Now someone else approached, another Alter. He was dressed quite distinctly, including a cape, and drew a sword as he came up beside the long-haired girl. Rose, he called her. If they knew each other they were probably on the same side... But was it Nemesis or Aegis?
A flicker of movement caught his eye. The white-haired woman made a rapid movement toward him his dark passenger could have avoided - although Matt saw what she was doing, he didn't have the speed to avoid it. Even if he did, he wouldn't have. Why not let this play out? His Alter needed him; he wouldn't let him get strangled, and Matt knew it.

He felt the woman's arm wrap around his neck, an easy position for her considering how short he was. His breath hitched a little as he felt her hold quickly tighten on his throat, but he made no effort to struggle. With his teeth clenched from being choked, he only smiled at the two friends he seemed to have made, even giving a little wave to them. Obviously this wasn't comfortable and it made breathing a little difficult, but for the moment Matt didn't mind, nor did his dark passenger.
