Auria Vloeran, Head of the Ri Council of Guilds, emerged from the corridors of the Great Hall and out onto the stage-like area, making her careful way to the lectern from which she would speak. She was a handsome woman, appearing youthful despite her old age, and her skin was a lavender purple, spotted with lighter pink markings. Her eyes were a matching violet, and her thick tentacle-like hair fell in a swooping curve to her shoulders, the same colour as her skin. She wore a tight-fitting yellow and white suit, shockingly vibrant for formal garb, that contrasted perfectly with her skin tone.
On stepping up to the podium, she inclined her head respectfully at the gathered leaders.
"Good day, my fellows." she said, her voice musical and perfectly pronounced, each racial leader hearing her speak in their own first language thanks to the inherent gifts of the Ri species. "I come before you today as a representative for the three Ri Home-Fleets, Iria, Loria and Elania; and their ruling body, the Council of Guilds. We seek to join this coming together of nations for our own security, for as part of our philosophy of peace we refuse to maintain an active military. This does, however, leave us vulnerable to the more opportunistic nations. We wish a certain level of diplomatic immunity, a free body within the multiverse, separate from conflict and free to practice our trade and art. In return, we will provide these services in ample amounts."
The woman smiled faintly "I cannot speak more specifically, trade agreements would be a matter for the guild of merchants, but I trust that you understand my meaning. We have no fixed homeworld, only mobile Home-Fleets, and stations, where the majority of our people dwell. The Council only has direct influence over the fleets and some of the stations, however. We cannot speak for our entire race, just as one group of humans cannot speak for every human in the galaxy. However, we are the most prevalent and unified body of our people, and we maintain positive relations with our other factions."
Exchanging a brief glance with the organiser of this coming together of minds, Auria concluded her speech "I believe that is all for general introduction, any further questions can be addressed either to me personally, or I can arrange a video-link with my fellow councillors should you have inquiries in their specific areas."
With that, she stepped down from the podium and took a seat, awaiting the arrival of the next spokesperson.
