Looking back to where Warren had recently offered to help him up, Felix backed up. Light was fading fast, and his clothes did not insulate his heat much. Living in a sewer is hot and stuffy already, and he new the night would be rough for him. He tossed the scarf-full of coconuts to the top of the cliff, putting the leaves in front of it so that the momentum would leave them together. Backing up far enough to gain large amounts of momentum, he sped up quickly. Almost meeting the cliff, he jumped, pulling himself up with a stray rock protruding from the face of the cliff. Almost slipping his feet off the crumbling rocks and dirt, he grabbed a foothold from the roots and made contact with the top of the cliff with his hands. Dangling for a moment, he pushed his legs off of the rock and rolled up onto the top of the cliff.

"I'm sure the plan went out much better in my head than it did in reality..." Felix said quietly as he gathered himself and his possessions once again. Hearing faint sounds, he followed the noises off into the jungle growth.
Hey, the leaves look pretty neat.
Instantly distracted by the surreal pattern of grooves in the leaves, he bent down to feel the texture. It was rough but moist, with an almost bouncy nature as he lifted his hand from the leaf. A chill passed through his spine as the setting sun was unforgiving for those who are distracted. Focusing on his earlier task, he was now seeing a somewhat faded Warren. He had a girl next to him, and there was someone else that they appeared to be talking to. Gluing himself to a tree, he intently watched and listened in, unaware of the fact that the stars were nowhere to be seen in the sky. Clutching the leaves and scarf tightly, there was a nagging feeling that it wasn't going to be a very comfortable night...

'Geez, you don't have to be so mean about it. I can't help that I'm not too good with survival stuff.' She was wise enough not to let her thoughts show. Angering the person that will keep her from starving would not be a good idea. 'I'm pretty sure the grass will be easy to cut.' Her annoyance increased as he talked about wasting energy, but faded when he offered the bow.

"Of course not! I wouldn't dream of any such thing! Thank you for lending me this." She took the offered bow and placed it on her makeshift bed to use later. 'Thank goodness they taught us how to start a fire in that mandatory survival class. I guess school was good for something other than being bullied.' She quickly made her way to where she saw the dried grass. In the end, she didn't have to cut it as it was very easy to pull out. Picking her way carefully through the darkness, she made it back to the clearing without getting lost.

"Um, if I'm not doing this right, please tell me what I should change." After gathering the driest vegetation from the pile he had cut, she started piling them up and arranged the grass. She took a deep breath. 'Okay, if I remembered this right, I should be able to get a fire going in a few minutes.'

"Argh!" If you had been able to see through the darkness, you would have seen a very frustrated Danielle. The lack of light coupled with the fact that her survival class had been two years ago meant that it was very hard for her to start a fire. She took a moment to rest for the fifth time. 'Okay, maybe I should try to be more consistent with pressure and speed. I'm pretty sure that was what made that spark on my second try.' It seemed that this was the right method, as sparks appeared after a minute or so. "Yes! Finally!" She was careful not to blow too hard this time, feeding the sparks slowly with dried grass and eventually larger pieces of vegetation. 'Well, I guess I'm not too useless after all,' she thought, smugly. 'Take that, Mr.Be Prepared!' After the fire was in no danger of being put out, she retrieved the fruit she had picked that morning, spearing one with a stick to roast over the fire.

Logan watched the fire dance in the darkness as the others discussed what to do next. The way that Faustus had stared at him before was rather frightening, but he decided to shrug it off. As he watched the fire a strange feeling began to brew within him. He heard screams in his head, begging for someone, anyone to save them. He saw sparks fly from the top of the fire, and he saw pieces of a building begin to fall. He watched as the fire seemed to breath in rhythm with his own breath as the memories came flooding back to him. He had only been a child, but was that really any excuse? His dad hadn't hidden those matches very well, but that was still a terrible excuse. On the other hand, he had thought the building was empty. Most people had already left their houses, why should anyone have been there. As the realization that he had killed those people hit him like a train, (it was a memory he had shoved back in his mind) he felt his sanity begin to snap. The only reason he didn't attack the others right then was because he saw Angel begin to leave. He was snapped out of his thoughts at that moment, as he felt a strong urge to protect her. After how close she had been to death before, he wanted to make sure she wasn't harmed. Yet something held him back. It was almost as though it was not his destiny (not that he believed such a thing existed) and decided to watch Faust as well as he could in the pitch black. "Pretty dark tonight huh?"
