"J, wake up. Got an hour before the bus arrives."
"Wait, just one more waffle!" J called out as she rolled into her blankets. Then as she woke up and came to her senses she saw Lennox sitting on her bed. She frowned it was way to early be up on summer holidays. "Len, what are you doing here?" She asked as she rubbed her face, trying to wake herself up. "Oh right! You stayed over - And we have summer camp," J pouted and curled back into her bed. She had been looking forward to spending her summer sleeping in and lazing about at the skate park. Going off to a camp meant to solve the clique problem wasn't exactly on her summer holiday list. Besides J wasn't even sure her school had a clique problem.
Lennox left J to get ready. J got up but before getting changed she collapsed back on her bed and fell back asleep. It wasn't until Lennox music woke her back up that she realized the time. "Oh shiitake mushrooms!" J looked at the time and jumped up. She got changed into denim shorts and a crop top. J went to grab her bag and remembered that she hadn't packed last night, she'd decided to put off until the morning. So she just pulled a duffel bag out of her cupboard and starting throwing clothes into it. She wasn't even paying attention to what she was packing. Of course even if she'd had the time she wouldn't have paid much attention to what she was packing.
She rushed into the kitchen to see a plate of pancakes on the bench. Grinning she practically inhaled the pancakes, barely breathing before bites. Then she saw Lennox doing dishes. She gave him a dopey smile, "That was mine right?"
Then J and Lennox went out to wait for the bus on the driveway. J grabbed her skateboard on the way out. J looked back at her house and gave a sad sigh, already lamenting her lost summer. "C'mon, cheer up a bit. Things could always be worse."
J grinned up at Lennox. "S'pose so." Then she saw the bus approaching. "Could always be better though. Too late for a runner?" J laughed as she mimicked running away from the bus. Lennox and J both got on the bus, J taking the seat in front of him and Sam.
After arriving at camp, J stopped listening to the rules as soon as the counselor started talking. Though once they were dismissed Lennox took off and J smiled at Sam. She pointed herself then as Sam, "Roomies?" Then J headed off to a vacant cabin, claiming the bed next to the window for herself. She always liked to feel outdoors even when she was inside.
