“You can touch it all you want...” Eva stated, walking closer to it. She looked back to Jareth, with a small smirk on her face. She raised a hand and touched the mirror a few times and once more as if to validate her point.

“I touched the mirror three times back...er...home. Only twice did it swirl with pretty colours and open the portal up. “ She pulled her hand away, and turned back to Jareth. Then shrugged, and stepped away from the mirror. She studied it for a moment, than sighed.

“The way I activated it was by saying a wish. If I didn’t, it acted like an ordinary mirror.” She turned towards a few boxes that were stacked and walked towards them. She decided to leave Jareth in peace while he decided to do whatever with the mirror. She sat down at a box and opened it up, only to be blasted with dust.

“Ack, I think you out-did yourself with the house’s details Jareth.” She muttered, after a fit of coughing. Waving away the dust, she pulled out a worn looking book. When she opened it, a small smile formed on her lips. It was a photo album; very old...Eva’s parents were in it, along with a baby Eva. She flipped through the pages, her eyes stinging. She didn’t cry, she’d be damned to cry infront of anyone. Sighing she placed the book to the side, and looked through the box some more. Just old birthday cards, letters and a picture or two. She placed the things back in the box, and leaned against them. She looked around the attic.

“You know what I just realized? The stories my Gran used to tell me were amazing, and always seemed to change. She never once read them to me from a book.” She said, more to herself but she welcomed Jareth’s imput. Eva rubbed her face, and rested her head on her knees. She closed her eyes, but remained awake.
