Lupora Morte

Lupora calmly watched as the ship came to the docks, carrying her new shipment of humans. It took awhile for her to plan out this competition, with humans so rare now days it was hard to get enough to get her hands on these creatures...Though since she is a long time dealer of these affairs it was easier for her to get humans then most dealers. She smoothed out her kimono, making herself appear rather regal. She grew quite fond of kimonos from the Japanese cultures, as it matched greatly with her appearance. She quietly watched, as the workers rolled out some of the new shipments of humans, a small devilish smirk appearing on her face. Lupora couldn't wait to see the new shipment.

The first one they rolled out in a cage was a red headed human. She looked down at the form she was holding. Skylar Fontain. Not that she cared much about names...hell...whoever wanted her could name her anything they wanted. She flipped to the next human on her list as a blue haired human was rolled out. Olivia Carlson. She looked quite young...to young for breeding purposes. Lupora smiled at the transporter, and said "Thank you for your trouble, please put them over there." She pointed to the sandy beach. The worker nodded, and rolled the two cages over there, dropping them without a care.

Lupora smiled at the workers again, and watched as they disappeared back into the ship. She turned toward the humans in the cage, her smile turned to a chilling one with a predetor look in her eyes. "Now...what sort of meat do we have here?"

A cold sweat breaks out as my cage is rolled out. I grip onto the edge and look around as I feel the lady look at me. My blue hair is windswept from the ship and the cage feels like it's closing in on me. My foot begins to fall asleep, I've been sitting on them for hours now.
"Thank you for your trouble, please put them over there." I prepare myself as the cage gets rolled again. As the cage stops I shift position so I'm sitting with my legs crossed. I look at the lady in her pretty robe, and she glares at us. I look down and shiver. "Now...what sort of meat do we have here?" I cough and look over at the other cage, a girl with red hair sits there.
"Um. . . Ma'am, why are we here?" I ask, timidly.

Lupora licked her lips as she watched the reaction from the younger human girl. Human fear was something she fed on, being a being of death, she thrived on things like those emotions. It was always delicious to see human fear though, these creatures that thought they could live forever. And look what happened? They fell to the creatures of the dark-ones they thought only existed in legends.

"Um...Ma'am, why are we here?"

She heard the younger human speak-a daring choice she may add. Most humans when they fall into Lupora's hand remain silent, and wish they died. She fixed her red gaze on the girl, ice laced her voice as she spoke.

"As expected of a human offspring...they can't seem to see a big picture..." Lupora's lips formed a cruel smirk as she looked at the human, wondering what it would be like to use a bit of her power to see her in agony-she often did that while training humans, but held back on this one. After all, master should be able to train them...no? It wasn't her problem-it only became her problem when demons come back unsatisfied with their human.

"If you must know...you are now an object." She said lightly, nonchalant even. After all, this was just her job that she enjoyed throughly.

I flinched when I heard her speak next, her voice cold. "As expected of a human offspring...they can't seem to see a big picture..." Big picture? What is this? Why is she in a cage? "If you must know...you are now an object." I look up at her cruel smile, I can see in her eyes that she enjoys this. A-an object?
"Why? What is the reason that we're objects? I'm sure there's a good reason." I say, my voice not cracking and my eyes determined. There has to be a good reason for this. There's a reason for everything, good or bad, right or wrong.

"Why? What is the reason that we're objects? I'm sure there's a good reason."

This caused her to let out a short cruel and cold laugh. "My, My, you must be oblivious to the world." She stated coolly. She didn't care about that stare she had. It was something she saw often in her line of work. How many had she broken easily after a day's training? Every one of them...and she always had humans to sell or give away. It was easy once they glimpse into her eyes. Her eyes could allow them to see their worst nightmare of dying-a tactic she used often when dealing with determined brats like these.

"This world is no longer yours, you filthy lower beings." She stated coldly, glaring daggers at the blue haired brat. She put venom in her voice as she said "And you would do well not to look me in the eye brat." She was tempted to use her powers on the girl just to shut her up. She couldn't help but hate determined little brats like that...but then again, that's what makes them fun and entertaining.

Skylar Fontain

As Syklar was being loaded off the boat by a male, demon, she looked at him and shivers went down her spine. Skylar quickly looked away from him and she looked to the side, to see another girl, but younger, and with blue hair, being loaded off as well. Skylar only sighed, she didn't want to be here, and I'm sure the little girl didn't want to either. She kept silent as she heard someone say, ''Thank you for your trouble, please put them over there.'' The lady said as she pointed to the beach, as Skylar was put down, the cage and her was dropped and she slightly moaned as she was lowered. Skylar shook her head and looked around, they were on a new island, and they were under this lady's care now.

Skylar watched as the man left, and the boat left also, she sighed as her last hope of freedom swam away. Skylar was startled when she heard the lady say, '' Now...what sort of meat do we have here?'' Skylar took a deep breath as she studied the lady from head to toe, she looked like a demon, but something seemed a little different with her. Skylar was about to answer her when she heard the girl with blue hair say, '' Um. . . Ma'am, why are we here?'' Skylar sighed with some relief, she was glad this girl wasn't as immature as she thought. Skylar was going to talk again, but the lady cut her off this time, '' As expected of a human offspring...they can't seem to see a big picture...'' the second Skylar heard that rude comment about her race, she began very angry and her balled her fists up, and kept them by her sides. Skylar looked at the girl in the other cage and felt sorry for her, she reminded her of her little sister at home.

Skylar felt awfull and looked away, she looked back at the woman and stayed quiet yet again because she began to talk again, '' If you must know...you are now an object.'' Skylar went cold, her body went numb at the though of the many things that could happen to a girl Skylar's age. Skylar blinked a few times and shifted her sitting position, she pulled her legs up to her chest and relaxed her chin on her knees. Skylar felt warm yet cold, she was wearing, jeans, a tee shirt, her ling sleeve, dark jean jacket and converse, so she couldn't have been cold from the weather,Skylar then thought maybe it was the woman.

Skylar looked back at the girl when she said, '' Why? What is the reason that we're objects? I'm sure there's a good reason.'' Skylar nodded and said to herself quietly,'' True, so what is it?'' Skylar sighed and looked back up, she looked into the woman's eyes, and she felt death, and loss. Skylar quickly looked away and looked back at the girl, if they could stay together, Skylar would do her best to take care of this girl, no matter what happens, she promised herself that she would do that. Skylar then heard the woman say, '' My, My, you must be oblivious to the world.'' Skylar wasn't, so she knew part of it, but not all. Skylar took a deep breath, and didn't take another looked at the woman, she got all she wanted and she never would take another look as long as she could keep herself from.

Skylar looked around the beach, it used to be beautiful, well, that she heard of anyway. She always wanted to know what the old world looked like, was it pretty, was it full of life? Skylar sighed as she heard the woman talk again, '' This world is no longer yours, you filthy lower beings'' Skylar got even more angry at that remark, she decided to stand up to that. Skylar gor up as much as she could and said, '' Hey, we're not all like that. Some are in fact smart and strong, so you shouldn't talk.'' Skylar sat back down, for the second she said that, she felt good, but then she just felt awefull and stupid. Skylar then pulled her knees back up to her chest and tried to escape reality, as she would do quit often now a days. Skylar didn't even care what the lady said next, she's sure it wasn't important, so she just blocked it out.

Lupora laughed coldly at the two human's remarks. "Looks like the red head has some spirit as well...much like how humans your age would be." Lupora laughed again, before kneeling in front of olivia's cage. "The way you talk...just how aren't you lower then us? Humans were the one who started the fight...though then again, a little one like you would know nothing of that." She said, her eyes glaring at the girl. "Oh, and you should watch how you speak towards us." She smirked, cruelty written all over her face. "Some demons won't take well into smart-mouths like you brats."

Lupora's patience was already running thin. She always hated getting young brats that don't know their place in this world. Usually, when she trained humans such as these they killed themselves before she was finished. Should she try to train these brats a bit before the others arrive? Temtping...but maybe some other demon would like to do it.

Skylar Fontain

Skylar looked up at the woman and smirked, she knew this woman wouldn't hurt her. Who would want a hurt slave, or whatever they would be used for. Since Skylar was older, she would be taken and used as something far more than just a slave. She was actually scared, since she could be treated horribly, or she could be treated nicely, but what creature would be nice now a days? Skylar just kept quiet and looked away. She then looked at the girl and said, '' My name is Skylar Fontain, you?'' She tried to force a smile, but she just couldn't. Not in a place an time like this. Skylar then laid back and listened to the woman's next words, '' Looks like the red head has some spirit as well...much like how humans your age would be.'' Skylar smirked and looked away, she honestly could care less of what this woman said.

She just put her head back on the cage and listened, '' The way you talk...just how aren't you lower then us? Humans were the one who started the fight...though then again, a little one like you would know nothing of that. Oh, and you should watch how you speak towards us." Some demons won't take well into smart-mouths like you brats." Skylar sighed and closed her eyes, she thought maybe she could get some sleep, just maybe.

I thought about her question, as she continued speaking. How aren't we inferior?
"We aren't inferior because we found the wrong in our actions, because we can take whatever you throw at us. Because we were able to survive In a world that looks at us like pets instead of living beings. That's how we aren't inferior."
I look at the other girl, I think she said her name was Skylar. I may be young, but I do know that much. I know this demon, creature is close to attacking me, but I don't care. I never met any other human besides my dad so I know we must be hard to find. "Go ahead and do what you want to me, I wont break. You can hold me to that." I look at her again, knowing that my words upset her. She has quite a temper, and I'm pushing her.

#, as written by Ever
This.. this can't be happening! shrieked Lyra's panicked thoughts, fear and adrenaline coursing through her veins. Currently, the female human was being carried by two demons, one holding her upper body, the other holding the lower half, both with a tight grip.. the reason quite evident. The precious "cargo" as she was called was furiously writhing in their grasps, her booted legs kicking out with a force that caused for a wary hold and attention. Trying to the best of her ability, Lyra twisted around her spine to glare venomously up at the horned creature who was desperately trying to hold onto the teenager. "Let... me.. go!" came the hissing voice, the thrashing of her feet more violent. It was at this point, just as they stopped briefly in front of the unloading ship, that the human girl managed to landed an upwards kick right under one of her captor's chin. Instinctively, the bulk of a creature dropped Lyra's legs to groan in pain, one of his scaly hands roughly clutching the throbbing area. Hmph.. that'll teach them! came her smug thoughts seeing a trickle of purple "blood" dribble down from his mouth.. of course, she regretted it instantly.

Training a glowing yellow on the the fragile human, the inhuman being let out a hiss of agitation before slowing getting up. Stalking over to his comrade and their prize, the lizard-man sent a quick flicker of his eyes, a warning to the other not to interfere, before reaching out with an untraceable movement. Latching his clawed fingers around Lyra's neck, the demon easily lifted the fragile specimen off the sandy ground below, giving a slight squeeze. Immediately, an overwhelming panic filled Lyra's mind as the much needed oxygen was cut off by the unforgiving claws. Trying to feebly kick the lizard-humanoid away, the girl glared down at the creature with a loathing so strong, one may assume the human could feel nothing but. Giving a tch of annoyance, the kidnapper gave the human a simple toss in a random direction, not even caring about the curious onlooking spectators.

Landing forcibly on the sand, Lyra managed to pull her body to a sitting position before gasping lightly as the precious substance rushed back into her lungs. Delicately rubbing her tapered fingers around the redden neck, the human finally lifted her eyes... to see hooves. Oh this is just bloody great. came her sarcastic tone as those mauve eyes travelled up the being's form. Then they landed on that piercing yellow gaze. It was an odd reaction for Lyra, to feel frozen in place, but part of her couldn't help but become a deer in headlights seeing this demon's unnaturally bright stare.

The motion of being suddenly picked up yanked the teenaged girl from her trance, the fighting attitude now back. "Oi! Stop that!" came her demanding tone, a look of fire flickering within those cat-eyes. Before she knew it, Lyra's surroundings were consumed by darkness, several new presences making her aware of the others in the room. Peering into the inky darkness, she could make out 2 cages with 2 girls in them.. and a white haired figure. Sending another violent thrash, Lyra gave a small growl to display how pissed off she truly was as the demons rashly explained that she was "without an owner".

Lupora sighed when she finally realized wat the girl was doing. SHe must have heard her annoyed tone, and was purposely doing that. With a sigh, she turned from the cages, choosing not to say anymore. Humans...they were all the same...a lot of them swore that promise yet she had not met one that could keep it.

The distant blare of a horn alerted Lupora of a newcomer. It wasn't a black ship which showed her cargo, but a white ship which showed passangers. It must be one of the competitors. She turned and started to walk toward the ship, and saw a figure jump down, causing sand to lift into the air. Then she saw one of the lizard men grab a human girl. Ah, A new arrival? Great. She could always use more humans to give away.

The lizard demon spoke, she noted the trail of purple blood from his lip. She chuckled slightly and said "My, My...it's one of those huh?" A hot-headed human. She looked down at the human in their clutches and nodded at the other demon. "I would be happy to take her." She said simply. Without another word, the lizard humanoid walked toward the other cages, and opened up the red-head's cage. They threw the newcomer harshly in, and locked it again.

Lupora turned toward the new demon and smiled at him. "Welcome, are you a competitor? I'm sorry you had to see that." She referred to that whole display that the new human had shown. "She is a new human I just received word of...we don't normally let them out of their cages." Her tone had changed from a moment ago, from harsh to light and airy.

I watched in disgust, and a bit of fear, as they threw the new girl into the other cage. I remember my own capture and how many cuts and bruises I gained. And I was in the middle of looking at a kitten too. Kitten. I rub my arm and notice the new demon speaking to the lady who had them captured. I wonder what exactly is happening, I know we were taken hostage. Well I doubt it would be a hostage if no one knows, wants, or cares that we were captured. Considering the way they talk I think we have to serve them or something. Maybe be their pets? I don't know, and I don't have the time to care. My head starts to feel fuzzy and the exhaustion of not sleeping for the whole capture along with the whole night and day before-hand get to me. I fall backwards and pass out.

"Olivia do you know what this is?" Papa says, his brown eyes looking down at me as he held a white fluffy creature in his arms. I shake my head but reach my arms up, jumping for the fluffy thing. The wind blows and the leaves cackle as if their laughing at us. The clothe and branches we had for a shelter shaking in the cold winter wind. I nearly fall over but stop myself, wobbling on one foot before getting it firmly back on the ground. Papa kneels down and puts the fluffy fur-ball in my arms. "It's a rabbit Olie, Darling. A white rabbit." I giggle and hug it.
"Like in your stories Papa? The one about the girl who fell down the whole?" I sit down in the cold snow, pulling the rabbit to my face. It turns its head and looks straight in my eyes. Then he rubs his nose on my face and curls up. Papa gets behind me and starts to brush my hair, also sitting in the snow. I had long since grown accustomed to the different seasons in this forest, and relished in the few times we went to town. Papa would tell me stories that he said everyone knew when he was a kid. Stories that he said were known before even he was born, before humans were rare and living in towns was dangerous.
"Yes Olie, like in the story. Now you and him need to go to bed darling." I whine and pet my new rabbit. Blowing my blue hair out of my face. I didn't want to go to sleep, we don't have food again.
"No story Papa?" I whine, getting up and setting the rabbit in the shelter. I wipe the freezing snow off my butt and look at him.
"No Olie, no story tonight. Now go off to bed darling." I hug him and get in the tent, getting under our one blanket and pulling the rabbit close.

Delbert Dougie Dizeot ~

Delbert watched bemusedly as a strange female came within inches of himself, though not once did he even think nor dare to get involved as he silently watched the girl in question being carted off and placed, somewhat harshly, in a cage of some sort. As his eyes trailed along the mix-bred creature took notice of the other two females who were also in cages, both equally as poor and depressing as the newcomer that joined them only moments before.

A moment or two after, Delbert snapped out of his curious trance and turned to face the white-haired being that welcomed him, before answering with a nod, “I am a competitor, and you must be Lupora Morte, the grand hostess of this competition, correct? My name is Delbert Dougie Dizeot. ”

Looking back onto the imprisoned humans, briefly, Delbert made his way over towards the cages and curiously peered into each one of them, cautiously. It was the first time he had seen a human up close, but despite this, he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. Already he could see the youngest one, the blue haired female, was tired and overwhelmed by her journey to this point. The other female, the red haired girl, seemed equally tired and out of place in the cage. However, the apparent new girl that had only just arrived seemed to show some feistiness still left within herself.

“Tell me, Lupora, how come these humans are kept in cages? Surely things as rare as humans ought to be kept in better conditions? These humans look practically dead already,” He questioned lightly, attempting not to upset the hostess with his wild curiosity. Although seemingly ageless, the odd-looking creature had a youthful manner and questions aplenty, unfortunately. “It’s a little depressing and these’s humans don’t seem all that… great.”

Stepping away from the cages Delbert shifted his stare back onto Lupora. “This is my first competition and I’m a little unfamiliar with how things work here, as you no doubt can tell. However, from what I can already understand I have to choose one of these humans?”

Skylar jolted awake as she heard her cage being opened. She looked around and saw another girl being thrown in, Skylar sighed and got up. She walked over to the girl, and touched her, she was warm and still breathing. Skylar took a sigh of relief and walked towards the cage door. Skylar looked out and saw a new demon like creature walk away from her cage, Skylar looked around the cage and saw nothing on the cage's floor. Skylar sighed and took off her sweat shirt, she placed it on the other girl and looked out of the cage. Skylat then looked at the demons who were talking and said, '' Hey! What are we supposed to do?!'' She looked at the girl behind her with a worried looked and looked back at the demons.

Lupora smiled at him and nodded, "Yes, I am the hostess. It's a pleasure to meet you." She watched him go near the cages, peering inside. Hearing his question, she just smiled and responded by saying "I'm afraid I have to keep them in cages for now, until other competiors show up. I can't have them running all over the island. It would take longer then needed be." She paused, before saying "Half-dead? Not quite, they were a bundle of energy when they first arrived."

Lupora glanced at the humans in the cages, and watched their reaction. She chuckled softly at the new girl's comment. Looks like she caught the plague.

Delbert Dougie Dizeot ~

Delbert snapped his attention back towards the humans after hearing their gentle voices chime from behind him suddenly. Of course, they didn’t sound at all pleased, however, he tried to ignore that small fact seeing as it was his first encounter with them. Humans were such grumps, weren’t they?

“You could always just sit and look pretty,” Delbert remarked towards the redheaded female. “By the looks of it I doubt that would be hard for someone like you… fact, why not take a leaf out of your young friends book and just chill out like she is doing, or perhaps she is just… dead.” In reference to the younger blue-haired girl, the demon couldn’t help but chuckle a little.

Pausing briefly, Delbert then turned his yellow gaze towards the feisty girl once more, and said teasingly, “Hey, shortie, no need to get so grouchy with me. It wasn’t I who imprisoned you in that cage, although, I could be the one who releases you from it, should you change your attitude towards me, naturally.” With a triumphant smirk filling his features the mix-bred monster leaned away from the cages, knowing that reasoning with the humans was deemed near impossible at that moment.

With a bored sigh the demon faced Lupora, again, with an inquisitive stare. “So, from what I’ve gathered you own this island? It’s quite a pretty place, somewhere that I wouldn’t expect a fighting competition to be held.”

Delbert Dougie Dizeot ~

Delbert was completely shocked by the brown-haired girl’s words, and what was worse was that he could not even hide the dumbfounded-ness as it was so evidently slapped across his face. No human, nor any demon and creature had spoken to him in such a coldhearted manner before, until now. Her words alone had startled his cool façade and almost broken it in two, clearly, as his golden stare ever so slightly softened by the time she had said all that she had to say at that moment.

After the girl had turned her back to him, Delbert instinctively stuck his tongue out at her, uttering, “I pity the fate that lays ahead of you, little human." Before his attention was then suddenly captured by the red-haired girl who also shared the same cage. Lowering his ears a little he approached her cautiously, becoming rapidly curious by her actions towards him after noticing her smirks and smiles, and the occasional wink. What was the human up to?

“My name is Delbert.” He answered softly with a mischievous smile of his own. As the girl raised her hand out towards him, the creature moved closer and lightly brushed the side of his face against it, with a playful hiss escaping his lips. Compared to most Delbert was more animal-like than other demons, and for that brief moment he couldn’t help but seem more as an oversized pet than monster when interacting with Skylar just then, especially as he did enjoy being petted and stroked when given the chance.

“You’re a nice human, Skylar, not like other… individuals.” He muttered quietly under his breath. He didn’t know why, but for some reason Delbert felt rather tamed by the red-haired girl, which gave him slight cause to worry. He knew he shouldn’t get too friendly with the humans, but this one seemed to captivate him in some way, for whatever reason.
