Izaya stirred from his sleep as the car slowed down and climbed onto the side of the road; Further wakening as he felt the Unagiās tires rolling across loose earth and heard the sound of someone exiting the vehicle. Eyes opening slightly, he took a brief look around and found that he couldnāt really see a damn thing. Apparently heād been out for a while. Hopefully Ru had managed to get them a decent distance away from Ba Sing Se before stopping, for whatever reason.
Why had they stopped, actually? What was going on? Who had gotten out? Had Ru finally passed out from fatigue? Were they setting up camp somewhere for the night? Were they under attack from weird men dressed in drag, again? Straightening himself out, Izaya gave a quick look around and accessed their situation, doing his best to answer his own questions before his mind crept further into its exhaustion-fueled paranoia.
Well, things were definitely looking differentā¦ Clearly theyād left the city pretty far behind. Not a speck of Ba Sing Se, or its lights, was to be seen in the horizon. Really, not a speck of light was to be seen anywhere, save for the stars above. Wherever they were, they were far from any form of civilization. Ruād apparently done his jobā¦ Though, hopefully they had headed in the right direction; His partner had a habit of getting them horribly lost whenever they drove. Though, with the simple directions of āGo southā, how could he have fucked up?
Rubbing the side of his head, and eventually his eyes, Izaya tried to wake himself up and get his brain back to functioning order. As is, he barely even remembered getting into the car, or passing out in the backseatā¦ Everything that had happened in that garage was now something like a blur to him. He seemed to vaguely remember watching some chick tossing guns into his trunk, and a weird little furry monster thing laying in the car as heād gotten inā¦ But heād been too exhausted for either of those things to phase him. Now that heād gotten a bit of sleep, maybe heād be able to at least confirm that either of those had happened.
Peeking through his fingers, at Chiyo, Izaya was greeted with the sight of her petting the same little furry monster heād seen in his delirious stateā¦ Though, it was not exactly a monster. It looked exactly like a badgermole -Only, not ten feet tall, as most adults were. A baby, maybe? Where the hell had she gotten a baby badgermole? How had it gotten in the car, before they had even gotten in? And if it existed, where the hell was the crazy chick with the guns?
Pulling his hands away from his eyes and looking forward, Izaya got his answer. Sitting on top of his carās newly fixed hood was the same chick that had āhelpedā them with the car thieves, earlier.
āWhere did you get that, and why is she here?ā Izaya asked Chiyo before yawning and giving a great stretch. āAlso, where are we and why did we sto- Ah?" He stopped short, as he noticed that she had her forehead pressed against the window, her mopey reflection reflected in the glass. "Hey, are you okay?"
