Despite Eva's open invitation to mess with the mirror as he liked Jareth still looked rather thoughtful about the idea. Then again it was important that he take advantage of his present opportunity while it still existed. The castle itself Jareth wasn't so concerned for. It's security had already been established before he'd left and there was also the added security of the hedges he'd sealed off earlier in the day. What Jareth was very concerned about, however, was the whereabouts of a certain dwarf who happened to know a great deal more about the secrets of the Labyrinth than anyone else did with the exception of Jareth of course.

Stepping closer to the mirror while half listening to Eva, Jareth gently touched its surface with the tips of his fingers of his good hand. As expected the surface did react and for about thirty seconds the reflective images blurred into a golden haze that gently illuminated the room. After that Jareth seemed to not be able to hear Eva any longer as his vision and attention was entirely dominated by a panoramic view of the Labyrinth which Jareth seemed to be able to zoom in an out of at will. For Jareth the images were as if he was in the form of the barn owl again flying across the labyrinth and investigating area as he liked but to anyone else looking the mirror had become like a moving picture screen flashing any number of images and landscapes about the Labyrinth.

Jareth was looking for Hoggle as well as looking for anything else that shouldn't have been there but in either case he found nothing. As Jareth's concern grew so did the speed of the images, one after another, faster and faster.

"Damn, damn, damn!" As the images flashed faster and faster the mirror itself began to struggle to keep up with Jareth's demands and began to quiver and hum. "That blasted dwarf is nowhere to be found!"

Jareth growled and abruptly broke his connection to the images on the mirror.

"That's either to our benefit or very much against it. Hopefully if something has happened to the putrid little worm he'll have enough sense to keep his mouth shut." Jareth back was to Eva as he struggled to get his temper back under control.

That's about when a sudden thought occurred to the the Goblin King.

"Wait." Jareth looked over his shoulder in Eva's direction as she sat curled up. His eyes had narrowed into slits. "You said "I wish"? and then the mirror activated. In order to summon me you would have had to have been more specific. You didn't invoke anyone in particular and yet you ended up here. You're wish, I presume, granted. What exactly does THAT remind you of?"
