"I'm Andi Campeti, Second Lieutenant, UCS Army Rangers," Andi replied with a smile of relief that the sailor could still reply. "And I've got some other Rangers here with me, too, as well as some friends we picked up on the way. So don't freak out when you see the Black Guard troopers, ok? You might hurt yourself even more."

Andi didn't wait for a reply, as the quesiton wasn't meant to be answered. He simply picked the sailor up so that he could carry him out. "I'm gonna bring ya to Doc, ok? Getcha patched up," Andi explained to the sailor in an upbeat tone.

"Doc!" Andi shouted when he got out of the ship and was walking back down the ramp. "Got a wounded here, one of our own sailors." Andi set the man down and looked him over. "Looks like bad dehydration, some brusing. A bad cut on his face. Possible internal bleeding . . . and a broken arm." Andi looked up as 'Doc' Simpson came up to him. "He's in bad shape, Doc," Andi whispered, so that the sailor couldn't hear him.

"Looks like your analysis was pretty accurate, Lieutenant," Simpson said. He paused, studying the sailor before him, "Gimme a minute, I'll patch him up and we can send him to the rear when we get back to our line, where he'll get real medical treatment." Doc went to work.
