the handle of Radiance waiting for the last caravan to slip between the lines of their ambush.
This is it... This is where it truly begins. The last wagon passed the far right flank of their trap, and Elena pulled Radiance from its scabbard holding it high in the air. The early morning dawn caught the metal causing it to glow a bright gold. With a loud bellow she swung her blade forward.
"CHARGE FORWARD!"
With a loud resounding roar, the Orina rebels came crashing down out of the tree line and straight at the completely surprised Zankorites. Elena rushed forward as well slicing and slashing at any Zankorite unfortunate enough to cross her path.
