Earth: Saige's Discovery

"It looks like its going to rain, Saige..."

Saige McKinley looked out the window of her store and up at the clouds which seemed to almost darken before her eyes. With a sigh, she looked back from the window towards her sister, who was leaning up against the counter at their shared store, "Make A Scene". Her sister shrugged at her, before looking over towards a girl who had approached her, asking a question. The girl answered it, before looking back over toward Saige. "See..." she began, "It looks like its going to get nasty out there really soon. I didn't think the weather man said anything about rain at all for the next week or so. I was sure of it..."

"Well, I think I'm going to quick head home and shut the windows then. Mind staying here by yourself for a bit? I'll only be ten minutes at the most."

Saige's sister shrugged, before answering with a, "Sure, why not."

With that, Saige made her way out of the store, unlocking her 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow before getting in. The car had almost 75,000 miles on it, but she treated it like it was the most valuable thing in the world; to her it was, because she had spent a pretty penny on it, and it was an old, used car - a classic.

With a smile, she started the engine, and pulled out of the store, taking note of the decent amount of cars that were parked already in the stores parking lot.

It was not more than seven minutes before Saige was back to her own house. By the time she had reached the drive, it was already starting to just drizzle slightly outside. She quickly killed the engine, got out, and locked up her car, before running towards the house. Another three minutes passed itself by, and Saige had shut all of the windows up tight.

She wandered toward the back of the house to where her back door was located - it was glass, and lead out onto a covered back porch. She watched the rain as it began to really pour down from the sky for a bit through the glass door, before actually stepping outside of the house.

As she stood and watched the rain fall, and the lightning strike, and listen to the thunder boom, Saige began to have a feeling of dread cross over her. She wasn't quite sure why she was feeling this way, but something in her gut was telling her that something very important was about to happen.

It was just at that very moment that lighting struck the lake in her back yard - or at least, its what she thought was lighting, though she figured that it had lingered far longer than lighting should have. But in looking back towards the lake, nothing seemed different. That is, until Saige realized that there were bubbles coming up from the bottom of the lake, and that, yes, it seemed almost as if someone was struggling under the water.

Saige found her legs moving under her as she carried herself to the bank of the lake, despite the fact that it was pouring out, and her knee length white dress was very quickly becoming soaked. Her hair was caked to her face because of the rain; it was all so very cold. But her eyes searched the water, and just like that, she saw what appeared to be a person beneath the surface of the water.

"Oh my God..."

Without thinking, Saige ran into the water, hands searching for the girl in order to grab onto her so that she might pull her out. The female was struggling with the lily pad vines, and Saige was having a hard time getting a grip on the girl. But with a pull, she snapped some of the lily pad vines enough so that she could also pull the girl free.

With a tug, she drug the female ashore, slipping in the muddy banks of the lake in the process. She was breathing heavily, and almost shaking from both adrenaline and cold. "Oh my God... What the hell were you doing in my lake? You could have drown! You would have drown, if I hadn't come home just then!" Her voice rang out, clear as day, and sharp as anything. But her mood almost changed to relieved, and worried. "What were you doing in there? Thank God you're okay..."

But without waiting for the girls response, she began rattling on again. "Let us both get inside of my house. I'm soaked through to the bone, and you were just taking a suicidal swim in my lake. After we get in there and get dried off, you'll have quite a bit of explaining to do."
