The boy threatening Rose seemed only to be a minor distraction, as she soon followed them into the building the woman had blown open for them. Bricks drifted through the air after her, hovering menacingly. Her hair floated also, seemingly from her power. Matt was going limp besides his arms and hands, which still struggled to shut his ears against the alarm. He was no longer fond of the situation. But his dark passenger was not going to aid him unless absolutely necessary now that the alarm was going off.

He felt the arm around his neck move, then fingers crawling along his collar until they grabbed the back of his hoodie. He first took in a real breath of air, then slumped without the support of her arm. He pressed his hands against his ears, clenching his teeth and shutting his eyes. All he was focused on anymore was the terrible sound of the alarm - he hoped his dark passenger was paying some degree of attention, in case he was about to be killed. Opening his eyes briefly, he saw the glimmer of a knife. Yes, hopefully that was enough to get his Alter's attention, at least.
