Nyleria smiled when Quentin commented on having woken her from her nap. That was definitely one way of putting it... "Let me just go and braid my hair quickly. I shouldn't be long at all - Mayelle, sweetheart, would you like to come with me or stay here and entertain Uncle Q?" she asked. She'd always been a huge believer in giving children choices rather than telling them what needed to be done, so even when it came to little things, she liked to give Mayelle as much autonomy as she could. Mayelle was quiet for a moment, thinking it through. "I think I'll stay here," she said, and Nyleria nodded. "Of course, sweetheart. I won't be long at all," she said before heading into her room and beginning to get to work on twisting her red hair into a braid.
