Personality:
Describing Gabrielle in one word would be impossible, because there are multiple faces that she wears. You could ask her best friends to describe her, and they would likely list off a bunch of alluring traits, like how she's generous, and a great listener, and always looks out for her friends. She's protective of them and is more than willing to take down anyone who hurts them, and she's someone who truly values genuine friendships. She can be fun and silly and down to earth, as long as she's around the right people. Her friends know her as the girl who loves to sing to every song in the car, will participate in retail therapy with you for hours after a bad breakup, and is always willing to host sleepovers that end in everyone staying up until five in the morning.

As a Queen Bee, Gabrielle has definitely experienced her fair share of drama. Really, she's experienced enough to appoint herself as a a drama expert. It's not something that she necessarily wanted from the start, because at one point, just like anyone else, drama scared her. She didn't like confrontations or being put on the spot for gossip she started or spread behind someone's back. By now though, drama is second nature to her. She's comfortable with being put on the spot, and most things related to drama don't make her bat an eye. She's very calm and collected, and has a relaxed demeanor even in the darkest of hours. That doesn't mean that it still doesn't scare her a little on the inside, but it's like Gabby has developed the ability to turn off her emotions when she needs to. She thinks of it as self-preservation. If other people see it as her being cold hearted, mean and emotionless, then so be it. She's not going to lose any sleep over it.

Gabrielle has many traits of a leader, beyond just the social character traits that led her to be unofficially appointed Queen Bee among her peers. She's intelligent, and prides herself in maintaining a 4.0 average. She isn't a natural born genius, so it does require some effort, but it's something that she's willing to put in, on top of kissing the asses of her teachers. She's confident and is a great public speaker, and isn't afraid of speaking her mind and airing her opinions, be it during a debate, or just a social conversation among friends.

History:
Gabrielle is the offspring of Debra and Christopher Lawrence, a couple who were the epitome of love... until they had a child. They never told Gabby that, of course, but in reality, the two of them likely would still be together if they hadn't decided to have a child. Gabrielle being brought into the world was something that they both looked forward to, but as top executives at the same media corporation, their schedules didn't have as much spare time to raise a child, as they would have expected. Neither of them wanted to abandon the baby, because they did love Gabby, but things became tense when Chris expected Debra to quit her job and raise Gabby. She spent a few months doing that, before being ready to tear her hair out, and insisting that she return to work. She did, and a nanny took over raising Gabby for the next three years, but by then, the marriage between Debra and Christopher had reached its expiration date. There was too much fighting and too much unhappiness, and both decided that things would be better if they saw other people.

While Debra spent the next thirteen years dating an assortment of men, it only took three years for Christopher to get remarried. Gabrielle remained close to both of her parents, but continued to live with her mother. Her parents never went to court over their divorce, and everything ended pretty civilly. It was only when her mother got engaged, and then married to Sergey Brin, that Gabrielle left her childhood home and moved in with her mother and step-mother. While the home is an upgrade, it's not like Gabrielle wasn't wealthy before her mother got remarried. Sergey is nice, and Gabby really can't complain... but she still will. The transition has just been weird for her, and has made her want to distract herself even more than before with her friends and schools.

Academic History:
Gabrielle has attended Brentwood since kindergarten. She's intelligent and makes sure that she does well in all of her classes. English classes are the easiest for her, though she doesn't struggle significantly in any of them, usually. She's in the National Honor Society, Yoga Club, and Cake 4 a Cause.

Although school had officially begun two days before, on Wednesday, September 7th, even today on Friday, the 9th, things still felt new. Students were only just beginning to pick up their new routines for the year, and adjust to having to wake up early every morning, rather than being permitted to sleep until noon like they could do on those summer days that they would reminisce about for the next eight or nine months. Although Elijah had been through this ritual for many years now, given that he had gone to Brentwood since kindergarten, and had started a new year on this specific Brentwood campus since sixth grade, he was no different from the majority students regarding that. It still felt wrong for him to be waking up at seven in the morning, rather than one in the afternoon, and to be pulling into the school's student parking lot, rather than the parking lot for the beach. For many obvious reasons, starting school again sucked, but it wasn't all bad in Eli's eyes. He had a lot of friends, and socializing was always an enjoyable thing for him. Plus, he was one of those students who never struggled in school, so he wasn't all that worried about the advanced courses he was taking this semester. He was only just beginning his third day of senior year, and he was already convinced that it was going to be a year that he could just cruise through, like he had done for the past three years of high school.

With Alessia in the passenger seat, Eli pulled into the student parking lot around 8:15 and hopped out of his BMW X5 M. "Listen, Ali. You heard Mom. Don't be getting your ass into any trouble today, all right? It's Friday and I know you and your little sophomore friends think you're gonna be able to party and shit this year, but that's not how it works. Only one of us can get away with that, and we both know that person is going to be me." He was half kidding, and purposely being obnoxious to get under her skin, really, though. Being obnoxious was one of Elijah's most well known talents, and if anyone had been subjected to it to know it proficiently, it was the girl who had lived in the same house as him for her entire life. As they approached the school's quad, that was already highly populated with students, Eli continued. "And you know what, if you keep yourself out of trouble, maybe, just maybe, I'll snag an invite for you and your weird little friends for Tim's party tomorrow," he offered, still purposely being annoying, as if he was doing her a huge favor. Though he knew that Alessia could just show up and get in, if she really wanted to, given that Timothy would never be an ass and reject her, he was sure that Ali was wanting, if not planning, on going. Timothy had a history of using his house as the unofficial "first party of the year" site, and this year, he was planning a "stoplight party". It was a party that was meant to physically demonstrate your relationship status, hence "breaking the ice" without actually having to do anything. If you wore green, it meant that you were available. Yellow symbolized something in between taken and available, as if it were a label for "it's complicated" (though Eli always took yellow as being equivalent to green), and red meant that you were unavailable. Although he knew that no matter what the theme was, things were always fun when Timothy was hosting, he was especially excited for this year's party, and as he and his sister entered the quad, he texted his fellow blonde friend saying, "On campus yet? Everything set for tm?"

"Sorry, sorry!" Kat exclaimed, the moment she pulled open the car door. Though she was one of those people who were serial offenders for being late, it wasn't like she wasn't apologetic about it. If it was only Timothy in the car, she likely would have taken at least another ten minutes getting out, but with his sisters waiting, and especially Kayleen, she did feel the need to express her remorse. She knew Michaela well enough by now, but she had only just met Kayleen a few days ago, and she still felt the need to make a good first impression to the girl. "I'm here. My contacts were like, absolutely on the verge of forcing me to stay home today, by some miracle, I got them in, so here I am!" she explained, at a speed that was a few paces faster than normal, as she got situated in the back row of the car. She rummaged through her backpack for only a minute, before locating a bag of chocolate chip cookies that her stepmother had sent her out the door with. It had been a compromise, really, considering that Katherine had used her contacts-catastrophe as an excuse for why she had no time to eat breakfast. Elaine likely knew that Katherine wasn't going to consume all of the cookies with no pressure from the woman breathing down her neck, but she hoped that her stepdaughter would at least have one to put something into her stomach for the morning. Katherine had no intentions of eating the cookies, and instead, tossed them into the console in between Timothy and Michaela, saying, "Elaine wanted me to give you these, Tim. Meredith made them yesterday, and she remembered that you liked them last time you were over," she explained falsely, referencing the family's personal chef. It was a good sign that at this point in Katherine's life, she actually would feel a tinge of guilt when she did something that she knew wasn't healthy, but she pushed that thought aside as she reminded herself that she had brought a bottle of SunLife pressed juice with her, that would act as breakfast. It wasn't as filling as a real breakfast, but it was definitely better than consuming nothing, and for Katherine, willingly consuming anything was a big step anyway.

"So, how are you liking California so far?" she said, turning to Kayleen, then. Though Katherine was generally selective with who she befriended, it was a no brainer to her that she make an effort with Kayleen. For one, the girl was pretty, and being attractive and socially acceptable was important to Kat. Secondly, she was Timothy's sister, so that automatically meant that she felt like she had to be nice, and thirdly, she had taken Timothy insisting that Kayleen probably wouldn't like anyone, as a bit of a challenge because she felt like she was impossible to dislike. She wanted to prove him wrong, so allowing Kayleen to not like her simply wasn't an option. "If you're not doing anything later, you should totally hang out with Tim and I. We're going to go shopping, right?" she said, her head than turning quickly back towards the front row of the car. The "right" part wasn't so much as to confirm that those were the plans, but to tell him that those were the plans, because she didn't plan on accepting no for an answer. Timothy had gotten out of shopping with her last weekend, but she wanted to make sure that their red outfits for Saturday were perfect.

"Yeah, yeah, shopping. Wouldn't miss it for the world," Timothy answered, his voice purposely strained as if the idea of shopping was truly agonizing. Sitting on a chair outside of the dressing room, and haven't to nod that yes, that outfit looked great, wasn't his idea of fun, but he didn't dread it that badly. He liked making Katherine happy, so a few hours of boredom would be worth it in the end. "You're more than welcome to come, Kayleen," he added, looking at his sister through the rear-view mirror momentarily as they drove, before adding, "Though, you'll have to clear, like, five hours, out of your schedule, because this one likes to try on every single thing in every single store." It was a jab at Katherine in response to her demanding-ness, but also an attempt to lighten things up, considering that Kayleen remained silent, still. She paused for another few seconds even, after Timothy said that, before cracking a smile, that mostly came out of her desire to seem polite. "I appreciate the invite, but I'm actually good on clothes," she insisted. She did want to go shopping at some point, but she was content with waiting for her own car to arrive, so that she could do it on her own. Her father had already offered, her stepmother had already offered, and this offer from Katherine and Timothy wasn't welcomed any better than the other two. Kayleen was just still in that mindset where she didn't want to adjust to living in California. She didn't want to warm up to her "new" family, or make any friends, or allow herself to feel even remotely comfortable here, because she didn't want to consider this place home. It wasn't home. She was uprooted from her own home and forced to live here, with a family that would never be her real family.

"Oh, don't believe him! I do not take five hours, and you have to come, Kayleen! A girl can never have enough clothes and you don't want to be the only person sitting home alone on a Friday night! Just come! I'll invite more people, it'll be fun! Have you met Gabby yet? Or Nat? I'll see if they'll come. You'll totally love them!" she exclaimed, a hand instinctively reaching across the empty seat in between them to grab Kayleen's wrist, out of a mixture of excitement and the desire to get Kayleen to say yes. Katherine was a physical person by nature, so she often forgot how some people found being touched and hugged and grabbed to be off-putting. She only pulled her hand away to make good on her claim, as she pulled her phone out from her backpack to text Gabrielle and Natalia.

To: Gabrielle
GABBY <3! Shopping after school? Tim's new sister is going to come!

To: Natalia
HI NAT! You might not remember but I totally feel like you promised that you would go shopping with me and Timothy and his sister tonight, and if you back out I will totally be so offended and never want to talk to you again.

Tim knew that Katherine was only being friendly and good natured, but as made apparent earlier, Kayleen made him feel tense, so it worried him that Katherine was coming off as pushy. His eyes remained focused on the rear view mirror for longer than was probably safe, considering he was still driving, as Kayleen eventually agreed to "possibly" come, and Katherine seemed to accept that as an answer. By the time they got to school, Michaela was quick to hop out and disappear, and Timothy was sure that Kayleen would have opted to head into school solo, had it not been for Katherine, again. "What have you been doing for lunch for the past two days? Timothy, I can't believe that you didn't insist that she eat with us! Today, you have to, Kayleen! All of our friends are seriously going to love you!" He was too focused on his phone to jump in sooner, as he sent out a few texts, while slowly walking behind the girls, towards the quad.

To: Elijah
Just got here. Wya? All's good for tomorrow.

To: Sebastian
Got your green ready for tomorrow, man?

Thank God it's Friday!"

Location: The Brentwood School
Outfit: x
Mood: Motivated
It was Friday. Finally. That "finally" was thought with less emphasis than it would in two or three weeks from now, given that this was the first Friday of the school year, and the week had only consisted of Wednesday through Friday this week, but still, Gabby was no different than any of her peers in that weekly countdown to the last day of the school week. Her outfit today was casual, but it was Friday after all, and Gabrielle had always treated Friday's as dress-down days. Besides, overall, she didn't treat school as a runway. One would imagine that as the Queen Bee, she would always be trying to one-up people and look like she had just stepped out of a fashion show, but that wasn't what Gabrielle was about. She did like looking nice, and yes, she certainly dressed better than most of her peers, but a lot of her appeal came from being effortless. She didn't like to try hard, because she felt like that in itself was tacky and defeated the purpose of it all. Her focus was on herself. If she thought that she looked good and would be comfortable for the day, than that was her top priority. It helped, though, that she didn't own many clothes that would be seen as raggedy or too casual to begin with, so "dressing down" was all relative to her typical style.

Her morning routine was nothing special, and though her mother and stepfather were both already on their way to work by the time that she finished getting ready, and headed into the kitchen for breakfast, the emptiness of the house didn't feel overwhelmingly unwelcoming. On one hand, Gabrielle was still getting used to the move into this new house, to accommodate her mother's new marriage to Sergey, but at the same time, she couldn't be so dramatic as to paint the scene as her being some emotionally neglected girl, forced to fend for herself. She actually preferred not having to socialize with either of them in the morning, mostly because even though she had already been awake for an hour or so, she was still pretty irritable after being forced out of sleep by her alarm. Her mother had left her a fruit smoothie in the fridge, and along with a granola bar that sat on a note reading, "Happy Friday! Have a good day โ˜บ! โ™ก Mom", she was set for breakfast. It took her only a few minutes to finish eating and head out to school, and luckily, living only four miles away meant that even with morning traffic, it only took her around fifteen minutes before her Range Rover was parked in the student lot.

She had a good amount of text messages waiting for her by the time she was out of her car, but she didn't have time to even open them, before a familiar BMW pulled up beside her, and out stepped fellow senior Royal, Yvette. "Hey babe!" the brunette greeted her with, a bright smile on her face as the two began to walk towards school. "Perfect timing, huh? If I wasn't all the way in Thousand Oaks, I would say we should totally carpool." Gabby shook her head, smiling still, though, only to signal that it was no big deal. "It's no biggie. You know I like having my car on campus anyway. It makes it easier to get out of here once the day's over, which, I'll admit, I'm already counting down the minutes for." Normally, Gabby didn't mind school, but today, she was feeling more antsy for the weekend to come. She didn't even have any spectacular plans, other than Timothy's party tomorrow night, but she was simply still functioning in summer-mode, and it was proving to be a struggle for her to switch back into her school mentality this week. "Hey, I'm right there with ya, sister!" Yvette exclaimed, an exasperated sigh following it. "I cannot believe that we already have an English paper due on Wednesday. Like, can they not give us one weekend off before sending us into the fiery pits of stress-hell?" Gabrielle laughed at the girl's dramatic antics, especially when her gaze shifted from her phone, once she finished reading her text messages, and looked to Yvette to find that she too had been distracted, but not by her phone. The makeup guru was busy herself, applying more lip gloss and checking herself out in her compact mirror, a move that seemed to be Yvette's signature thing. She didn't miss this - the socializing and friends - part about school, that was something she could say, at least. "Ooooh, there's John!" The girl nearly squealed when she finally put her makeup back into her purse. "Okay, okay, how do I look? I told you about how he's been hitting me up nonstop all week, right? I've got that boy right where I want him, Gabs. Let me go work my magic and you can bet that by the time I'm done, this boy's going to be showing up to Cargill's party wearing firetruck red!" Gabby could only shake her head and stifle the laughter that always seemed to come when she was talking to the always-animated Yvette, before the girl hurried off in the boy's direction.

Gabby was left alone, but only for a minute, for as she continued walking up towards the school building, she came across more of the A-listers that she frequently associated with. Though they were somewhat separated into two groups by the time that she caught up to them, the group had at least originally seemed to consist of Elijah, Timothy, Lennox, Natalia, and Katherine. "Good morning, boys," she said, only in passing, though she allowed herself enough time beside them to give Timothy a gentle squeeze to his shoulder, as an additional greeting for him. The way that it could have been even categorized as a caressing motion definitely meant that it was unnecessary, especially when considering that Katherine was only a few feet away, and was her friend, but Gabrielle wasn't necessarily trying to be flirtatious. If anything, it came from a subconscious level of territorial-ness that she felt around people. Now that she was freshly single, it certainly did irk her, even just a little bit, that the boy that everyone constantly thought she was dating, was now officially dating someone else. It was that FOMO in her head, telling her that Katherine had "stolen" Tim from her, despite Gabby knowing very well that she never did, and to this day, still did not, have any romantic feelings for him. She didn't allow her hand to linger for more than a second or two, though, before moving past the boys and catching up with the two junior girls. "My babies!" she exclaimed, somewhat teasingly, as she walked with them. "I just got your text, Kitty, but I think that I can fit some shopping in tonight. Are you coming, Nat, or is cheerleading already taking over your life again?"

"Awwww, babe, I do know the power of my own words," Nat said after smirking, turning just slightly to full on stare at Eli teasingly. "You're already here and willing, from what I can see." Elijah came as a welcome distraction. While it was easy for Nat to ignore anyone and even pretend as if they didn't exist, on a surface level, a physical distraction actually helped better. She didn't care that the others got along with him in their own little ways. At the end of the day, she didn't and while she didn't expect for anyone to cater to her, she also didn't have time to pretend just because everyone else was all kumbaya and whatnot. Besides, Nat could genuinely say that she liked Elijah. While she wasn't fooled into thinking he was the greatest thing since ice cream, he had...just a touch of grace left in him, though she'd never tell him that to his face considering how much his ego was already the size of the globe. She wasn't adding to that mass any time soon. She didn't, however, hesitate in letting Katherine pull her just shy from being too close to the boys so that they could be ahead as the group began to migrate towards the school building.

"Really, Kat, ultimatums?" Natalia had to inquire, not particularly in disbelief as it would be something that Kat did when she felt like Nat was willing to abandon her. Which she wasn't. She had - kinda - already agreed to going shopping; somebody had to make sure Kat didn't have a fit in the middle of the mall because she wasn't liking the way some of the bikinis fit her. Nat snorted at the thought, though she wouldn't be surprised if Kat took it as a negative towards the idea of going to Knox's place. Which wasn't happening. Natalia would flat-out abandon her friend, invite Rhapsody and Anastasia to her place only, and have a girls' pre-party spectacular just to have something to taunt Katherine with via social media. And everyone knew that between the two of them, Nat wasn't even the most active on any of her social media accounts. "My alcohol is better," she said decidedly, only slightly petulantly. It helped that she didn't like everyone's typical vodka brands considering they were weak and that she could make the sweet drinks Kat liked, and even that Tatiana would be going out to Russia for the weekend for some dinner tomorrow.

What probably shouldn't have happened was Nat glancing backwards for a moment, not because she was trying to spy on the boys behind them, but because she was genuinely curious if Gio was going to make it to school. While she had already questioned the state of both his sobriety and inebriation, he was an asshole. He could surprise her and his teachers by obstinately refusing not to skip, show up in shades to hide how red his eyes may or may not be, and just be crass and even more intolerable than he typically is. Just as she decided that she was going to text him the second she got to class, Gabrielle had caught her gaze's focus and while Nat did nothing more than turn around when she noticed the girl interact with the boys, a slight nod was the only indication she gave to having seen anything...out of sorts with her particular brand of greeting. A greeting she was pretty sure Kat hadn't even taken notice of by the time the blonde caught up to them.

"Yeah, I'll come. Somebody's gotta make sure kotenok here doesn't max out her card over bikinis," she joked easily at Gabby's question. "I'll make pre-game drinks and snacks at my place for us. Make it a girl's thing. I'll invite Ari before the day is out to see if she wants to come. We can all get ready there and take my Panamera."

Katherine had only perked up even more when Gabrielle joined them. Although the girl was a grade above she and Nat, and frequently seemed to have female senior Royal friends to hang out with, Kat considered her to be a close friend. Gabby was good about making time for any Royal who she deemed a friend, and Katherine found her to be a lot of fun, so her presence was nothing but welcomed. "There's like a one percent chance that I'm actually wearing a bathing suit tomorrow. I'm not in the showy-mood lately, and I'm definitely not going to want to go in the water," she rationed. The reasons were honest, and she wasn't even trying to avoid admitting that she wasn't in a mindset where she wanted to be wearing something skimpy. Katherine certainly was still battling some unnecessary body image and weight issues, and the idea of wearing a bathing suit in public, especially when she wasn't planning on being in the water for the majority of the time, did still bother her. She was far better with it today than she was a few years ago, when it was a legitimate struggle for her to even do that in front of just a few friends, lounging around the pool on her own property, but the struggles still existed. However, in her defense, while that played a role in part of why she didn't want to wear a bikini tomorrow, she also just felt like wearing actual clothes would be easier for the night. She would feel more comfortable, mentally and physically, she justified, and though she would still be adamant about shopping tonight to look for more options, she did already have a red option waiting for her in her closet, should she not find anything at a store. "AKA, she's coming because she loves me and would never want to lose me as a friend, and would always choose me over any silly, little boy," she said, masking her voice with the best innocent cover she could muster up, as if she was simply stating the truth, and still not being territorial over her. "And because I have to make sure that the two of you pick out the nicest green outfits I can find." With Gabrielle being freshly single, and Katherine wanting to do everything in her power to make sure that Natalia remained single, she knew that she would have more fun, making it her mission to find them outfits, over searching for one for herself.

"I see Ari in chem, so I'll ask her too, but who knows if she'll even answer me. I swear, she literally takes every class so seriously, and it's only the first week of school. I asked her for an extra pen yesterday, and oh my God, you would have thought that I interrupted her while she was saying her wedding vows or something, with the glare that I got." Of course, Katherine was being dramatic, but she was being serious in her opinion, at least, of how Arizona overreacted. Katherine had come to terms with not being book smart, and maybe that played a role in it, too. She was the kind of person who could probably manage B's in her classes if she put in the effort, but she didn't, so she was used to just barely passing her classes. Because of that, she didn't understand why other people cared so much, especially someone like Ari, who school seemed equally hopeless to. What was the use in studying like a nerd, and acting so serious about school, like a nerd, if you were never going to get the grades to give you any payoff? Clearly, Kat didn't see any, and that was why it baffled her as to why Ari took offense to her interrupting her train of thought during their harder classes to ask for silly things like an extra pen or a piece of gum.

Natalia, Timothy, Katherine and Lennox's responses all had ELijah smirking, but he didn't object to the two girls separating themselves, considering that it gave the boy's a little space to talk about things that the girls who have deemed "disrespectful" or something like that, that would have only made Eli roll his eyes. He waited until after saying hello to Gabby, who passed by them to catch up to the girls after only a second, before addressing what had just come out of Knox's mouth. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," he objected, after Knox spoke, raising his hands as if to say "slow down there". "Hold on, just a minute, Knox. I automatically assumed that we were going with the bro code, that sisters are always off limits, but if Kayleen's fair game for you, then she's gonna be fair game for me too. I mean, if we wanna be technical here, I've known about her the longest, so..." He allowed his sentence to trail off there, though his eyes looked towards Timothy, as if to ask for his agreement on the matter. In reality, Elijah had known of Kayleen's existence for a few years, but it wasn't like he had ever actually known her, to give him some sort of seniority standing to woo her, over Lennox, as if something like that even existed. Besides, considering that there was a part of Elijah that still told him that Katherine, Timothy's girlfriend, was fair game, it wasn't hard to imagine that if Eli was drunk enough, Kayleen would look like she was wearing green to him no matter what she was really wearing, and no matter what Timothy thought of it. He knew it was wrong, and that was why the sober Elijah hadn't considered going for Kayleen until now, when Lennox was the one being direct enough to ask Timothy if he would feel weird about it.

If the answer was that Timothy didn't care, and that Lennox was right that he disliked his half-sister more than he cared about her, than Eli would be adamant in at least challenging Knox to see which of them could talk the blonde's pants off the quickest. If the answer was that Timothy would feel weird, and would prefer that neither of them make an attempt with Kayleen, than Eli could still feel superior in being able to gloat about being the true good friend, given that he could have asked about Kayleen long ago, but knew better. Now that he was really thinking about it, though, he couldn't see why Tim would care. He barely knew Kayleen more than any of them did, so he couldn't imagine Timothy seeing it as being even remotely comparable to them trying to get with Michaela, his "real" sister. She was just a girl who happened to share a father with him, who he had only lived with for two days. Now, convincing him that Tim was bound to say that they could go for her, Eli talked himself up into believing that if anyone should "welcome" her to California, it should get to be him. Most of the time, he was completely content with embracing how much of a player he was, but now that it would work to his benefit in believing otherwise, he decided that out of the two of them, he was the one who was less likely to break Kayleen's heart over Lennox. He wouldn't want to date her, or be anything with her beyond physical, but he was sure that he could find a way to do it in a way that would make him seem like a gentleman, unlike Lennox.

"Ari being uptight? Wow, real shocker, Kat," Gabrielle said, clearly sarcastically, as she rolled her eyes, though the eye roll was directed more so at Ari than it was as Kat. "We really have to loosen that girl up. I mean, don't get me wrong - I love her and everything, but I'll never forgive myself if I leave this year and she's still as by-the-books as she is now." Gabrielle, and Katherine too, were clearly oblivious that Ari was more unpredictable than they would have imagined, but they couldn't be blamed for not knowing that at one point, Ari and Natalia had actually made out. Given Ari's personality, it was the last thing that anyone would have guessed, partly because Gabby just assumed that Ari was straight, and also because she wasn't the kind of girl who seemed to do random hookups. Plus, Gabby would have thought that given that it happened between two of the girls in her own clique, she would have heard about it, so really, it wasn't surprising that she still believed Ari to be the same "likes to plan for everything" girl she always thought of her as. It didn't mean that Gabby didn't like Ari, because she definitely did. She knew that Ari was more fun than they teasingly gave her credit for, and considered the girl to be a friend regardless of how much she liked to tease her.

"I'll wear a bikini with you, even if Little Miss Conservative over here, doesn't want to," Gabby said to Natalia. Part of Gabby knew that she should push Katherine in the issue, and sometimes, when things like this came up, she did. She wasn't as privy to the extensiveness of Katherine's body image issues as Natalia was, given that the girls knew each other for years longer than Gabby knew them, but she was close enough to Katherine to know that it was something that the girl struggled with. The good friend in Gabby would often gently insist that a girl with as flawless as a figure as Katherine's simply had to flaunt it, but there was the more selfish side to Gabby that liked to just shrug her shoulders sometimes, when it seemed like a losing battle. Katherine would likely be stubborn about this, and as bad as it was, Gabby didn't care to be that good friend in the moment. She had her own things to worry about, like what she was going to wear tomorrow.

This was the first event she was going to since her split up with her boyfriend, and though he was away at college now and wouldn't be there anyway, she still felt like it was significant. A few weeks ago, she thought she would be wearing red, and now suddenly, she had to go in green, and the wounds regarding that were still fresh to her. Fresh enough, too, that she looked over her shoulder for a second, as the girls entered the school building, to make sure that Timothy and the boys (but mostly, Timothy) were still close enough. Additionally, that thought was what led her to follow up her first comment with, "But I feel like the three of us should wear green, really. Or Kat, you should at least wear yellow. I mean, I know that you and Tim are a "couple", or whatever little title you guys want to give it for now, but I feel like you need to remind him that you could step back out onto the market at any moment. I feel like showing up in yellow would be the perfect move to keep him interested, you know? I mean, especially with someone like him, where cheating runs in the family blood, that's how you have to do it - you have to constantly remind them that you can cheat too, if you feel like it." Gabrielle was being nothing short of an instigator here, knowing good and well that Timothy wouldn't cheat on Kat, and that Kat had nothing to worry about in regards to that. She knew that Kat was the weakest link of their group, mentally, though, and that it only took a few comments like that to get into her head. As a friend, it was incredibly wrong to do, but Gabrielle was only thinking of herself right now. It was all about self-preservation, and saving face. She felt insecure now that her boyfriend had cheated on her, so now she had to ruin someone else's relationship, so that she wasn't alone in that.

Nat's immediate response to Katherine's insistence that she wasn't a bathing suit probably wasn't what typical best friends had. She simply didn't react at all, or at least it didn't seem that way given the fact that all she did was stare at Kat for a second before turning her attention to her phone as Gabby and Kat prattled on about Ari, which was a completely different topic that Nat would have to actually focus on to have an opinion on Arizona's "uptight" personality. Natalia considered, without having to look at Kat's body, bathing suit options for the brunette to look out for. In moments like these, particularly when Kat's own insecurities and image issues were more at play than the brunette ever wanted to let on (and the fact that they had never really sat down and discussed Kat's eating disorder is a conversation for another day), Nat had to maneuver around her and the best way to do that would be to pick a bathing suit that Kat wouldn't mind wearing. The default color, considering Natalia knew that the other girl had a thing for thinking that she wasn't always thin, would be black if they weren't going to the party, but since Kat was definitely wearing red, Nat had to consider all of the recent bathing suits that came out and would compliment Kat's form without giving her too much to complain about in terms of the way her body looked. The most prominent of a reaction Nat could give, then, was the small smile in Gabby's direction once the blonde said she'd wear a bikini with her.

"That's a bit unnecessary, don't you think," Nat chimed in while texting back Ari, face scrunching up slightly before smoothing out just as quickly as she realized that Bas had text her only a moment after Arizona. Moments like these were definite clues that both Gabrielle and Natalia's thinking processes and reasoning were just a touch different. Nat wouldn't say that she was looking extremely deeply into Gabby's intentions by trying to convince Kat to wear yellow; she wasn't all-knowing, after all. But her mind played back to earlier to the way Gabby's hand fell on Tim's person and while she shook it off, the image was burned into her retinas along with the auditory memory of Gabs thinking that Kat needed to keep Tim "interested," whatever that meant for her brain to pick at later. She looked up then, first at Kat before glancing at Gabby and then back to her brunette bestie, and continued, "It's Tim, we're talking about. If he wanted to look elsewhere, he wouldn't have settled for being with you, Kat. Tim didn't do relationships before you, so in all honesty, there's really no time for keeping his interest. You've already got it, kotenok." Her voice notably softened on that last sentence and Nat reached over to place a warm hand on Kat's bare shoulder before gathering herself up mentally. She hadn't said anything that she said to undermine Gabrielle in any way, but at the same time, the mentality Gabby's words were going to put Kat in wasn't going to be conducive for a good shopping trip or weekend, if Nat knew Kat well enough. And if she was being forced to go shopping when she had an entire collection of bathing suits from one of her favorite Nigerian brands waiting at home to sort through should she change her mind and actually wear green like her friends insisted, then she was going to do so with a happy Kat. Anything less than that required a bottle of vodka to herself.

"I'm gonna head to class," she stated after a beat and with a small nod to Gabby and another comforting smile for Kat, Nat was backing away. "Some of us are taking an AP science and we already have a quiz scheduled for next Wednesday. I'll catch up with you guys later and you," Nat specifically pointed at Kat, "are definitely getting in that water, even if I have to pick out your swimsuit, ma'am." Walking away from the pair, Tim caught Nat's eye and she offered a considering look followed by a smirk before continuing on her way, texting both Ari and Bas as she went.

To: Ari
For one, you don't get over bisexuality. You deal with it and confront it, and I'm not saying confront Kat cuz that'd be a mistake, but maybe actually pursuing another female?? Maybe tomorrow? Also we're all going shopping after skool and Gabby and Kat are coming to my place tomorrow to get ready together. You should come

Kat could only nod in agreement with Gabby as she responded to her comment about Ari, but her smile faded quickly when the blonde turned the conversation to focus on her. Katherine was far more emotionally malleable than her friends, which was why Gabrielle's words admittedly probably did bother her more than they would other people. She trusted her friends and liked to believe that everything they said was being said with the best of intentions. Even so, though, she wasn't stupid, and she could think for herself more than she was given credit for. If nothing else, what resonated her was Gabrielle so casually claiming that cheating was genetic, and that she should basically just expect Tim to do it, if she wasn't constantly making an effort in keeping him interested. It didn't bother Katherine to an extent where it made her upset necessarily, but she knew that Gabby was a smart girl. She was smart socially, and academically, so making a claim that even Katherine knew was dumb, seemed odd. She supposed that maybe it was because she, herself, was a product of an affair, and she was well aware of how her father participating in that had nothing to do with her. She wasn't more inclined to be a homewrecker, just because her father had been one, years ago. Even if Gabby's claim seemed even a little bit logical, Kat easily reminded herself that following Timothy's father cheating, he had been in what seemed like a happy and healthy marriage for years. As far as Katherine knew, Mr. Cargill wasn't a serial cheater, and if it wasn't even something that seemed ingrained in the man's DNA, it made absolutely no sense to assume it would be passed along to his son.

Natalia's words allowed the caught off guard expression on her face to soften a bit, but she did nothing more than respond with a nod as the girl spoke, and eventually excused herself to get to class. Nat's words were the ones that Katherine preferred to hear, and a part of her wanted to just take those and pretend that she had never heard anything that had come out of Gabrielle's mouth, but that made her feel ignorant. She didn't want to be one of those girls who were blind to the problems in their own relationships, and now a seed of doubt had been planted in her mind. "He wouldn't cheat on me," she responded, in a way that sounded far less definitive than she wanted it to sound, and only after Natalia was gone. "And at least right now, even if I wasn't with him, I wouldn't want to be on the market." She paused then, her words probably sounding far more somber and serious than she was even comfortable with, so she added a smile in as she continued with, "Not with you out there as competition, now." Thankfully, she received a momentary distraction with the short return of Lennox, followed by Timothy slipping an arm around her waist. Knox had not given her enough time to even respond to his request for her to find him, but given that classes would be starting soon, she doubted that she would see him before they were both sitting down in chemistry class. Given that Kat didn't take the course as seriously as she should have, she was content with the idea of just discussing whatever he needed to discuss then.

"Sorry, Gabs, but if you don't mind, I've got to steal this Kitten for a minute," Timothy said, approaching the group that had turned from a trio of girls plus Lennox, into just a Kat and Gabby duo by the time that he had fully gotten over there. He had let Lennox off without even a playful punch to the arm after his comment, but only because he was out of reach by the time that Tim heard what he had said, and besides, he was also now more interested in Kat. With an arm still around her waist, and a playful smirk on his face, he pulled the brunette into the side hallway that he knew she had to go down anyway, to get to her locker. It was still busy over there, but less crowded than the main hallway, and he was able to find an empty area by some lockers to lead her to. Although he didn't bother to look to see if any teachers were around to begin with, he got lucky that there weren't any there to see him initiate the PDA, as he gently pushed her back against the lockers so that he could get a few seconds worth of kissing in.

Tim had acted too quickly for Katherine to decline separating from Gabby, but it was worth noting that had he given her more of an option, she probably would have insisted that they stayed with the Queen Bee. After the unsettling words that Gabrielle had left her with, Kat did not necessarily want to stay with her, but she was just used to the idea that it was unacceptable to simply abandon Gabby. Gabby had tons of other friends and Kat knew that it was silly to overthink it,but it still just felt like something that she wasn't supposed to do. Given Gabby's words though, and how Kat really didn't make the choice herself to run off with Timothy, she allowed herself to feel more relief than guilt now that they had separated. "You couldn't have stolen me at a better time," she said, her arms still draped around his neck, even though she had pulled away from his kiss. "But you know that I can't afford to be late to chem yet this year."

Today's physical education class had taken place on the athletics field, rather than inside of the school's gymnasium, because this week's gym topic was kickball. Being pretty competitive meant that Elijah was really up for any sport that they played in class, but he did enjoy this one more than some of the others. The class was divided into two teams of thirteen each, with Team A including Eli, Ari, Rhapsody, Kya, Rhys, Samuel, Sebastian, Katherine, Laylah, two other sophomores, another junior, and another senior, and Team B including Timothy, Natalia, Tristan, Zara, Alessia, Gabrielle, Giovanni, Lennox, Kayleen, three other seniors, and a junior. Because it would take five minutes for the students to jog back to the main campus from the fields, and they needed time to change out of their gym clothes in the locker rooms, their gym teacher, Mr. Lessig, yelled out onto the field that the next student up would be the last kicker for the day. With a tied score, Elijah grew tense with that call, considering that his team was currently playing the field, and that meant that their fate was in the hands of either how poorly the kicker on the other team was, or how well they could play the field.

When he saw that Tristan Castiel-Castellan was the next kicker in line, Eli's fears seemed to disappear as his signature smirk appeared on his face. "Bring it in, boys!" he said, acting as the self-appointed team captain that no one else had really agreed on, as he looked back towards the two sophomore boys, and a junior boy, who were playing the outfield. He knew that it wasn't nice, but in his mind, all he could say was "come on, there's no way in hell that this kid can kick". If he could, it would be one of those underdog moments from out of a movie, but Eli wasn't even considering that that was a possibility. Tristan was a meek, harmless boy who seemed like he would be the type to run away from the ball, if anything, so Eli was already content with thinking up teasing remarks that he could send in Timothy and Knox's direction once they hit the locker rooms.

The bases weren't fully loaded, but the opposing team had runners on first base and second base, so Elijah knew that unless Tristan's kick was caught in the air, all he needed to do was to make a kick that gave the runner on second enough time to make it home. Again, Eli was certain that that wasn't a possibility and that his team had this win in the bag, but he was comforted, at least, knowing that while he pitched the ball out, he had some of his more trusted teammates manning the bases. Just in case, he thought, as he took a breath and then with great speed, rolled the ball in Tristan's direction.

As soon as Mr. Lessig had said that they were going to play kickball for class, Nat had rolled her eyes and honestly been ready to walk out the door had Giovanni not excitedly wrapped an arm around her. The fact that he had managed to skip first period but wind up to school was a miracle in and of itself, but there was no mistaking the scowl on her face despite his exuberance towards the two of them being on the same team. Yet and still, despite her abhorrence for the game (she honestly would have rather had weight management or something of that nature), it wouldn't have been a real game if Nat wasn't feeling competitive and strategic. She didn't exactly call herself captain or anything like that, but there was no mistaking the fact that she was one of the tacticians for Team B. Which was why she bit back the triumphant grin that formed when she had run from second base to home, earning a tied score between both teams. On an exhale, Nat skidded to a brisk walk when she heard the teacher exclaim that this last kick would be the last one. It was good for her because she was starving and considering the fact that Gio was sprawled out on the grass along the sidelines looking like a bored five year old, she figured was just that time to have lunch anyway.

However, Nat's eyes narrowed on Tristan being forced to leave the sidelines to take up the kicker position and sighing because she genuinely wanted the water bottle she was forcing Gio to stand (well, lay) beside, she jogged lightly to be able to catch Tristan just before he could get into position, gaining a loose grip on his forearm. "Ey, podyshat' v techeniye minuty, nemnogo lyubvi,"{Hey, take a breath for a minute, little love.} she advised quietly, rolling her eyes when Mr. Lessig ordered, "Hurry it up, Santos!". Turning back to Tristan, Nat's eyes softened as she continued, "Ne stavit' vysokiye tseli. Tsel' na nizkom urovne. Kik, gde ona po-prezhnemu igrat', kak i gde Ketrin. {Do not aim high. Aim low. Kick where it's still playable, like where Katherine is.} Even if she wasn't particularly pressed to win, Nat still wasn't pressed to just give Eli an easy win, particularly when she knew what Tristan had to deal with without having to be teased over a small game in gym class. At least if he played it low, the other players would have to scramble to get the ball. It was too much of a gamble for him, of all of their players, to kick high unless they were begging for the ball to be caught. Nat gave Tristan's arm a small squeeze and smiled softly before releasing him and heading over to where the rest of her team was, hearing the tail end of Alessia making a complaint. Nat raised an eyebrow at the blonde, daring her to continue her probably scathing remark about the boy, but the girl only bristled, huffed dramatically, and then folded her arms. However, she also chose to remain silent. Giovanni snickered.

Awwwwwwww," he cooed at her, handing her the water bottle that Nat took several strong pulls of water from. "Mama Nat taking care of one of her babies." She turned a scrutinizing stare at the attire he had haphazardly tossed into his bag on a rush out the door and shook her head, smirking as she replied, "Don't project your mommy kink on me, durochka. Not interested." Gio pouted. "You wound me, Natty baby. I thought you loved me." Nat snorted wryly, which only prompted a small whine of "Say you love me!" followed by Mr. Lessig demanding that there be silence on the sidelines. Nat only chuckled, ignoring her friend's continued (but quiet) whine for attention as she proceeded to ignore him of paying attention to seeing how the rest of the game played out.

Samuel can do nothing but chuckle at Alessia's lame retorts, "How a girl like Laylah can hang out with someone like you will always confuse me." he simply says with a faint sigh, more disappointed by Laylah's choice of friends than anything else. Alessia's sharp comments about Samuel's social standing and wealth may have stung a little if it had been said by someone who actually had substance in his life, but as it was Alessia spouting pure rubbish and just trying to get under his skin, Sam decided to not give her the satisfaction of taking offence to it.

Zara, on the other hand, being the typical hot-headed rebel she is, was riled more than enough for the both of them. "Oh honey," she bites back, sarcasm dripping from her voice, "If you think I'm a whore you clearly don't know what big bro gets up to in his spare time." Zara can't help but smirk as she continues, "Believe me, he's been gagging for this but, y'know, I don't wanna catch anything." She manages to get in that last snappy comment before Alessia flounces off, her air self-entitlement disappearing with her. "Kids these days." Zara says by simple way of explanation, before changing her focus onto Tristan - someone that she had entirely forgotten was even still there - "Aw but Trissy, the funs only just begun." she beams, sending the shy A-lister a wink as she bounces past him and into the school building, hoping to catch up with some of her other friends.

Watching Zara waltz off, flicking a long strand of pitch black hair over her shoulder as she goes, Samuel can't help but somewhat envy that carefree attitude of hers. He wanted nothing more than to not care about what people think, but alas, Samuel was far too insecure for that, especially when it came to the opinion of those he cared deeply for; despite him maybe not being that for her, Laylah was still definitely someone Samuel cared about and therefore her opinion meant a lot to him, so if she felt the same way as Alessia did about him, Samuel would be heartbroken (even more so than he already is). As Tristan also decides to make an exit, Samuel pouts but understands how Zara's energetic personality may have put him off, stays silent. Giving the guys shoulder a squeeze, "I'll see you at break then." Samuel smiles faintly before following after Zara and heading into the school building.

| Fourth Period |

Samuel had never minded sports, despite usually choosing to be a spectator rather than a player (most often at Laylah's games) Samuel did in fact, have a liking for PE. Although his body was suited best for cross country, Samuel was actually rather pleased when Mr. Lessig stated they were going to be playing kickball. Zara, on the other hand, wanted to skip the class all together. Sure she was fit and healthy, but that was down to doing fun exercises like yoga and working out in her gym at home, not playing a ridiculous game of kickball where she would undoubtably get hit by a flying ball - or so she feared. The only thing that made Zara go to the lesson was her competitive side, she hated sports but she loved winning.

"Ah, Miss Sai, so glad you've finally deigned to grace us with your presence." Zara gives Mr. Lessig a small, fake smile as he comments on her surprise appearance as he passes by. It wasn't often that Zara made it to his lesson, not only because PE was certainly not her thing but also because she could not stand the man. He was far too sarcastic for her liking, and while Zara would usually appreciate that in a person, for a teacher she preferred someone more easily riled - that way she stayed entertained.

Pausing for a moment as he walks past, Mr. Lessig scowls at her attire, "You seem to be missing part of your shirt, Zara." he comments, looking at her self-cropped tank top. Zara had taken the regular school tank and cut it so that it just grazed her belly button, deciding upon wearing it with high waisted leggings and a basic pair of Nikes. "Oh, Mr Lessig, the most awful thing happened - I was washing this lovely tank top and it shrunk!" Zara lied, her bottom lip jutting out into a pout as she feigned sadness, "I knew I had your class today so I figured some uniform is better than no uniform, right Sir?"

Samuel does nothing but chuckle as Mr. Lessig walks on with a simple roll of his eyes, of course he didn't believe Zara but the man had better things to do than reprimand a girl he knew adored getting into trouble."I don't know how you always get away with it," he sighs, both impressed and miffed that he could never do something like that. Unlike Zara, Samuel stuck to the school dress code, wearing the kit he was given after they accepted his scholarship; typical school shorts, a white top and basic trainers.

The two are quickly sorted into separate teams, much to their dismay. Samuel is placed onto Eli's team who had decided that he was team leader with no objection from anyone else. Looking around his team for this lesson, Samuel's chest tightens when his eyes land on Laylah. Biting down on his bottom lip, Sam tries to keep his focus on the game happening in front of him but can't help sneaking the occasional glance at Laylah.

Okay, so physical education, was not something Tristan-Castiel was fond of. But still, to keep up his grades, he would be forced to attend. He silently changed into his normal gym outfit, completed by his own Captain America jacket. He silently stood by Sam, and Zara. His sea green/blue eyes would widen when he noticed he was not put on the team of Sam, but with Natalia.....and Alessia. His form would silently move towards the area his team stood. He would hold his jacket closer to him, so he wouldn't be hit by anything. As if it were his own shield.

"Ey, podyshat' v techeniye minuty, nemnogo lyubvi,"
he heard an older female speak. His body slightly tensed up, as he turned to see Natalia. Following her directions, he silently took a breath. ""Ne stavit' vysokiye tseli. Tsel' na nizkom urovne. Kik, gde ona po-prezhnemu igrat', kak i gde Ketrin." the girl spoke again. Tristan-Castiel nodded and would respond. Da! Spasibo Mat' Natal'ya .... YA imeyu v vidu ..... Spasibo Natal'ye! [Yes! Thank you Mother Natalia....I-I-I mean.....Thank you Natalia!] the male would blush a red color as he focused and got into the position. His dark blue eyes would focus on the ball coming from him, aiming as Natalia told him. He bit down on his lip, as he felt the ball come into contact with his foot. He winced, as he saw the ball roll at a rather fast pace, and took off towards the first base position.

"Thank God it's Friday!"

Location: The Brentwood School
Outfit: x
Mood: Focused
Gym class had actually passed by fairly quickly for Gabby. If it wasn't for the California heat most days, she would have been able to say that she actually enjoyed coming outside for the class. It was an easy way to break up the day, and seeing as it came right before lunch, it was the perfect way to work up an appetite. Like the rest of her schedule this year, she was also able to say that she was pretty satisfied with her placement based upon her classmates. Most of the senior girls who were a part of her clique had gym third period, but given Gabby's ranking and social standing, it was never a struggle for her to find people willing to talk to her. Having Katherine and Natalia in this class, on top of other Royals, like Timothy, Lennox and Sebastian, made it all the more easier for her to find the class to be pleasurable.

Gabby was no jock, that was for sure, but her personality also made it easy for her to become competitive, if the game could spark her interest enough. Kickball wasn't incredibly exciting for her, but she did her part to actually try to help her team win, and that effort was what landed her on first base during the final play. Natalia had kicked, and then Timothy had went, and Gabby's kick had allowed Nat to make it home, leaving only her and Tim on the bases when Tristan was called up to kick. While Gabrielle wasn't one to outright bully anyone who had not done her any wrong, even she couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes and internally groaning at the sight of the timid boy making his way to the plate. Out of everyone on their team, it just had to be him who was going to make or break the game. Timothy was an athletic guy, and Gabby was convinced that if anyone would be able to make it home, it would be him, but Tristan had to give him something to work with, and she was unsure if he would even be able to do that. Nonetheless, she readied herself to run, even though she knew that at this point, her role didn't mean much. Timothy would either make it home or he wouldn't, and that would be the deciding factor in the game.

Eli hadn't expected Tristan to be able to kick the ball at all, nonetheless kick it into a perfect spot that gave him, and Gabrielle and Timothy enough time to start running. Eli had automatically spun around to watch the ball head towards Katherine, and had started stepping backwards while doing it, while yelling for her to throw it to home, where he was heading. She was oblivious, and though it took only a few seconds, the amount of time that it took for Bas to step in and grab the ball felt like eons to Elijah. Beads of sweat were running down his forehead, partly due to the heat, but mostly out of stress, as the kickball sailed through the air towards, him but not quick enough. A foot on home base, he caught it just after Timothy had reached him, and Mr. Lessig was quick to shout, "Safe!" to declare a win for the opposing team. "Safe? Are you kidding me? I had at least three solid seconds over him, and you're gonna say that he's safe?!" Elijah was lucky enough that even in the heat of the moment, he was wise enough to refrain from throwing some expletives into his objection, since they were definitely on the tip of his tongue. In reality, Mr. Lessig's call was probably accurate, even though it undeniably was a close call. Timothy's foot had hit home base just a second before Elijah had caught the ball that Sebastian had hurled his way, so at the very least, Eli's claim of him having caught the ball three full seconds before Timothy had even reached the base was dramatic, at best. "Sore loser" was probably the best way to describe Eli at times like this. Given his competitive nature, coupled with his upbringing where he always got his way, losing wasn't something that he knew how to work with, even at seventeen years old. He would never admit that he lost fairly, and somehow, it was always a bad call, or cheating, that had allowed the other team to win, if you asked him.

In this case, he had already proclaimed that Mr. Lessig's call was garbage, but as he turned back to examine his teammates, who were making their way in from the outfield now that the teacher had proclaimed that the game was over, and they could all head back to the locker rooms, Eli also decided that the teams had been separated unfairly. Suddenly, he decided that the other team had ten times as many athletic players as his team did, and he automatically wanted to dispel any talent that his teammates who actually were jocks, had. Even though Laylah had made countless good plays throughout the day, he wanted to blame her for every play that she had missed, even if she hadn't been positioned anywhere near the ball at that point. In his head, had Bas gotten to the ball sooner on this play, or thrown it a little faster, they would have won by a long shot. Lennox was being as useless as ever, and God forbid he even comment on the other players, like Katherine, who he could blame for costing them an entire's game worth of effort. It was amusing, really, how worked up he could get over losing a stupid little game, that literally counted for nothing, but it just went back to how badly he hated losing. Rather than being a good sport and congratulating Tim and that team on their win, or even just being a semi-normal person and actually annoyed, but not actually angry, it was very clear with Eli that he was pissed. He headed off of the field without even bothering to wait for any of his friends, but as he passed Tim and the home plate area, he said, "Save the comments for a day when you fairly beat me. If my team wasn't absolute shit, you wouldn't have even made it to first base to begin with. I'll sit out the next game and take an absence for the class before I get stuck on a team with your girlfriend again. I'd take the mute over her, and that's saying something," he said callously, as if thinking Tristan was superior to Kat was a real insult. He continued walking after he spoke, knowing that he was red in th face for more reasons than just being physically overheated.

As much as Katherine had told herself that this shopping trip was just going to be for clothes for tomorrow night's party, with everything that had went on today, she had lost sight of that goal. Shopping tonight was being done for the sole purpose of retail therapy, and that was why she didn't care about how unnecessary the bathrobe, bikini, skirt, sweatshirt, and sneakers, that were hanging in the fitting room, were. Absolutely none of them were intended to be options for tomorrow, and all you needed to do was take one look at her closet to know that she didn't need any more "just because" clothes. This was what happened when Katherine was upset, though. The only thing that she wanted to do was shop or complain, and luckily for her, today she got to do both. Following Sebastian snapping on her, which Katherine would eagerly describe as him "just completely showing his true colors by being so dramatic and basically saying he wanted to kill me", Katherine had relayed the story at least twenty times throughout the rest of the day to anyone who asked. Unsurprisingly, she put far more effort into making sure that everyone knew that Lennox had stepped in to save her from "that maniac", than she did her school work, and by the time school let out, she was more than ready to do something relaxing. Relaxing didn't entail her letting up on the subject, though, but since she decided that she had made her point clear enough to Nat earlier in the day, she did a good job at showing self-restraint by waiting until she and Gabrielle had moved on to the Versace store, while Natalia and Arizona remained back in the Celine store. "I really just don't get what Nat sees in him. Sure, he's not the ugliest person in the world but that's exactly why they say that an ugly personality can make a person ugly either way. Like, I'm telling you Gabby, he was literally on his way to go find a baseball bat or something to attack me with when Lennox jumped in to save me. He's literally a psychotic maniac, and to think that I didn't even do anything to him! I mean, can you imagine what he's going to be like towards Nat if she says one thing wrong? We can tune into 'Dateline' in about three months to find out, at the rate that she's on!"

Gabrielle already had a neon green bikini that she was planning on wearing tomorrow. She had other options at home too, but the neon of this particular option made it seem like a statement piece. It would say that she was single, and proud of it, and even though that wasn't a state of mind that she was actually in, she wished she was, so she was content with allowing the rest of the world to think that she was already there. She knew that she would probably spend most of the night clothed, so she had a few rompers and dressed set aside as options to wear over the bikini too. Because of that, she wasn't as in need of a shopping trip as Kat insisted she was, but who was Gabby to say no to an afternoon on Rodeo Drive? She was always open to shopping, and agreed to accompany the trio of juniors after school. Although they stopped in a few stores before leaving Nat and Ari in Cรฉline and moving on to Versace, all Gabby had purchased today was a new beach towel from Tory Burch. Only because of Katherine's insistence, she had taken a few things into the dressing room at Versace, and was in the middle of sliding into one of the dresses when Kat launched herself back into the same story that everyone within a five mile radius had probably heard today. Gabrielle had been sympathetic towards Kat, only because they were close friends though, and not because she believed what the girl said to be the truth. Gabby thought that Sebastian was a very good guy, and she had been close enough herself during the game to catch the end of the altercation. She had not heard what Bas had said to Kat, but she had seen him walk off (with no apparent signs of wanting to come back with a bat in hand to attack her...) and only then, be punched unexpectedly by Knox. Gabby was privy enough to know that Kat didn't want to her anything other than sympathy and confirmation that Bas was the worst person on the planet, and she had offered enough of that reassurance earlier to want to continue doing it now. Instead, she focused on another piece of what Kat said. "Don't you think it's weird that Timothy didn't stand up for you? That Lennox had to be the one to come over and defend your honor?" she inquired, her voice innocently curious, though the same couldn't exactly be said for her motives.

"He said he didn't even see what happened until Mr. Lessig had already pulled them apart," Katherine answered, her voice sounding frustrated, though it was only because she was staring at her reflection in the mirror, after trying on the bikini. She couldn't pinpoint what she hated about herself this time, but she knew that she hated something, and she instantly pulled the bathrobe on to cover up. "Knox is just such a good friend, he really is," she continued, though very distracted as she now took a picture of her reflection in the mirror, happier now that she was covered by the robe, before sending the picture to Natalia, followed by "yes or no".

"Oh, come on, Kat! You don't really believe that, do you? Everyone on the field turned to look when he started yelling at you. Even you said that he was basically screaming at you. Do you really think Timothy was that oblivious?"

"If he had heard, he would have come over," Katherine answered, though her tone was less certain than she wished it was, as she began to second guess what she thought to be true. "Why do you think he wouldn't have?"

"I'm not saying that I think anything. All I'm trying to say is that if I were you, I would be skeptical of the story. You have to remember that he and Sebastian are friends, and you know how boys are. They tell you that you're the most important person in the world, but that's never including their guy friends. They always put them first. Always."

Arizona had spent longer than was really necessary in the Cรฉline store. In her defense, it was an out of character move. At least compared to her friends, she wasn't materialistic, and she rarely ever got too hung up over high end items. She definitely indulged in luxurious things, but if her aunt and uncle rejected a request for her to charge something expensive to her card that they paid the bills on, she would normally accept no as the answer and move on. The bag that she was fixated on today wasn't anything spectacular, but she needed a new black bag, and this one fit every standard she had in mind. Of course, $2,700 was a lot of money for a purse, but in Beverly Hills, it was simply the norm. If Ari hadn't grown up outside of this world, she wouldn't have thought anything of it. Even knowing that it was a lot, though, she reasoned that she deserved it. She was going to be put under a lot of pressure this year to get into a good school, and given that it was her aunt and uncle who pushed her so hard to be perfect, a bag seemed like a tiny favor for them to do for her. While she lived off of their money, it wasn't like she frequently asked for very expensive things like this - not compared to her friends, anyway. Ari did a good job at not feeling insecure about money, because again, she wasn't poor and her aunt and uncle were wealthy enough to fit in well with her friends' parents, but a lot of her friends also happened to be a form of next level rich. Kat's dad essentially owned the store that they were standing in, for God's sake, so of course the brunette couldn't understand her dilemmas, and mostly, Ari thought the same of Nat and Gabby. That was why she only waved Kat and Gabby off when the two expressed interest in continuing down Rodeo Drive to other stores in the vicinity.

It was understandably easier for Katherine to pass right through the store, seemingly bored and uninterested in a way that was uncommon for the shopaholic, but made sense once you considered that this brand was one that was enveloped under the company that her father was the head of. Of course she didn't want to spend time looking at the products, because she had already viewed each and every one of them months before they even hit the shelf. Ari wanted to punch herself merely for the amount of effort she had put into analyzing the girl in the last few minutes, and just because she was overthinking that, she didn't mind pacing herself and Nat a little slower after they left the store, unfortunately, with Ari leaving empty handed. Although she didn't want the bring up what she had texted Nat about earlier, the uncomfortable air she felt whenever she was near Kat, combined with how her head was hurting today merely from all of the overthinking, led her to bring it up... or at least start a conversation that she figured she could lead there. "I heard you're on the verge of being appointed world's worst friend over today's kickball fiasco."

Nat was here out of love.

Having spent a lifetime surrounded by luxury and high-end living, she had grown increasingly unimpressed with the act of shopping. Half of the items in the stores they frequented were already items she either dismissed or already purchased with the exception of those I purchased items due to having already bought something from an African luxury brand. While luxury was luxury, Natalia had never hidden the fact that she preferred Black-owned luxury businesses to...well, the standard. And the standard was supported by enough millionaire and billionaire babies around the world that Nat didn't think they'd really miss her business. Plus, unlike the others (but almost like Kat who received items long before they saw shelf life), Nat already had a selection of bathing suits to choose from at home. It had been delivered upon her father's request, just to outshine Isabel for the petty moment. So Nat didn't really need to be here. That could've also been the sociable introvert in her talking more than the not-easily-impressed side of her, but the point was that Nat was here out of loving Katherine Arnault.

Even if the brunette was adamant that she was not.

Even if Nat found herself keeping Arizona company more-so than the brunette in question.

"I'm always on the verge of being the worst best friend if you ask that child," she replied after a small laugh. Natalia hadn't even taken a side before Kat assumed that she was obviously on Sebastian's. Which meant a very snappy Kat with a sharp glare that warded off any of the brunette's regular tantrum. Whether that has been an acknowledgement that Nat would not deal with Kat's bullshit without hurting her feelings, remained unknown but Kat had passive-aggressively insisted that Nat still come. But made sure Nat knew how upset she was over a situation Katherine had started. "I'll find her a red number in case she actually listens to your friend and wears yellow tomorrow." That was still a puzzling concept to Nat. There was literally no reason for Gabrielle to have insisted that Kat wear yellow and it stuck in Nat's brain. She figured she could always be a fail-safe back-up in case Kat listened and needed to rectify the situation, especially if her insecurities decided to announce their continued existence. But...it still was puzzling. Nat gave Arizona a sidelong glance, contemplative, before inquiring. "So...do we still have a situation or are we pretending like the most pressing matter in your life is the Celine bag you could've let me buy for you?" Natalia gave the redhead a pointed look as she posed the question, a knowing smile forming.

"My aunt and uncle are such control freaks that they probably would have made me return it if I showed up at home with that, without getting their permission," Ari reasoned light-heartedly, as the girls headed down the street. Since Ari had not been present during the morning conversation that involved Gabby suggesting to Kat that it would be fun for her to wear yellow tomorrow to keep Timothy on her toes, she was lost as to what Nat was referring to her, and rather than addressing her own situation first, she returned back to that. "What do you mean? Don't tell me that Kat and Tim are having relationship problems," she said, rolling her eyes. A small voice in the back of her head said, "At least Kat gets to have relationship anything with him, since apparently, she's the only one good enough to meet his relationship standards," but when a countering voice in her head chimed in to remind her that she was just as jealous that Tim got to have relationship problems with Kat, she decided to shut both of those internal voices up for the moment. With Versace in sight, it seemed like now was the best time to talk about this, before Kat was right in front of them. "But yeah, there's not really a situation. I was dramatic this morning, but I guess today reminded me that my non-existent relationship drama sucks, but your love triangle with Sebastian and Kat sucks even more. Two beautiful people feuding over your heart has got to be tough," she teased, deciding that it was easier to leave the topic at that. It was definitely easier to talk about how conflicted she felt over her crush on Kat, and sexuality in general, over text or while intoxicated. Now, she just felt awkward, like her cheeks were on the verge of burning red to signify that.

Nat only rolled her eyes at Arizona's explanation of not letting Natalia purchase the bag for her and she even smirked lightly at the girl's disbelief towards Kat and Tim having possible relationship problems, but her eyebrows rose - an indication of her surprise - at the other girl's display of...jealousy? That was jealousy Nat detected and she was more sure of it being towards Tim having Kat than vice versa. The two has talked once before about the situation and Ari may have dodged Nat's inquiries just as much as she sought out her advice, but Nat never thought Ari had real feelings for Tim. At least, not in the same plane as her feelings for Kat.

Natalia snorted lightly at the idea of her having a "love triangle", though, as they approached Versace. "Please, it would hardly be a love triangle." She replied before staring at Arizona with the utmost serious expression on her face. "I'd just have them both to myself. Imagine the hate sex." The last part was spoken with a teasing smirk followed by a giggle, a sign of acquiescence. Natalia wasn't the type to press private matters, especially when in public, but particularly because that wasn't who she was. She was confrontational, sure, but she had limits depending on the situation. And people like Arizona and even Sebastian, were almost as private as Nat. She recognized a request for an out when she saw one. Deflection was very old friend, after all. "Still...it was weird. Gabs was telling her that she needed to wear yellow to keep Tim interested," she explained as she pushed open the door to Versace. "It was weird because there was no reason for that. At all. Tim hasn't given anyone a reason to doubt him, so the idea was unnecessary. I know it's just a color but she knows what it means to convince Kat that. So what's the purpose?"

Ari had to laugh out loud at Nat's response to her comment about the love triangle. It was funny, but in reality, the relationship that Nat and Kat possessed probably was as strong as most romantic relationships. They were best friends, sure, but there was a dependence level there that Ari could only compare to actual relationships, and god only knew how much the two could bicker like an old, married couple. Her expression grew a bit more serious as they entered Versace, after Nat explained what her comment about Kat wearing yellow had meant. That was weird. Ari knew that Gabby and Tim were close too, so knowing that, it seemed all the more weird that she would actually degrade Timothy's character in such a way, when they were friends. It wasn't like a comment like that could be taken as her trying to be a good friend to Kat, while slandering Tim's trustworthiness for good reason, because just as Nat thought, Ari too, agreed that Tim had never done anything to make himself seem uninterested in Katherine. Ari had personal feelings involved, so that probably played a role in her opinion too, but if anything, she felt like Kat didn't have to worry at all about him being interested. Clearly, she thought, that Tim must be over interested in Kat to have broken his non-dating-mantra, just for her. "That is weird," she confirmed, perplexed herself as her eyes scanned their surroundings for their friends. They weren't in sight, even as they continued further into the store, so Ari didn't feel bad about continuing with the conversation. "You never know with Gabby," she stated, considering leaving it at that, because that was the truth, and Ari really didn't know what Gabby's motive could have been. She pondered aloud, about the first thing that popped into her mind a few seconds later, though. "You don't think that she's trying to sabotage their relationship to have Tim for herself, now that she's single, do you?" she asked, followed up by, "And they said this was where we should meet them, right?" She wasn't quite impatient, but given that the store was massive with two floors, Ari didn't want to have to search the entire place only to find out that their friends weren't even in there.

"I don't know what to think. I just know that I don't like it, either way," Natalia murmured as the two girls peered around the store in search of their friends. Nat made it a habit of not Bering too surprised about what others would and could do. She wasn't a fan of having a shock value, particularly one she herself couldn't see coming. So she had made it a priority to not think the worst of Gabrielle earlier upon her first making the color suggestion. It could have been relatively harmless if Nat had made the effort to not think on it too hard. There could have been a balance in color aesthetics; Kat could have been the yellow blending with two greens since the three usually stuck together during parties. At the same time, Natalia was neither optimistic nor naive. She would have never made it this far if she had ever been either. Which was why she couldn't help but him thoughtfully at Arizona's question before having given her response, a nagging feeling in the back of her head.

Just as Nat considered texting Katherine to see where the duo was, her own phone buzzed and Nat pulled it out of her pocket to see the picture and message from her friend. Smirking, and seriously wanting to laugh at how cute the brunette could be by trying to wear a robe over a bikini, Nat nodded to Arizona. "Dressing room, babe. Apparently someone's gotten Versace happy." Natalia explained as she led the way, familiar enough with the store layout to know where the changing rooms were. It wasn't a long walk but it was long enough for her and Arizona to catch the last two sentences Gabrielle fed Katherine from their separate changing stalls. With no indication of the rest of the conversation but their own conversation in mind, Nat gave Arizona a thoughtful sidelong glance before turning her attention back to the stalls. "Cute pic, Kat, but I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with tomorrow's dress code unless that black is the darkest shade of red you could find," she settled on stating as opposed to warning the two girls of their arrival.
