The gun wouldn't do much to help unless the target was less than two or so meters away since her aim was untrained; the closest she had gotten to a weapon like the one she now so instinctively grabbed was a one-hour long self-defense session years ago. But things had changed in a matter of hours and she had to learn to adapt quickly. The gun and the knife in her boot provided protection, so they stayed close to her.
With the area cleared from possible danger, Pelin sighed and allowed her body to relax some, placing the cold object back down to its original resting place.
"I'm good, thanks," Pelin said, nodding her head.
Contrary to Ree, the idea of coming across a human in need did not cross her mind. Pelin saw everything -and everyone- that she didn't understand or know as a threat. With the world sent into chaos, it was only natural that this mentality only heightened. Another human in their company would mean someone else she would need to protect herself from. If there was someone that knew about personality facades, it was her, after all.
Now fully conscious and realizing her mistake of falling asleep, Pelin reached out towards the dash for the map she had folded up. With the communication servers and internet down for three days now, it was impossible to navigate with the help of GPS. This also meant that she hadn't spoken to her family on the other side of the world. Her eyes scanned the words and colors across the paper. A line had been drawn to help them navigate their journey.
"We should be coming across a small town in a couple of hours," she said. "We can get gas and find a closed-in place for the night, if you want."
She didn't exactly like the idea of wandering into a town, but she knew that they should lock themselves up for the night. Plus, she was tired of sleeping in the car. It always felt too open, too exposed.
