Players take on the role of members (new or veteran) of Shadow Company, a military company operating outside of laws and regulations, with an international team of highly trained soldiers, anti-terrorism operatives, and intelligence officers. Only recalled in the event of impending global conflict, Shadow Company is considered a rumour amongst regular soldiers, and can only be reinstated by NATO. Operators are recruited based on their level of experience in the field, and ability to act under pressure. Some will be put into the field undercover, and others will make up a task force sent in to deal with imminent threats.
