Jareth allowed Eva to fuss with him without much complaint even if he did wince and hiss through his teeth from time to time. When the task was all done Jareth grunted in saticfaction. "You've done very well. Thank you. Goblin first aid isn't nearly as gentle."

The Goblin King briefly imagined one of his minions trying to patch him up and smiled ever so slightly at the thought. Almost as a father smiled at the image of his children grubbily playing doctor with popsicle sticks and adhesive strips.

"You'll do well to mark the wisdom of some of those tales around here. In fact your probably better equiped than some could be under the same curcimstances. your Grandmother sounds quite the woman at anyrate and, by the way, I do appreciate you leaving the kitcken utensils where they belong. I've had quite enough of people trying to kill me today. Not that I could really blame you..."

From the way Eva was talking Jareth got the impression that Eva's grandmother had most likely passed on. The thought made him wary. To Jareth's mind nothing was ever a coincidence. Furthermore he, perhaps, felt a little irritated that he had not taken greater percaution at producing the houses illusion. There were obviously a great many feeling associated with the premises and had Jareth used a little more care he might have avoided causing the young woman any particular distress. What was done was done however. Jareth wouldn't bother to correct his mistake just yet.
