Burning debris fel from the skies above, plunging deep into the ocean with a hiss. The pieces sunk, some slower than others, down to the depths of the Aegirs. Some landed on shallow sea cliffs, some fell further into trenches. One piece went all the way down.

There was a great rumble. The rumble created a ripple, which became a wave, which built as it ran out across the ocean. Eventually it stopped building, it started to die, but not all the way. If anyone was on the beach they’d notice a peculiar sort of wave that was bigger than the others, crash harder than the others, rise farther than the others. It had a air of impatience, as if something had been woken from a deep slumber.
