The message came to them just as the two made it above the GENOS Labs, ready to finish the fight once and for all. Callisto's order was to convince Grover to accept a conditional surrender. If she could be put under the military's supervision she'd be able to continue her work - just not to do evil as she did so. "Gotcha." Io knew her sister would be able to think of something. She was the genius after all, that was what the faint echoes of memories told her. She would never regain her memories fully, but sometimes a small hint would float in and out. The real Io was gone forever, but this one would live happy in her place where she might not be able to. "How do we do this?" Firis asked, the area was under careful supervision. Not to mention, people were banging on the fence, trying to break in.
"Obviously." Io giggled. "We do it with a bang." Firis sighed, shaking her head helplessly. "Fine, we'll do it your way, love. Let's get it done." Firis made her hand into a big fist and she punched through the roof with a flying start, landing amid the dust and debris with a roll and a fancy recovery post the roll. Yue felt dizzy after the roll but she returned to her senses. Security bots activated but they were mindless bots, meant to serve a single function. Because they lacked higher level thinking it was child's play to cut through them, Firis took care of it, letting Io save her single railgun shot just in case there was an emergency. She broke through to the final chamber where Grover was working on her code and Hymnos was watching the room where the former reprogrammed androids were being reprocessed.
She put the railgun to Grover's head. "Give it up." Io's voice was harsh, full of threats. "You won't hurt anyone anymore." Hymnos whimpered, knowing that she was unable to help, not again these two androids who were immune to her abilities. "You won't do it, Io." Grover sounded far too calm, too quiet. "Be a good girl and sit down. If you want Callisto to live, you have no choice." She typed something into the holographic keyboard and a camera image showed up of baby Callisto in the tube. "We eliminated all cancerous cell growth from the baby that would have eventually become cancer. It is now cancer immune." Grover said with a half smile. "I can transfer Callisto's mind to the baby and grant her a free life."
Io faltered, biting her lip. Now she really couldn't do it. But... she wasn't going to make the choice. That was the former Io's big mistake. "Callisto, did you catch all that?" Io rang her up, relaying all the info. "Grover bargains for her freedom. I'll let you make the choice." Follow the original plan, or take the deal and let Callisto live a human, healthy life? This was Cali's one chance to choose the life she wanted to lead - it was not for Io to make.
