Babe. Cute. His Alter chuckled. Matt blinked at Rose's words. He tried to get out an 'okay' but only succeeded in making a short squeaking sound, unable to spew enough air for his vocal chords. He gave a small cough and smiled. How silly he must look, perfectly calm and smiling almost contentedly in the choke hold of this lady.

There was a blur in the moonlight that swooped in behind Rose then. A boy with a skateboard appeared, holding his hand at Rose's nape in what was supposed to be a threat. It seemed to Matt that Rose would probably be able to shoot her gun before this boy executed whatever plan he had with his bare hand. But he didn't care either way. He vaguely hoped Rose would get out of this unharmed for the kindness she had shown him, but others' welfare was not his top priority. Matt usually only acted based on what would benefit him most, as his dark passenger had taught him.

He felt the woman's grip tighten on him upon the new arrival. All the activity seemed to be making her nervous. He wasn't a big fan of crowds, either. Her arm relaxed a little as she moved them back. There was an enormous sound of cracking and smashing as of rocks, an explosion. Matt jumped considerably and probably would have ducked and covered if he wasn't being held hostage. But there didn't seem to be much debris, just lots of dust.
As the woman began to shuffle backwards with him, he saw what the explosion had been. She had shattered a brick wall - how, he didn't know. Must be something to do with her abilities as an Alter. It wasn't long before an alarm sounded, the sound whining through the night. Matt cringed, beginning to wriggle a bit now. He held his hands over his ears as best as he could with the woman's arm around his throat, whimpering.
