The soft and equally commanding words off the older Angel whispered through her senses like a river, bubbling and swirling, filling her with determination. She nodded and took a step, flashing before the young hunter in seconds.

"Do you not have your key?" She tilted her head up, almost like she could look down on him, "You realize you mortals have more sway over your own lives than you think? You've freewill. You've choices." She wouldn't allow him a step passed her, "Or would you turn your back on her too?" The implication of who's life was at stake here wasn't lost on him. "Did you forget the vision? What would happen once she's--"

"I get it!" He snapped, hands curling into fists. Averting his gaze his entire body turned rigid. "But if she mattered to you, why can't you protect her? Why can't you just fly her away until all this blows over?"

She gave him a sad smile in answer.

"All that power for what?" He hissed out, throwing his hands up, "just for fucking show?" Then he turned away from her and stormed toward the crypt.

Assaciel quirked a brow, well, that was progress.

Approaching him, the angel observed as he drew a thin switchblade across his palm and touched it to the stone. The blood was then drawn into the moon-hued gem until it too turned crimson, unlocking the seal with blood magic. The entrance rumbled and revealed an opening, steps leading into darkness.

Dean went down, the walls glowed in red and black hues, more magic pulsing along the deeper he travesed until he found what looked like stone coffin.

He pushed the cover aside only to find it empty.

"Well, we tried. Guess someone beat us to him." Dean shrugged and turned but Assaciel once again blocked him.

"You're the only living being capable of accessing these ruins. Do you really think it'd be so simplistic?"

Dean rose his arms up, gesturing wide, "Look around, halo. No sleeping monster. I'd say whatever was here is long gone."

Assaciel stared at him unimpressed, "Is it?"
