"Get that portal open!" she yelled, gesturing towards a stone circle toward the side of the room. "Call the battlemages to arms, get them on the walls! Shore up the defences, I want our finest geomancers behind the walls, giving them added strength! Tallana, I need you at the gate, your metal magic can hold them fast! Elante, get yourself down to the student quarters, organise them into groups, make sure they're never in less than groups of five! Get the eldest students out with the staff, we need every hand available!"
The commands the headmaster issued were each to a separate individual, and each apprentice, or mage darted off, either out into the corridor or into the now glowing purple stone portal leading to the courtyard. Scarlet herself turned then to the artefact bearers. "You, guardians, stay in here, ensure nothing goes awry with the ritual, and keep those damn artefacts safe!" -c-
