She does have several burns along her body from when she was training herself to become a close to perfect firebender. The most common ones being the ones wrapped around her arms, sometimes looking like tattoos. They go from her shoulder blades to the tips of her finger on her right arm and her wrist on her left arm. But, the most asked about ones, being the ones on her face and spinal cord. And when asked how she got them, she's not one to be honest. She'll tell you that it happened in a training accident, when really they were caused by her sister during their Agni Kai when she couldn't bring herself to burn her own sister. Too bad her sister had no problem burning her. She doesn't have any piercings, being against the idea and thinking of earrings as useless and idiotic. She does have one tattoo on her right should blade of the phrase, "Never forget" to remind her to never forget what how cruel people can be.

(Has mastered Firebending)

{Blocking fire}: A skilled firebender can defuse and extinguish an oncoming fire blast from another firebender by using a swift kick, jab, or any other defensive maneuver, allowing them to stop attacks.

{Fire blade}: As a more advanced version of a blazing arc, firebenders can create thin blades of fire by narrowing their flame projections, which can subsequently be launched at opponents.

{Blazing rings and arcs}: Spinning kicks or sweeping arm movements create rings and arcs to slice larger, more widely spaced, or evasive targets.

{Fire bomb}: Considered a short range attack, a firebender can create a flame at the end of a limb and thrust the flame down in an explosive burst.

{Flame redirection}: In a similar fashion to waterbending, firebenders are capable of changing the course of an incoming fire blast and redirecting it back at the attacker using fluid motion. This move exemplifies the use of firebending as an extension of the body and is used infrequently in modern combat in favor of more offensive maneuvers.

{Fire daggers}: Blowtorch-like jets which are created from the fist or fingertips to use as close range sword-like attacks. However, they lack the ability to actually block physical objects.

{Fire streams}: Another basic firebending ability, firebenders can shoot continuous streams of fire from their fingertips, fists, palms, or legs. These streams can be widened to create flame-thrower like techniques.

{Fire whip}: An extension of a fire stream, this continuous stream of flame can be utilized as a whip.

{Fire lashes}: An even further extension of the fire whip/stream, firebenders can create a long lash of fire and bring them down on their enemies, or create smaller, multiple lashes and envelop an area with fire.

{Fireballs or "Fire-jabs"}: A basic ability, jabs and punches produce miniature fireballs and missiles of flame. These can be charged up (refer to charged attacks) to create larger, slower bursts, or swiftly and repetitively fired to keep opponents off balance.

{Shield of fire}: This creates a protective fire shield around the front of, or the whole body of, a firebender that can deflect attacks and explosions.

Firebending Master Level

{Intertwined fire stream}: An advanced move based on the basic fire stream. The performer directs two powerful fire streams at their opponent, though by intertwining the two streams, a massive comet shaped fire stream is formed that has more power than the single stream.

{Fire comet}: An advanced form of the fire stream in which the user pressurizes the fire into a ball and shoots it toward the enemy.

{Charged attacks}: Firebenders have been shown charging their attacks before releasing them, allowing them to create enormous blasts of fire.

{Fire augmentation}: Firebenders can also control the size and intensity of any nearby flames and can draw them in to manipulate them at will.

{Fire missiles}: A more advanced form of the fire stream, powerful firebenders can shoot long streams of fire that follow the target as they move.

{Jet propulsion}: Skilled firebending masters are able to conjure huge amounts of flame to propel themselves at high speeds on the ground or through the air; however, it has only ever been for short periods of time due to the short lasting strength of firebenders.

{Wall of flames}: One of firebending's few defensive techniques, either a situated explosion or controlled inferno, this wall of concentrated flames acts as a barrier to incoming attacks. It may be a more powerful version of a fire shield. It not only protects against attacks, but when used right, can be used to stealthily escape from foes.

{Breath of fire}: The breath of fire involves the user firebending out of his or her mouth, mixing air from the lungs with the flame, creating a wider, hotter blast.

{Energy reading}: In a similar way to healing, firebenders are capable of using fire to sense chi paths and interpret spiritual energy.

Avatar Level Firebending
(For now, can only do when in the Avatar State)

{Long-range multiple fire whips}: An Avatar-level firebender can produce fire whips, the most being five at once. They are capable of reaching across long distances.

{β€œFire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want. Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring. Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns, and they found peace and freedom. Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.It is important to draw wisdom from different places. If you take it from only one place it become rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, the other nations, will help you become whole. It is the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful. But it can make you more powerful too.”— Uncle Iroh }

Known Airbending
(Close to mastering the basics, only if she could bring herself to 'open up')

{Air ball}: An airbender can create a compressed ball of air by moving their hands together in a circular motion. This technique has many applications such as levitating small objects or trapping opponents.

{Air blast}: A more offensive maneuver involving a direct pulse or jet of strong wind from the hands, feet, or mouth. The force of the attack is generated more from the bender's own power, rather than assisted by momentum.

{Air swipe}: The air swipe is both a defensive and offensive technique in which an airbender conjures a crescent-shaped structure of compressed air capable of deflecting colossal projectiles.

{Air punch/kick}: Another more offensive move than is typical of airbending discipline, air punches or air kicks are small, compressed formations of air that can be fired off the fists or feet of an airbender.

{Air shield}: The most common defensive tactic, though less powerful than the air barrier, it involves circling enemies, suddenly changing direction when attacked and evading by physical movement rather than bending.

Enhanced agility: Air movements can also be used as a levitation aid.

{Suction}: A technique used to bring people or objects toward the airbender.

Airbending master level
(Hasn't even learned about these just yet... Just the names)

{Air blades}: A more offensive move than its typical of airbending principle, this involves a focus; slicing air current that can cut through stone or timber with relative ease.

{Air cocoon}: A master airbender can rotate while jumping to wrap themselves in a cocoon of wind.

{Air propulsion}: A skilled airbender can propel themselves forward at great speed by negating the effect of wind resistance.

{Levitation}: An airbender can achieve this same feat by generating and controlling air currents to form a 'cloud' like board under their feet and surfing through the air, thereby emulating flight.

Avatar Level Airbending

(For now, can only do withing the Avatar State)

{Air sphere}: The Avatar flies at high-speeds while inside the air sphere, which also acts as a barrier to protect the bender during impacts, strong enough to withstand a high velocity impact with rock.

{Strong wind}: It is possible for the Avatar to unleash extremely powerful winds.

{Tornadoes/hurricanes}: In addition to large and powerful air movements, an Avatar level airbender can create massive tornadoes and hurricanes at will.

Known Waterbending

Will learn after airbending

Known Earthbending

Will learn last and after water

"The Avatar State is a defense mechanism, designed to empower you with the skills and knowledge of all the past Avatars. The glow is the combination of all your past lives, focusing their energy through your body. In the Avatar State, you are at your most powerful, but you are also at your most vulnerable. If you are killed in the Avatar State, the reincarnation cycle will be broken and the Avatar will cease to exist."
―Roku

The strongest and most powerful ability that the Avatar can invoke is the Avatar State. It was created when Wan permanently bonded with Raava by touching the energy coming through the spirit portal during the Harmonic Convergence in 9,829 BG. It allows the Avatar to channel vast cosmic energies and the knowledge of previous Avatars, granting them superhuman strength and allowing for the ability to perform especially powerful and extraordinary feats of bending. The Avatar may unconsciously enter the State in response to perception of mortal danger, utilizing the State as a defense mechanism, or emotional distress. While in the State, the Avatar has access to bending techniques that may have not yet been learned in their current lifetime, but has no conscious control over the resulting actions, which can cause great collateral damage. An Avatar with full mastery of the Avatar State has conscious control over the State and can enter and exit it at will, but it takes a great physical toll on his body after being in the Avatar State for such an extended period of time.

While in the Avatar State, the Avatar's eyes glow, as do any markings following chi paths along the body, such as Air Nomad tattoos; however, if the body has received an injury deeper than the tattoos, that specific area will not glow in the State. The white glow is the result of Raava's spirit in the Avatar, resulting in the combination of all the Avatar's past lives focusing their energy through a single body. It is possible for an Avatar to control the Avatar State. More often, the Avatar State is activated by danger or emotional turmoil. It is possible for an Avatar to channel a specific previous incarnation while in the Avatar State. When this happens, the Avatar briefly takes on the appearance and voice of that previous incarnation. There seems to be two distinct ways to how the Avatar State works:

Reflexively
When the State activates without the Avatar calling on it, the Avatar's eyes, and tattoos in the case of an Air Nomad Avatar, glow white constantly, and Raava's spirit allows for active channeling of the energy, skills, and knowledge of past Avatars through the body of the current Avatar, heavily augmenting the current incarnation's bending abilities. The State works this way almost exclusively when it is triggered as an instinctive, unconscious reaction, a 'defense mechanism' for when an Avatar's physical capabilities would be insufficient to confront the current threat, or in situations of extreme emotion, specifically rage and sorrow. So it may be more accurate to describe the State being used this way as 'reflexively' rather than 'continuously'. When the State is triggered this way, the current Avatar has little to no control over the performed actions and may retain little to no memory of what happened, though this is not always the case.

Masterfully
(Has not mastered yet. Plans to met with the Guru soon.)
When the State is used intentionally, the Avatar's eyes, and tattoos in the case of an Air Nomad Avatar, glow momentarily, and during that time the current Avatar stores the knowledge and energy needed so that it can be released once exiting the State, taking only the power needed for a specific task. This reduces the danger of being killed in the Avatar State and enables a more willful, controlled use of the Avatar State's power. This can only be done by an Avatar who has mastered the State as it is a conscious use rather than an instinctual response. Mastery of this technique is part of what distinguishes an Avatar as "fully realized".

{Weakness}
While the Avatar is all but invincible in the Avatar State, having access to the bending experiences of all the past lives, there is one grave weakness: while in effect, the Avatar Spirit can be harmed. If the Avatar were to be killed while in the Avatar State, the cycle would break and the Avatar would cease to exist.Another downside to the Avatar State is the considerable mental strain it can cause to less experienced Avatars. When she used it three times, after all three of them she felt like a monster. Furthermore, use of the State, at least in extraordinary circumstances, can place such a large physical strain on an Avatar's body such that their life span can be affected.

Happiest Moment|
"It was the moment I finally left, I loved Wei and I loved my country but the moment I left, I felt free. I felt that for once, I made a choice for myself. I was terrified, of course and I was crying for hours while in the sky. But, after the first night, I realized that I was doing what I was suppose to do. I hid for a long time from the world and because of it, the Tsumi Ribasu has been able to take over the Air Temples. And while I hid from my destiny, I felt like I was in this box that once I married Wei I would be seen as nothing more than the queen and a wife, but I needed to be seen not as a queen or wife but, as a warrior and the Avatar. I needed to be seen as the person I was... even if that meant leaving what I knew and loved behind."

Saddest Moment|
"It was the moment my sister burned me, that was the day my family fell apart for good. She had hurt me and almost killed me out of jealousy. She would have if my father wouldn't have rushed in front of me to take the lightning... After that, I blacked out. From what my brother told me, my eyes glowed and I was floating in thin air... Bending fire in ways they have never seen. It was the first time I went into the Avatar State, I was just so angry and, and-- Before I knew it, my father was telling me to stop. That he was okay and I needed to stop before I did anything I would regret. I blacked out and when I woke up, my brother told me everything, how extraordinary and terrifying it was to witness. To see that much rage and power in someone. I don't know what I did and how I did it, but I do know that I need to learn to control it before I hurt anyone else.

|History|

Natsumi's life isn't as it appears. When she was born, she was born as the next Avatar in the cycle after the Avatar before her died of mysterious circumstances. From the day she was born, she was different than anyone else in the world. Not that she was told that, anyway. Growing up, she grew up as a rather high class fire nation citizen with her father being an admiral for the Fire Nation and very close friends with Firelord Guo since their early childhood days. And, while she was sheltered, she had many friends but, she found her closest friends in the daughter and son of the Firelord, Culian and Wei. While growing up, she was closer to the former. She was also close to Wei but, for different reasons. Growing up at least on Natsumi's side, she loved to challenge him in anything and that love of challenging him and most likely beating him (If you asked her) only got bigger when they both discovered that they could firebend, something she found out at the age of eight. But, it wasn't just because she wanted to beat him, but she also wanted the both to grow together as people and as firebenders. At the young age of eleven, there was a knock at their door in the early hours of the day. Natsumi didn't know this at first but, this was the day that would change her life forever. Her father answered the door and her mother woke her up. And what she saw when she walked out of her room was the Fire Sages bowing down with her followed shortly by her parents. When she asked why they were all bowing, the high sage got up and told her that she was the Avatar. This lead to an argument by her parents, asking the sages why they told her at the young age of 11 instead of waiting until her 16th birthday like they were suppose to. They replied how they and others sensed a great evil coming and it was her duty to stop it before it begun. Sumi was terrified, in ten short minutes she went from being a carefree, talented firebending girl to being the Avatar, someone who had to keep the whole world in balance and to keep it safe from whatever evil they saw coming. She had no idea when this evil was coming and had no idea how to even start learning the other elements.

Her parents, ordered her to keep it quiet. To not tell a soul, that once she told people her life would never be like it was. She would never be able to live a normal life, she would have to go from place to place to learn the three other elements. Have to go through years and years of training and discipline just to have to protect the world until they next Avatar. If she wasn't scared enough, this was the final blow. She never wanted to tell anyone. She wanted things to stay as they were, forever if possible. As the years went by, she read more and more on the Avatars before her. Finding a close relationship to Aang, an air monk who stopped the Fire Nation and Firelord Oazi from destroying everything. He too, was told before he was ready and ran away because he wasn't ready. They only were able to talk twice and both times, it was an accident but, whenever they did, it got her one step closer to wanting to protect the world. Only to back a few steps when she saw how much she loved her life; her parents, her school, and more importantly Wei. Over the years they had gotten closer and closer to one another. And by the age of fifteen {15} they were together, she was the strength and support he needed, Whenever he felt an ounce of doubt, she would be there for him and tell him that even if he didn't believe he could be Firelord, she would be there for him and fix any messes he made. It was made cleat to the both of them that for many years now, their two fathers have arranged for them to marry.

And while she loved him... A lot, she hated the idea of being told who she was going to marry and when she was going to do it. She was never one to be okay with taking orders about her person life and this was the one thing, she couldn't do for her family. And, she wasn't going to go through with it, she had planned on leaving for awhile in order to figure everything out. To grow up and travel. And to learn how to be the Avatar. {Age 16} That is until something happened. Her older sister, Mai had told people that she was the Avatar and that she was going to take away Wei from Sumi. Being only sixteen years old, Sumi was thinking when she challenged her sister in an Agni Kai. They fought and it went on for hours, neither one wanting to give in. Her father begged both of them to stop but, after 5 hours of firing back at each other. Sumi finally had her beat but when she was standing above her, about to burn her... She couldn't do it. She just backed away saying she couldn't. "A sister, burning a sister wasn't right esp. over lies and a boy." Her sister was never one to love Sumi so when Sumi was about to turn, Mai let off a huge fire blast to left marks all across her back and even the left side of her face. And when she was down on the ground, crying. She could hear the crackle of lightning about to strike, she saw the flicker and right when she thought it was going to finish her off. She heard her father start screaming in pain, Mai screamed, her mother was shouting while taking Hoshi, their youngest child inside. Sumi moved to her side to her father shaking. Right when Mai was about to come near the two of them, Sumi blacked out. From what her brother told her, she had somehow went into the Avatar State. Hearing about it and how she burned her sister and almost killed her, terrified her to hear and before he could finish telling the rest of what had happened, she had made him leave her room. She couldn't hear anymore. Within a few hours, Natsumi was waiting at her father's bedroom door with bandages all over her body and face, hoping to see him and see why he did what he did. He was a man of great honor, and what she did while brave, could have been seen as a disgrace to some.

After waiting there, all night she finally found out who was taking so long. Firelord Guo, only the two men know what on Earth they were talking about for so long but, Sumi didn't care all she cared about was seeing her father and saying sorry for being such a coward and embarrassing him. Before she even had the chance to finish, her father had her in a hug saying that what she did gave her great honor. That he was proud of her for showing restraint and not hurting her own flesh and blood. She had more honor than Mai ever would. And when asked why he did it, He said "You are meant for great things, Natsumi. You have an amazing destiny ahead of you and I couldn't let that come to an end. Even if it meant ending mine like this..." After all the years of making her be afraid of being the avatar, here he was saying how amazing she would be one day. And with this, she was able to put together that he knew forever, from the day she was born he knew about her destiny and just wanted to keep her safe for as long as he could. And, while it seems bizarre that he didn't want her to leave, it also made sense to her. After what had happened to Avatar Asama, he didn't want to lose his own daughter. Two days later her father died, her sister was sent away, and her brother left to go back fighting in the military. One day, after venting with Wei and just crying for once, she went home to find the house close to empty; photos, food, supplies, all gone. With a small letter saying only one word on it from her mother, 'Sorry'. At this time, she realized that she was now alone and even if she wanted to leave in order to avoid getting married to Wei. He and his father and sister, was all she had left and she couldn't lose them.

She did start acting cold to him around this time, thinking he didn't love her like he used to because she no longer saw herself as the 'perfect queen' like the ones before her, they were always quiet, kind and beautiful and from birth Sumi wasn't quiet and kind, but she was seen as attractive. And with her scars, she felt like he didn't want her anymore. Around the age of 18 (closer to age 19), she finally told him about her being the Avatar. She never said she when she was leaving but, she couldn't keep it a secret anymore. She needed to tell him. And after that, when they were alone in their room they would talk about it... a lot, more than anything else and sometimes when Sumi would think about leaving they would start arguing with one another. And it always, ended with Sumi accusing him of just being jealous that it was her and not him who was chosen to be the Avatar, before her storming off to go on a walk to calm herself down.

And on one of these walks at the age of nineteen {19}, she finally realized that it was time for her to go. She had started hearing stories about this secret society that was starting to take over cites in the Earth Kingdom, how they were small but powerful and she knew this was the evil she was going to have to face. And as much as it killed her to talk to Wei about it, she had to told him about what she had to do and how she had hid from the world long enough. For nineteen years, she let this evil come close to power and because of it, the Water tribes have surrendered with the Earth Kingdom not far behind. She told him every night she loved him and would kiss him like it would be the last time, because even she didn't know when she would feel ready to leave. But, one day she just got out of their bed and left. She thought in order for both of them to gain closure from the love they shared and do what was best for not just them, but their destinies, she had to leave without letting anyone know. She left him a letter stating that once it was all said and done and she feels like the world is back in balance, "she promises to return to him but, until then she wants him to continue being the amazing guy she knows he is. And that no matter what is said, he will be an outstanding firelord." But, of course just to irritate him and show that she was much more clever, she hid it in only a place he would know and remember if he actually remembered to think on his feet like she had told him for years now.

Once leaving the Fire Nation, she found someone trying to sell their flying bison. She gave the merchant all of her gold pieces, in exchange seeing that this was the only way she would be able to reach all the places she needed to go. Her first stop was the Air temples to look for a master, but unlike before she couldn't learn there. {Age 20} The Tsumi Ribasu was trained in tracking and if they found out that the Avatar was alive, they would come after her without a second thought. To her surprise, she was too late. Everything was deserted, which only made it clearer how late she was to start her training. It made her ashamed with seeing this temple destroyed and it was her fault for not starting sooner. She left and found herself in the woods camping out when she could hear people going through the trees. Call her defensive and ill-tempered but, the only way she caught one, was by getting angry and burning down the branch the airbender was on. He lead her to the rest of her people where she explained that she was the Avatar and she needed a teacher to help her learn airbending in order to stop the people that killed so many of their own. A young girl, not too much older than her volunteered named Weifeng. A rather, irritating girl who is always saying that she can't master the element of freedom, if she doesn't open up. Something she refuses to do with someone she just met. But, with her master decided the two set off to find her waterbending teacher, _________ (More to be added later). They then found her earthbending teacher, Jing Kwan. A stubborn, ill-temper, cocky, pain in her butt earthbender. And, while she is not starting earthbending for a while, she can already tell that this teacher might get on her last nerve. And before stopping at an already destroyed, Southern air temple. They found themselves on the island of Kyoshi rescuing one of the last warriors. She knew taking another passenger was risky but, Kyoshi was a past life and she felt it was her duty to save the one thing that has been around for centuries.

With her team chosen and their hideout for the time being found, its time for the Avatar to start down the long road that is her destiny. After seeing what all these people gone through, she knows now that it's her fault for abandoning the world, letting it go out of balance as much as it has. And even though she knows she can't bring back their loved ones, she does know that she can and will stop the Tsumi Ribasu before they throw the world out of balance anymore. But, she has a long way to go if she wants to save anything. She knows that she left for awhile but, she's here now and now is full aware that even if she hates her destiny, it is set for her and has to follow it. {Age 21}

"Only you can bring balance into the world like the Avatars before you. Tonrar is getting stronger and stronger with each passing day, and only you have the power to defeat him..--" The pale yet, tan woman said as she stared down at the young Avatar who had begged for advice from one of her past lives. "But Avatar Asama, How? How can I stop him when he knows everything about me? My past, my weak points, everything. He knows them and... and I know nothing about him." Sumi said as she looked towards the past Avatar in desperation. Through her travels, she had found out that this man, the leader of the Tsumi Ribasu knew things about her that only doctors and friends would know. And, the truth was to the Avatar, he was a complete mystery.

"I know you are afraid, Avatar Natsumi. But, if you do not defeat him by the time of the new year, something-- Something unimaginable will be released, ending the world as you know it. As she spoke the finally words, the calm mountains behind the two of them faded and it all went black. She turned around to see the world around her only to look back and see Asama gone. "Wha-- No! No, come back. I have more questions! Please!" Natsumi stood up and looked around only to hear a chuckle behind her. The masked man stepped forward with his swords dragging against the concrete floor. The young girl stuck towards the masked man only to miss several times. She shook her head before running the opposite way, hearing Tonrar start sprinting as well but it all came to an end when the man grunted, jumped, and--

~~~~~~~~~
Natsumi sprang up from her slumber as she huffed in and out, trying to regain her breathing. She put on hand to her chest as she could feel her heart pounding. She cleared her throat before getting up and making her way towards the single window in her room of the Southern Air Temples. She looked out to see the sun rising as she sighed. With every passing day it became more and more surreal that this wasn't a dream and that this was her life now. She had all this pressure and all these lives she had to keep safe. Something she was never used to back home. She never had much responsibility and now... Now she felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders and sooner or later she was just going to collapse. She took her hair out of the bun and let it run down her face as she used her comb from home to brush it back up.
Right as she was about to go back to sleep, she heard a small but noticeable crash to the ground. Making her automatic, go into defense mode. She quietly made her way out of her room as she looked down the hall to hear not one other rooms stirring. She silently made her way to open courtyard like area only to see and hooded figure looking through their items. Natsumi, while young was far from naive about the Air Temples. The Air Acolytes left the temple when Natsumi was at least sixteen. Meaning, no one should know that this place would be occupied. The firebender took a step forward before kicking towards the man, letting the fire catch him off guard. She propelled herself towards him before having see the man run towards a thin, almost invisible rope. She cut him off, throwing more fireballs towards him as she let her anger take over. The man tried to fight back, but was obviously terrified. The hooded figure took off his hood to reveal a man, she had never seen before. "Stop! Please, I beg you."
"Why are you here?! Who sent you?! And how did you find us?!" She asked as she kept her arms up, ready to attack in case he made any wrong moves. "I'm so sorry." The tan man said through his sobs. "What are you talking about? Who are you with?" The man didn't answer as he continued crying, the furious Avatar kept her arms towards him as she looked him up and down, noticing the small, gold insignia on his jacket. Her eyes widened as she took a deep breath in. "Oh, no."
"The Tsumi." She looked at him before running off to warn the others. "Everyone get up! The Tsumi's coming!" She ran through the narrow hallways and through the other courtyards just in case someone decided to have an early morning training session. Natsumi made her way into her room, to grab the one thing she kept in her room which was the maps of where they planned on going. She didn't trust anyone with them for reasons like this, if the Tsumi were to get their hands on this, they would know the team's entire plan to stop them. She clutched the map tightly as she felt an explosion vibrate the ground under her. They were going to blow the temple out of the sky by blowing the mountain it lied on. The young girl heard footsteps coming from all parts of the temple, all making their ways to the courtyard to protect what they could of one of the last remaining Air Temples.
She rubbed her face as she ran back into the main courtyard to protect her sky bison, Nini, Team Avatar's only way of transportation. She watched the mysterious man used his airbending to fly himself away from the temple and on to a hot air balloon, not far from where they were. She groaned as she took a step make before breathing out about to strike. The young Avatar locked eyes with one of the captains. He mouthed something to hooded man next to him that Sumi couldn't make out. But, it became clear when canisters made their way towards the open area.
She gasped as she used her basic airbending to surround her and the rest of the team in a ball of air to protect them from the gases that were released. She let it down once the dust cleared for the most part and went back to trying to shoot down as many balloons as she could. She watched as others fell from the other benders, but after a moment of analyzing the swarm of hot air balloons she finally realized, "There's too many of them. We need to get out of here before they get on the ground." And by the looks of it, they didn't have much time before the members of the Tsumi were close enough to get off their balloons and attack.
"Alright, in....and out." Jing repeated to himself as he took deep, slow breaths as he stared down a small coin laying on a table. "Come on Jing, metal is still Earth. And Earth is your bitch." He muttered to himself. He widened his legs, and took a firm stance. He clenched his fists in a claw-like fashion, and placed his left hand over his right, with his left palm pointed outward, and his right facing himself. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath in. He opened his eyes, and slowly exhaled his breath. As he exhaled he thrust his hands forward.
He looked down at the coin, which didn't move an inch. "Damn! I can heat rocks to over a thousand degrees! Why can't I move a stupid coin!?" Jing shouted in anger. He was in a fairly secluded area on the side of the mountain the Air Temple sat on, a place where he could train, and make as much noise as he wants without the others getting into his business. Jing picked up the coin, and put it in his pocket. He looked down at the table, and huffed at it. He flicked his wrist, and a small pool of lava formed underneath it, instantly burning it to a crisp.
"Stupid metalbending..." Jing huffed to himself as he flicked his wrist again, this time getting rid of the lava. "How is it that I can do that, and not move a stupid coin?!" He groaned in annoyance. He just doesn't get it, he understands how metalbending works, and he knows there is Earth in metal, but when he tries to bend it, nothing. It's pretty annoying, especially for a guy who has already mastered an even rarer form of Earthbending. Jing stomped on the ground, and a slab of rock roughly shaped like a chair sprung up.
Jing sat down on it, and took out his coin. He rubbed his thumb on the coin as he stared at it. He started rubbing the edge of his green scarf, wondering why he can't get the hang of it. He's suppose to teach the avatar Earthbending, he feels that if he can't even learn this, then what chance does he have at teaching her? "Whatever." He growled as he shoved the coin back into his pocket. He got out of his makeshift chair as he heard Natsumi shouting about something. "Can't leave them alone for one minute." He groaned.
Jing then felt the shaking of a explosion. "Good, I need something to smash!" He smirked as he created a pillar underneath his feet to launch himself back up to the temple. Jing rushed to his room, and grabbed his things. It was just a backpack with a sleeping bag, rocks for him to bend, and some dried meat. He keeps it simple. He causally walked out of his room, and towards the courtyard where everyone else was gathering around the flying bison.
He was the last to show up, and wasn't in the air shield that was made to protect them from the capsules. Instead he made a small pyramid out of Earth to protect himself. Once everything was done exploding, he cracked his shield open in half. He levitated one of the half's, and took aim at the nearest balloon. He sent the slab of Earth flying towards the balloon, hitting it directly in the balloon part. A grin crept across his face as he cracked his knuckles, this was obviously his idea of fun.
Jing swept his right arm horizontal in front of himself to create a large pool of lava. A unsettling laugh started to crackle from Jing. He launched several lobs of lava at the balloons, shooting them all out of the sky. "Now we're having fun! Any of you Princesses gonna put up a fight?!" Jing chuckled as he continued to shoot them down.
He continued to lob globs of lava at the balloons. He heard Natsumi saying something about retreating, but he didn't pay much mind to her. "Come on! Kick off your dress, and high heels Princess, it's just getting fun!" Jing smirked. He stomped his feet, and made two pillars shot up from the ground diagonally on each side of him. He dug his fingers into them. The pillars started to crack with a orange-red light, and they started to produce heat. He threw the pillars at a couple of balloons, and they exploded on impact. All while leting out a maniacal laughter.
Breathe in... Hold it... Breathe out. Miyuki bit down on her lip to keep from crying out as she changed the bloodied bandages on her torso. Cleaning her collection of wounds was always a daunting task, but she was getting better at it and dealing with the pain that came with unwrapping and rewrapping. Miyuki let out a collective sigh of relief when it was over and leaned on her sleeping bag in the small room of the Air Temple she was residing in with Team Avatar. Someday's it was still hard to believe that Miyuki was traveling with the someone so important. Her missions with the Kyoshi Warriors had always been to protect esteemed members of the earth kingdom. Never had Miyuki dreamed that she would be traveling with the savior of the universe and soon to be master of all four elements. Other days it was all too apparent that the avatar was still a human girl despite her lineage and thus still had humanly burdens and worries.
Miyuki placed her first aid kit back in her bag and pulled her shirt back on. She hadn't unpacked any of her belongings and only kept the essentials like her sleeping bag and kunai belt out and even most days she would roll the sack up and place it in her bag in case they needed to be ready to move. So far though things were quiet and Natsumi had been able to train in peace. Miyuki wished she could contribute to the avatar's training but the only things she could do were fight and treat wounds and so she did her duties with diligence and without complaint.
The black and white haired female suddenly felt very tired, it was late already and she should have been asleep hours ago. Miyuki lay down and closed her eyes, curling up on her side as sleep crept up on her. It was a mercifully dreamless sleep, which was wonderful because normally Miyuki was plagued by nightmares and the deaths of her comrades but tonight the Kyoshi Warrior was able to relax in the darkness that enveloped her mind.
"Everyone wake up! The Tsumi's coming!" The sound sliced through the darkness like a knife, sending the memory of that night into her mind and making Miyuki sit up abruptly, terribly alert to the fact that they were under attack. She stuffed her sleeping sack into her bag and strapped her belt on, leaving her shoes behind as she ran out the door. When Miyuki stepped into the courtyard where Natsumi's sky bison was just waking up she saw that they were too late, they were surrounded by the enemy. Miyuki grabbed two kunai, prepared to fight but Natsumi protected them from the Tsumi's gas attack with a shield made of air. She grit her teeth, feeling useless among the benders but determined to protect what was important. "Where's Jing?" Miyuki inquired suddenly, noticing that the earth bender was not among those under the shield.
Natsumi let the air bubble down and declared that the numbers were overwhelming. Just then Jing made an appearance and knocked a balloon out of the sky with a giant rock. There were already some on the ground and Miyuki placed her bag on the sky bison's saddle before throwing one kunai into the back of a member of the Tsumi and jumping down to parry the attack of another. She grabbed her bloodied weapon out of the body and prepared for more, gritting her teeth and thinking of the Kyoshi Warriors the Tsumi Ribasu had killed.
"This is for my sisters."
It had been a long morning for Mozuyuki, he rubbed his eyes, he was hungover again. His head was throbbing as he braced himself on the wall, inching along it swaying slightly. The floor underneath his rocked and he smiled bitterly. Damn, I overdid it last night. . . Where's my training dummy? I want to train. . . Mozuyuki looked down the long hallway and noticed a man standing guard at his father's "private" room door.
"Hey, you. . . What're you doing?"Mozuyuki said with an agitated tone to his voice. In all honesty though he knew what this man was doing, Mozuyuki's father always had guards, everywhere. The man was about to stutter out a reply but Mozuyuki just patted the man's shoulder and kept shuffling down the hall. He wanted to make his way down to the training yard. Centering himself he took a deep breath and shook his head lightly as he began walking straighter and straighter.
Walking correctly again all he had was his headache, looking from left to right slowly as he walked into the roofed courtyard he saw his training dummy sitting in the middle of yard, beat to Hell, barely holding together. With a pained grin he sprinted towards it, jumping up and delivering a powerful turning-back-kick to the dummy with a loud battle cry. Snapping the dummy in half. Breathing heavily he looked down at the broken wooden dummy, it lay at his feet in splintered pieces. Mozuyuki needed a new one now.
He reached across himself and pulled out his mother's sword, laying it in front of him as he sat cross-legged in the courtyard, he closed his eyes slowly. Right as he was about to slip into his meditative trance one of the grunts of the Tsumi came running out of the eastern wing of the complex.
"Young Master! Quickly, our attempts to find the Avatar at the southern air temple was successful. Although, we're out-matched. They request immediate backup sir and your father. . . He is busy." The man in front of Mozuyuki looked distraught.
"Your brother was in that raid wasn't he Jun?"The man's face contorted into tears as he fell onto the ground.
Don't let the others see you like this, you know they'll murder you. . . Prepare my mount. I'm flying out to meet them."
The man scrambled to his feet, wiping his face, then he turned and ran off. Mozuyuki sighed and sheathed his mother's sword before jogging after the man. Adjusting his tie, Mozuyuki climbed onto his flying mount, he knew for a fact thanks to the nervous fellow, that the Southern Air Temple wasn't very far by air. It was too damn early in the morning for all of this, but it was for appearances, if his father had ordered this, it was to be done.
With a click of his tongue Mozuyuki was up and flying quickly towards the direction of the air temple. Knowing when he saw the balloons he was there. He readied himself to attack, in all honesty he had just wanted a peaceful day, but if the squadron was failing then his father would want him to assist.
After a bit she noticed his balloons igniting and screams of death coming from them as lava was lobbed at the balloons. Mozuyuki's eyes widened slightly but snapped out of his momentary shock, he knew the Avatar was talented. He would need the Avatar's help in killing his father. Bringing in his mount to land around back from the Avatar's group. He walked onto the platform they were all occupying, it seemed to him that earth-bending fellow was enjoying himself far too much. Then, he saw her. The Avatar. They had an air shield but that dropped and the second it did he climbed up onto her bison, shockingly it didn't attack him, it must have deemed him honest.
Reaching over he tapped the Avatar's shoulder and looked at her quizzically.
"Am I late to the party?" He asked sitting next to her as the earth-bender and the other woman was killing off Tsumi members in a large amount with kunai.
"May I add that we should all just retreat before more of these guys show up?" Mozuyuki said calmly as he reclined in the saddle of the Avatar's bison.
"I've always liked the look of these bison you know. It's lovely to meet one in person."
Mingxia squinted at the early morning sky and stretched magnificently, groaning in pleasure as she felt various joints pop. She had been up since dawn to watch the sunrise, which had been a ritual of hers for many years now, especially after leaving the army. She climbed to the highest point of the training yard in the dark, and here she could see every point in the compound, a rather satisfying accomplishment at first, which, after many days of climbing had turned into a sideshow of sorts.
The sun was bright in the low sky by now and the orange dust of sunrise had turned into the gleam of morning. Xia looked down and out across the compound to see it beginning to bustle with quiet life, just as it did every morning. Today easy especially busy, as there had been word of the Avatar in an Air Temple near by. That would explain the strange feeling that she felt in her gut. She felt like yawning. Last night had been a mere annoyance, after a full day of meetings all she had wanted to do was sleep, but a severe headache had prevented her from doing so. So she drank three glasses of whiskey, just enough to distract her from the ache, and had fallen asleep still dressed, on her bed. She had still woken up early, as that was how her body was tuned, and her headache was luckily gone, but Xia still felt tired.
She had meditated as the sun rose, opening up her Chakra paths as her mother had taught her to do many years before. She supposed that it was nearly time for her to go fulfill any duties she was given today and rose slowly to climb back down from her perch. The easiest way to get to Tonrar's office was through the training yard, so she slid down the roof and landed on the ground just outside, turning to enter just as she heard a cry and a thump. She peeked in and saw Mozuyuki staring at the broken remnants of a training dummy. She watched him take out a sword and sit to meditate and crept through the room quietly, so as to not interrupt him. As she reached the door she was nearly thrown off balance by a Tsumi member bursting through the door and calling for Tonrar's son. She turned to watch the scene unfold.
It seemed as though they had found the avatar, Xia didn't know how she felt about that, but she was content, she supposed, to at least tag along for the ride, maybe fight a bit. She backtracked to her rooftop spot, climbing quickly, and then took a running leap, shooting streams of fire around her boots like rockets to follow Mozuyuki. She checked to make sure she had everything she wanted, which she did of course, since the feeling her gut gave her when she woke up told her that she needed to be prepared. She watched as Mozuyuki flew off into the distance and followed close behind. Something was telling her that she shouldn't be going to this fight, so she stayed as calm as she could, which was very calm.
She reached the Temple and frowned, a natural expression on her face. Glaring down at the group encased in air bubbles and what seemed to be a pyramid of earth, she stayed close to the balloons, dodging shots of lava and fire, and carefully remaining neutral. She saw Mozuyuki stop next to the group and faintly heard his unusually animated voice.
Am I late to the party?"
He reclined hear those she could see in the bubble, the Avatar being one of them. Goodness, Natsumi had grown in both spirit and body.
"May I add that we should all just retreat before more of these guys show up? I've always liked the look of these bison you know. It's lovely to meet one in person."
Xia raised an eyebrow, interested in the boy's actions, she figured she should send a message to Tonrar and whistled sharply, a messenger hawk flew to her hovering side and she took a coin out of her pocket. It was a Southern Air Temple coin, she had several from each nation, and tied it to the hawk's leg. He would know what she meant, if he didn't know already that is.
"To Tonrar," she commanded, and the hawk flew off nearly instantly. She tensed as lava hit the balloon in front of her, sending it falling far to the ground below and exposing her to the small group trying to make its escape.
She held her head high and looked down at the group, slowly beginning to descend towards them, on guard, and ready to attack if need be.
"It's good to see you all, isn't it now?" she glared, per usual.
