Another came and caused a pain in her chest, making her gasp. Gripping her clothes tightly, she pushed on- ignoring the cat and placing her hands on the boy's back. White magic poured off her fingers and hung around under his skin. Blood was evaporating and his clothes were unfurling, becoming clean and neat. She could only assume his wounds were healing too.

Another bang hit the shield and it cracked but stayed firm. She let out a tired growl and turned on her feet, pushed herself up and flung out her hands. "That's enough!" the shield seemed to obey a silent command and flung outward, hitting everything in it's path and sending everyone into silence. Three young men stood off to the side, fighting fallen. The man had his hand outstretched, as if ready for another attack.

"Who are you!?" she screamed, and he blinked. And he blinked again. "You don't know me?" he asked. He sounded quiet from a distance, but she heard it. "No! Why do you look like my father, and where is all your power coming from if you are a fallen?!" she shouted back at him. He seemed to unfreeze and lower his hand. She felt the boy move beside her.
