Hailey turned to walk away, biting her lip at the weird confrontation. Weird. She took a few steps before a wild scream erupted a few alleyways behind the building next to her. The voice all to familiar. She jumped into a sprint, dashing through the alleyways and jumping over trashcans, she saw it before she heard it.

Two beautiful wings, much like her own but smaller, grey and gold were dangling from the back of the young boy she had met on the street seconds prior. He was currently being held up by the throat thanks to a low-level demon. His chest was bloodied and bare, and she couldn't tell if his arm was broken or not. His wings were draped with red and motionless. They should be defending him! Why weren't his wings fighting for him!?

She shrugged off her curiosity and horror before jumping into action. Pulling her demonic slaying knife from the inside of her jacket, she ran and skidded under the boy's dangling feet and through the demon's separated legs, cutting deeply into one of his thighs and causing him to howl in pain.

The boy dropped, but Hailey wasn't done. She spun on her back (like a breakdancer) and, putting her hand next to her head, pushed her feet into the demon's chin. While stunned with the sudden attack, she managed to stand and plung the dagger into his neck, where his body flashed yellow before she ripped the knife out, blood pouring from the wound as the demon's vessel collapsed to the ground, dead.
