Description: In truth? Thalia is a lovely young woman whose appearance reflects her heritage and bloodline. Her skin is the color of copper, lovely, her hair is dark, while her eyes are a distinct color of aquamarine. Every bit of her appearance screams that she is of mixed blood. Her petite frame also serves to suggest that she is not just a common everyday sort of girl either, no; it gives Thalia the appearance of a girl born of nobility. And . . . everything foretold by the girlā€™s looks and traits are completely true. Born of a family of nobility in the within a small city, she inherited all of the telltale signs of her birthing. Her dark, prismatic hair is sleek in texture, itā€™s straight, thick and healthy in appearance while the longest of it falls to the girlā€™s hips. While Thaliaā€™s hair is cut in layers, the longest of it stops right at her hips while some of it is at her waist, other parts at the shoulder blades, shoulders, and then her jaws. Rather often, Thalia can be found with her hair worn down when it she is not playing the part of a Pierrot, or in more recent times, attending some formal event. When she is made to attend an event such as this, often Thalia can be found wearing her long hair back, pulled up and out of her face, more often than not it is worn back in some intricate fashionā€”some sort of bun or otherwise. Often enough as well, her hair winds up decorated with ornaments and such things. . . .

While her face is normally completely visible thanks to the hair style she has to wear, you can clearly see every defining trait of Xue which marks her as a child born of crossed bloodlinesā€”the skin upon her face is clear, free of any imperfections while she has defined cheekbones, color in her face, a small nose, thin lips and intelligent, aquamarine colored eyes that sharply contrast her prismatic hair. While she has her hair down however, it is left to frame her face and it obscures some of her more obvious Salamander traits.

As far as her body goes, Thalia lives up to her linage as aristocracyā€”she is a well-built girl. Sheā€™s slender, but toned, of healthy, good weight, but she is put together with a notable enough figure. Her bust is of average size while it is her waistline measures small and her hips are the most defining trait of her form. Her beauty has been up kept well enough; she looks the part of being a strong and vigorous young woman whose health hasnā€™t seen a bad day. Thalia looks every bit her age of eighteen.

Preferred Clothing: The taste in clothing that Thalia carries is rather simplistic in that . . . she simply doesnā€™t have any sort of personal taste in it. In truth, because of how it was she came to develop growing up, she lost out on the ability to have a taste in clothing because she became so used to people simply instructing her on what it is she ought to wear or such.

MENTALITY
Oddities: For being as small as she is, Thalia has an unusually large appetite, she gets hungry often and tends to eat so much food, youā€™d think sheā€™d be making herself sick. This couldnā€™t be further from the truth though, as Thalia always seems perfectly content after a meal despite having consumed enough food for someone twice her size. The girl is a food lover, and appreciates a good meal, always being polite about it and showing her gratitude whenever sheā€™s served or cooked for.

She apparently sleepwalks, thatā€™s what sheā€™s been told at least. Evidently, she wanders out of her bed at random and walks around, even going outside. Thalia has been told she carries the expression of a doll whenever this happens, and if she is addressed, she speaks in a tone of voice that is very, very monotone.

Given her passive and rather submissive nature, as well as the need for her to more or less ā€˜serveā€™ under someone, Thalia is a girl who speaks in an usually formal manner, given her upbringing. She does not use abbreviations in her speech, such as ā€˜Iā€™mā€™ she will instead say ā€˜I am.ā€™

In line with how she was raised, Thalia is very much a subservient girl. So much so, that it is almost frightening to think about. It is very rare to see her ever, ever act on her own.

Although she is a Salamander Halfling, Thalia is completely unaware of her heritage and believes herself to be fully human, so whatever powers she holds over fire are still dormant.

Despite her nature, Thalia has a small quirk that is all her own, she gives people nicknames.

Skills: She is gifted with an odd knowledge of human anatomy, she knows all of the pressure points on the body, and is completely able to use this to her advantage. Thalia knows how to inflict a massive amount of pain to a person without threatening their life, how to temporally paralyze a personā€™s limbs, how to knock someone out cold in fifteen seconds and she also knows how to make it appear someone is dead for a short period of time. Even though this knowledge can be used for malicious purposes, it is more often used to calm people down, or to make them feel better if they are in pain from an injury or some sort of ache.

Thalia is fleet of foot; her small size and upbringing have left her as this. She is able to deftly dodge people, and to slip in and out of crowds if she must. Also, her training has left her rather graceful.

Due to her nature and rearing, Thalia is a skilled cook, while not the greatest, she is at least able to make food according to a recipe and have it taste as it should. Nothing special about it really.

ImageLikes: Cooking/baking, sewing, animals, books/reading, writing, the stars, sweets, and looking at the moon.
Dislikes: Having to make decisions, isolation, monsters, blood, pain, death, bitter/sour things, being left to her own volition, and thunderstorms.
Hobbies: Reading, writing, cooking/baking, stargazing, and companionship.

Phobia(s):
Atychiphobia ā€“ Failure.
Agliophobia ā€“ Pain
Hemophobia ā€“ Blood that is not her own
Astraphobia ā€“ Thunderstorms
Aquaphobia ā€“ Deep water

Personality: A bit of an odd girl, Thalia is someone that is not at all easy to define. . . . Given her upbringing and the last few years of her life, she has developed quite an interesting and complicated personality. Reared as a proud Pierrot, Thalia is someone who seems to present themselves with pride, strength and the upmost certainty of their heritage, person and self. Looking at her, Thalia seems like sheā€™s a very strong young woman, someone who can carry their own weight and shoulder a multitude of burdens without batting an eyelash. She seems as if sheā€™s haughty, prideful and almost arrogant, even the expressions she carries upon her face cause her to be written off as such. Hereā€™s the reality though . . . sheā€™s not really any of these things. Sheā€™s not full of any sort of pride in herself or her lineage, and sheā€™s not strong in any sense of the word. Her mentality and emotional state are rather fragile, and in truth, the slightest of overloads can be enough to send her into a spiral of depression, anxiety and a fit of tears. Thalia is really a timid young woman who merely presents herself as a being full of strength so that no one would have the chance to think otherwise, she fears what people might think, or do, if they discovered that she was actually a very weak girl. Not wanting to end up being used, or taken advantage of, Thalia does her best to hide her many weaknesses and her fragile state of self.

As she is now, and as she has been for many years, Thalia is one who does her best to detach herself from the happenings around her. From peopleā€™s plights, to their words and to any situation at hand, she prefers not to let her emotions get mixed up in anything; she knows her own frailty and realizes that if she allowed herself to be open to the misery of the world around her, and to her own situation, that she would break. Honestly, what is keeping Thalia from breaking now is uncertain, even to her; she even wonders why it is she is trying to look strong to everyone around her now. Her situation seems utterly hopeless, so why? The only answer to this whole matter that she can form is that inside of her, she wants to retain some sense of self, something that will remind her that she is still her own person, and that she will not break to her keeper. . . . Even still, there are undoubtedly times when Thaliaā€™s nearly lost it, become overwhelmed by her own situation, the mounting hopelessness and wound up crying herself to sleep.

She tries to act as strong as she can, she doesnā€™t want to submit to the reality of her life, but the truth is that her faƧade is slowly, slowly crumbling and with each day, Thalia is coming closer to breaking.

Underneath this mask of hers, this seemingly emotionless girl who seems a pillar of certain strength, maturity and pride, Thalia is really something else. . . . With that emotional frailty of hers, Thalia is certainty a very sensitive young woman. The plights of others cling to her heart and have become a heavy weight upon her, part of the reason she seems so insensitive toward everything and one. She feels a lot of guilt for what the world seems to be coming to. In reality, she despises herself, and the family in which she was raised. Sheā€™s utterly ashamed of what she is and whom. But still, she doesnā€™t want to break in front of others, so she never lets them know of how she feels. Thalia is certain that they would not sympathize with her, and would only seek to truly harm her if they realized how deep her guilt traveled.

With that sensitivity she has, Thalia is honestly a kind soul who is scared. Though she can seem off-putting and rude, sheā€™s really just anxious of the world around her. She was a sheltered child, in a word, and she never saw the truth of the world as she grew up, and because of that, everything around her is still very much alien and frightful. Though sheā€™s lived as a servant to an upper class nobleman for the last year, she still fears the world. By isolating herself from everything she feels like she can cushion those uncertainties of hers and keep her heart sustained. Honestly . . . thatā€™s even beginning to fail her. Thalia led an isolated existence up until her marriage at fourteen, and even after, she never had a friend or true companion. Her husband was an unpleasant man whom his servants feared, and as such, they were dreadful of interacting with his wife, Thalia, and did much to avoid her.

So, what things boil down to is this . . . sheā€™s lonely. Thalia is a girl who is very lonesome, though she doesnā€™t do anything to try to make friends. In a way also, she sees herself unfit to befriend those around her, given what her heritage seems to be, in a word, she feels sheā€™d be a burden to another. She knows of her own shortcomings and as such, she doesnā€™t want someone else to have to deal with them. However, just to say, if Thalia were ever able to make a friend, or find herself becoming close to another, the heavy mask she wears, the one that makes her look so haughty and strong, itā€™d come off, and the girl underneath would awaken. The truth of her feelings would come to surface, sheā€™d be unable to hide her tears from a friend if they came to her, should her worries overtake her, those would consume her in their presence, and in a word . . . Thalia would become heavily dependent upon that person. Sheā€™d be needy, want attention, and might even feel a need to cling to her friend.

Really, sheā€™d seem completely childish, as in that if she did not get these things from her friend, sheā€™d be prone to pouting. . . . But, there would definitely be a bright side to being Thaliaā€™s friend, after some time, youā€™d begin to see a rare side of her, the true her. Yes, she seems a lot like a child, but thatā€™s because part of her still is, Thalia is honestly an innocent soul full of curiosities and wonderment. She has dreams, fascinations, hopes and even believes in things that most view as nonsense, such as making wishes on stars. . . . In these moments of seeing the true side of her, it wouldnā€™t be out of the question that one would even get to see her smile, and laugh.

Weapon: Chakrams

Fighting Style: She does not have a very defined fighting style due to never having to do real battle, however, if she were made to fend for herself, Thaliaā€™s manner of battle would be flighty, graceful and quick. Her training as a Pierrot has lead her to be skilled in using chakrams, which could double as a viable weapon.

Abilities: Recollection; because she has read so very many books and such in her lifetime, Thalia is gifted with a wealth of miscellaneous knowledge that she can recall at will. The information she is privy to varies greatly by topic. As she was never given a formal education, all she has ever learned came from the books she read.

As of now, Thalia has no other abilities that are truly noteworthy.

BACKGROUND
Relationship Status: Single
Personal History: Thaliaā€™s very life was threatened before she even took her first breath. Before her existence was even known of, Thaliaā€™s father was slaughtered; his death used as an example to the public for what ā€˜treasonā€™ could cost them. The reason her father was accused of treason remains unknown, but this is why he was killed. Grieving over his death, Thaliaā€™s mother fell ill shortly after, before finding out she was pregnant. Upon this discovery, she was shell-shocked, and became frightened for the life growing inside of her. Her husband having been executed for an unknown crime, it was feared what would happen to his offspringā€”would it too be sentenced to death for some unknown reason?

ImageThaliaā€™s mother was born of a proud lineage, the Lovell family, the heiress to the familyā€™s name and privileges, Violetta Lovell was a proud woman who fell in with a commoner, a strange man whose true history was a tale unknown to all but he. His name was Julius Lockhart. . . . It did not take long for them to wed, yet, shortly after their marriage, Juliusā€™ execution was carried out. Still carrying her proud name, Violetta came to be with child.

In the fear she carried for the childā€™s life, Violetta contacted her sister shortly before she was due to give birth, and pleaded with her and her husband to take care of the baby. Violettaā€™s sister was an odd woman, the black sheep of the Lovell family, and estranged from her siblingā€”instead of being a lady of aristocracy, she instead ran away from home at a young age when her strangeness was rejected by her parents. She went by the name of Athene, and after fleeing from home, she married a the son of a ringmaster, he went by the name of Maxwell. Quickly the two came to live and help run the circus . . . Athene eventually came to contact her sister again, letting her know of her wellbeing and such, as well as where she was.

The two never really got along very well, but still, they were sisters. After some time of pleading with her, Violetta received Atheneā€™s reluctant aid in protecting the life of her child. For the first time she fled from home, Athene returned to the Lovell estate in time for Thaliaā€™s birth. After she was born, and given a name, Athene took her niece off quickly and returned to her husband and the circus they travelled with. Because she had been begged and pleaded with to take the child, Athene did not hold much affection for the little Thalia. Regarded as such, the girl was raised with little love. She was not abused in any manner, simply, she just was not shown acceptance, support or anything of the sort.

Thalia grew up in the care of her aunt and uncle, unaware of her birthrights or heritage. As far as she knew, she was simply the daughter of a ringmaster and his assisting wife. Nothing more. She learned and grew up performing in the circus herself, helping to care for the animals and people who travelled with them. . . . Never given a formal education, the only way Thalia every learned anything was from people who took pity on her in the towns they remained in, strangers taught her the basics of reading, writing, and math. All the while Athene and Maxwell formed and shaped Thalia to be a subservient girl, someone who wouldnā€™t get in their way or annoy them. They wanted no trouble from her so they taught her to bent to their will and to not question what it was they told her to do.

For nearly eighteen years, Thalia lived like this. Never knowing any other way of life, always assuming that this was how she was suppose to exist. . . . It was shortly before she was to be eighteen, Violetta contacted Athene once more and said it was time for Thalia to be returned to her rightful place in societyā€”her birth was known of now and she was already betrothed to the son of the local ruling Duke of the region, Louis Auttenberg. It was then that the reality of her birth was told to Thalia, she learned she was not the daughter of Athene and Maxwell, but that they were her aunt and uncle. Confused and not understanding any of this, Thalia simply remained passive toward everything she was told, as her existence fell to pieces around her. It was how she was raised after all. Upon being returned home, Thalia at last met face to face with her birthmother, with Violetta.

Violetta herself was still a weak and ailing woman, and because Thalia was raised as a submissive girl who had an innate need to latch onto someone and deem them her superior, the girl bent to the will of a mother she hardly knew, learning she would soon be married and be made to live the life of a nobleā€™s wife.

Thalia has been with her mother for but a month now, adjusting to life as aristocracy without questioning anything she is told to do. Upon her eighteenth birthday, she is to be wed to Louis Auttenberg, the son of the local corrupted and greedy Duke Auttenberg who reigns over the region. A notable womanizer, Thalia does not understand his ways, yet still, she will go through with the marriage because she does not know how to say no. She is being told what to do and thus, she believes it to be best. . . .

The night before her birthday is fast approaching, and it will be then that Thalia attends a party thrown in the honor of her and Louisā€™ marriage. . . .
