A ship appears, travelling at a decent speed towards Ellesmere.
It's traveled a long, long, way from it's home, somewhere around RA-619, around a little star named Glendathu.
This ship is the CU Loyalty, a small carrier operated by the brave individuals in the Colonial Expeditionary Force. It carries roughly 120 individuals, with a crew of 80. There are two dropships, one the main force, the other a recovery force should anything go badly, which in an ideal case shouldn't.
They all seem pretty excited, even for traveling to a completely new planet.
The ship stops just outside the atmosphere of Ellesmere, and the direction crew gives the dropships the A-OK to launch.
A group of 12 people board the Faithful, the dropship. Four of them are pilots, 3 are researchers, and the remaining 5 are all Exped's armed group. They're advised to be careful, as this is Aschen space, so it's best that they operate on radio silence for the time being, which means that the small group won't be able to communicate elaborate messages, just messages under 100 characters to minimize traffic. The crew of the dropship engages in a small prayer for protection from those that might endanger them, and get their last wishes in order in case they don't survive this mission.
The somber mood is quickly replaced by an excited one, as the crew readies and says their last goodbyes to the people onboard the Loyalty, and climb onboard the dropship.
The bay doors open, and the Faithful plummets into the atmosphere.
