"Damn it," thought Madame Rose to herself, running toward the sound of the gunshots. "Just missed him..." She looked around at the blood ridden bodies that lay in the alley. Definitely Cain. She couldn't say she was all that disappointed though. They were gang members after all: normal human criminals. It wasn't like any Alters had been killed. She wasn't sure why the gangs had alligned themselves with Nemesis considering they too were just humans, but who cared, right? Expendable soldiers, right? Right?
Rose sighed slightly. Okay, so she felt a little bad for them... but at least it was for a good cause; their deaths hadn't been in vain. With one last look at the bodies, she strolled off into the night.
