It was getting dark, and Jenniffer was getting more and more frustrated. She couldn't find Kali/Rita/whatever anywhere, and she didn't want to try to help the people out without her. Her "mask-form" seemed good with words, as well as... other things.
"Ugh, I'm so tired," Jenniffer said. "We need to find a good place to hole up."
Sure, but where? Voidbringer asked.
"I'm not sure... maybe my house? I haven't set foot in there in..." she paused. Had it really been only a day since the mask-forms started running amok? That crappy concert had felt like it was ages ago. "... a while. Besides, I doubt Red would expect me to sleep in there, considering my past history with the place."
Okay, lead the way.
Rather than flying to there, Jenniffer opened up a portal and flew in through there. She touched down on the wooden floor of the living room, still covered with blood and the eviscerated corpse of her father, and closed the portal behind her.
You should probably take a quick look around the room before setting up camp, Void said.
"Huh? Why?" asked Jen.
Ever since your friend the pizza boy let loose all the animals in the zoo, they've been running loose around this town. I even spotted two mask-forms getting gored by a hippo, while you were busy looking for Rita. It might do you good to search for any asps or such before bedding down, especially considering that there had formerly been a Bengal tiger in this house.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Jake. I wonder what happened to him. Last I knew, he'd gone and freed all the animals, and Mason and Alonis had gone off to rein him in. I wonder if they got him, or if..."
Or if he got them?
"... I don't know. He never really seemed like the type for killing. I mean, sure, his mask-form seemed to have the whole "freedom" spiel down, but I..." Jen groaned and held her head in her hands. "Ugh! I'm too tired to think. Why did everyone have to go and act like a bunch of flighty shitheads?"
However, Jenniffer did take a look around the house, and found no animals. She fortified the house with some subtle black hole walls (cleverly designed to look like shadows), but didn't bother removing her father's body - if she just left it there, then it would make the house look less suspicious.
Finally, she climbed up the steps and into her room, adding some more fortifications. She ate some of her food and drank some water and brushed her teeth. Afterwards, she slipped out of her clothing and into a shift, and took off her mask, setting it on the dresser. Oddly, the black holes remained, even after she was just Jen. Well, that's handy, she thought.
I'll be focusing my God Sense to make sure that nobody gets too close. I'll warn you if they somehow do.
"'Kay, thanks. G'night."
And with that, Jenniffer went to sleep.
