Gangrin turned to Jong, his arms folded. "What do you mean?"
"You're a doctor but you can't practice medicine, you waste your days delivering weed to slumlords," Jong muttered to the man casually. "I'm part of D.U.S.K... yes, we're back, and very soon we will need a new leader." The man paused, adjusting in his chair. "And I need someone who I know can stitch me up... and watch my back."
"Are you... offering me a job?" Gangrin blinked. "As a cop?"
"I'm offering you a job as an assistant... to the Chief Inspector of D.U.S.K., Meon Jong," Jong blinked. "So are you in?"
Gangrin turned to his brothers, to their decaying home, to the posters on the wall. Of Luxemburg. Of Matterfall. "Why me?"
"You saved my life, and I think you can continue saving my life," Jong replied. "It's not gonna be safe, it's not gonna be easy. But it's something. And something's better than nothing."
