Interacting With: Mel and DJ Bennett
As she left her room, Elle received a text from Mel. She sighed and typed out her response: Ok. Have fun but please be safe and don't get into trouble. After she sent it she went down the hall to Avery's old room, which was now a dual office space for her parents. Her father was sitting at his desk, typing away. "Dad, I'm going over to Mel and DJ's for awhile. Mom said it's fine." He gave her a small "mhmm" as he continued typing.
Walking back down the hall towards the stairs, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She checked it and it was a text from DJ. She couldn't blame him for wanting to keep tabs on Mel. She'd been hanging around Lex as of late and that could only spell trouble, at least in Elle's opinion. She descended the stairs and said goodbye to her mom, purposefully omitting that her plans had changed. As soon as she got to the door, she got another text.
After reading it she smiled, thinking of the good old days when the three (or four when Avery was still there) of them would just hang out for hours without any of this elite nonsense. She walked outside of her house and saw DJ out on the sidewalk.
"So if I want to go to Antartica or the moon, you'll take us there?" she asked as she walked out to meet him. "Because it's truly been my dream to become a human popsicle." She gave him a quick hug. Though tempted to ask why he had his backpack, she couldn't help but feel that it'd be a bit hypocritical when she herself had brought a drawstring bag.
"So, shall we journey into the den of---?" She stopped as she noticed a taxi coming down the street. She quickly hailed it before turning back to DJ. "Lions. I was going to say lions." Elle opened the door and climbed into the back seat, scooting to the far side so that DJ could get in. Her mouth opened to tell the driver where to go, but she realized that she didn't actually know the address. She looked to DJ, hoping that he knew.
