“Welcome to Sanctuary, Dr. Calloway. I'm Ezekiel Jones, but everyone here calls me Zeke. Hopefully you'll enjoy your stay here, for however long that may be," he spoke, turning towards Vincent and the others. Aila nodded her head in response to Arthur's statement, though, and walked to the back to grab their order. She shuffled around the back, grabbing the pot that held the spider lilies, before pursing her lips together. She had over ordered in her excitement to help, and she doubted they needed more than two plantings worth. Then again... one could never have too many of their favourite flower, right? With that in mind, she grabbed the first pot and made her way back to the front.
“Here's the first order," she stated, placing the pot on the counter. Zeke raised a brow in her direction, almost in a manner that seemed to ask if she needed help. She shook her head, and walked to grab the second pot. “And here's an extra one, on the house, as a housewarming gift," she stated, placing the second one next to the first. Before she could say anything else, Zeke coughed lightly in his hands, causing Aila to turn her attention towards him. She pursed her lips together and made her way around the counter, pressing the back of her hand to his forehead.
“I'm fine, Ai," he stated as if reading her mind. Still, that didn't chase the concern from her face. He didn't seem fine, and they both knew it. “Don't mind me, I'm going to head back to the station," he stated, leaning away from her hand. “Hopefully, you won't need my service, but you know the number to call if you do," he stated, causing Aila to sigh heavily.
“You should at least see the doctor, Zeke," she muttered as he walked away.
“I just did," he replied, giving her a small wink causing her to snort softly. Once he left, Aila rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“What orders would you like to place? We have some seeds if you want to grow your own flowers, but depending on the breed, I might have to order them in," she replied, turning her attention back to the family. It was then that the front door chimmed again, and Adrien and Amaryllis appeared.
“Oh, good afternoon," he was the first to greet them, holding two bags of fertilizer that seemed to be at least fifty pounds each. Amaryllis wasn't too far behind, holding on to just one, and she smiled in the direction of the Calloways and Arthur.
