"I could fall, or I could fly
Here in your aeroplane
I could live, or I could die,
Hanging on the words you said.
Oh, I've been known to give my all,
And jumping in harder than
Ten thousand rocks on a late."

"I don't give you my heart as easily as you'd like,
but still melt you with my lies
like a hot cocoa in the winter.
Had to tell you that I lied to you,
but you know I'm a pretender.
So let me tell you what's on my mind.
I'm sorry I can't be that guy
Don't expect too much from me."

Jaxon's dark brows furrowed together at the sight of Chantel, her face and words leaving a bitter taste in his mouth that he had long since forgotten. What he had done? The phrase repeated itself in his head, pulling out a bitter chuckle from the platinum haired male. She really had the nerve to say something like that in front of Noah? He opened his mouth to speak, but the abruptness of his shirt being clutched onto stopped him mid-thought. The drink in his hand fell to the ground with the echoing sound of shattering glass while Jaxon's eyes locked on Jayson's. "Oh, I have waited for the day to see you again, boy." Finally, as if puzzle pieces being put together, Jaxon matched the familiar face to the voice and his face contorted into something between annoyance and disgust before a cynical smirk took over. "Well you've got me now, sweetheart. What's the game plan?"
Jayson may have been the golden boy of Westview once upon a time, but his reflexes left a lot to be desired. IN the time it took him to plan his punch, Jaxon managed to maneuver himself away enough for the clenched first to hit his jawline instead of his nose where it had been aimed. He had more than half a mind to throw a few punches of his own, had Noah not stepped in between them, catching Jaxon's fist mid-air. "Alright, that's enough!" the blonde's voice came deeper and more demanding than Jaxon had ever heard it be. He took a step back, his right hand rubbing against his jaw bone where it had been hit as his eyes fixated on the too tall male in front of him. "Punching someone over something that happened over ten years ago? How petty can you get?" Jaxon could feel Noah shift uncomfortably next to him, but at this point what Noah thought mattered zero. He'd been attacked first, and he'd be damned if he left with his head down and tail between his legs. Jaxon may have had changed since high school, but his pride was still very much present. "And you, princess." he spat sarcastically, his fire-filled glare turning in Chantel's direction. "You really have some nerve to bring up what I did back then when what you did to Noah wasn't any better."
"Jax, don't, it's okay-"
"No, no it's not okay. Or have you forgotten all the shit I watched you go through because of her?" his glare now turned on Noah, who seemed to shrink under his gaze despite being a couple of inches taller. Of course he hadn't forgotten, not a single second of it. When Chantel left, she took Noah's entire world with her. He had been head over heels from the second they started dating, willing to do anything and everything for her, but she clearly hadn't felt the same when she turned her back and left him standing the airport gate entrance. He'd been devastated, heartbroken, with no motivation to do anything in life, and as unlikely as it seemed now, Jaxon had been the one to pull him out of that. Not only that, but the only reason Jaxon had come tonight was because of him. Noah wanted to say this, not only to Jaxon, but to Chantel. He wanted to let her know how badly she had destroyed him both inside and out, but the words were stuck in his throat and all he could do was stare in her direction.
He heard Jaxon sigh loudly beside him, barely giving him enough time to pull his gaze away from chantel to watch Jaxon's blonde head walking towards the auditorium doors. "Jaxon! Where are you going?" but the blonde didn't bother answering, because as much as he cared for Noah now, if he attempted to speak there's no doubt he would end up cursing him out along with the others.
