"As much as other unmentionable wealthy students at the esteemed B-Wood are known for flaunting their family names and wealth as loudly as a baby wailing for milk, anything you need to know about me is literally on the internet. I didn't know this before a few months ago, but I apparently have a Wiki page dedicated to me now. They have me down as some kind of model since I got paid to do photo shoots with Galore Magazine, Modeliste, Jezebel, and a host of other magazines within the last year. I will say that I'm not making a career out of this, I don't think. I just liked having the extra money to send back to Angolan charities. So, you have somewhere to go if you want to know me. And if what is provided does not satisfy whatever nit-picky, nosy little part of you that wants the goods on my life, well then that sounds like a personal problem. Much like the case it was for my followers in Switzerland and Africa, who have far more access to social media than other countries would have you believe. I never explained why I was headed off to Twinkle Town and I'm not going to. I'm here, have been since eighth grade, and I don't regret the decision. I live with my babushka, I visit my parents every holiday at least for a few days, and anything else that you happen to learn is what I decide to give you. Now, that we've gotten that out of the way, I can actually start the introductions.

For starters, I'm Natalia dos Santos. Baba convinced my mom to add on the Dangote as a hyphenated addition out of faux respect for my Nigerian family and I love it, but my full and legal name is a mouthful that even I can't swallow sometimes. When my mom declared that she was going to keep me after her and Daddy's one night stand from hell, it was a declaration of war for names. He wanted to name me after my ìyá and his mother, Mariya. Mom was adamant that my name would either be Tatiana like my babushka, Tati, or something with Russian origins. Needless to say, things were settled once I was out of the womb. The last name is still a sore spot, so I've been reveling in keeping the dos Santos as my common surname while jet-setting across the world on a plane that has the Dangote signature and a yacht with my Dad's signature on it. See? Unlike either of my parents, who honestly should have known better than to answer their body's lustful calls if they were gonna bitch at each other for the rest of their lives, I know how to compromise. That's the thing about us Scorpios - we might have all of this emotional what-have-you underneath our thick skin, but we're level-headed under most circumstances. And when you have two families like my own ready to rip each other a new one just because one did more for me today than the other, well, someone's gotta be the logical one.

My birthday is in November and I'll be turning seventeen. Since people like to speculate, the truth of the matter is that I'm not a virgin nor am I straight. The line I walk is very curved, fluid. To put it plainly, as long as it is a someone in my bed and not a thing, I'm down. And I'd like to think that both of my exes have managed to walk away from our relationships equally satisfied, to some extent. And on the topic of relationships, despite the fact that there seems to be a stigma surrounding teens and relationships, the simple fact of the matter is that I don't have time for games. It's one of the main reasons why I don't do sex. If we're doing this, then we're doing it. I'm not saying that I enter every relationship with marriage and all that in my head as that is unrealistic, but once you're mine, you're mine. Which is why most people that know me don't come to me for that meaningless hook-up shit. I don't fuck you and let it be done. That's not how I roll. When you're in my bed, nine times out of ten, you're in MY bed and you're not going elsewhere. And I make damn sure that you feel the imprint of me so deeply within your pores that you have no choice but to come back and accept the simple truth that you're mine, and that I won't play that in-and-out-bullshit that my peers like doing. And if that's too intense for you, if the idea of me having that kind of power of you and you more than likely being given the very same privilege over me frightens you, then you can turn to all the other little fish in the sea and I'll keep on. It's not really complicated."

Naturally petite in her stature, Natalia's body can be misleading in that its diminutiveness does not at all convey the power in her lean muscles. The majority of Natalia's weight comes in the form of lean muscle mass as it is quite easy for her to gain muscle with her mesomorph build. While it is quite easy for her to maintain her admirable abdominal muscles due to a fast metabolism, Natalia can also gain fat depending on how much she slacks in her diet after a few weeks. With her spoon shaped figure, Natalia is nicely proportioned in her curvature despite her athleticism, though others might see her as slightly thicker in the thighs than others who share her height.

There is no denying Natalia's ethnic background as her skin is naturally dark. It is her most distinguishing feature, after all. Whether you're like a few admirers who have no problem distinguishing her as "Kit Kat legs" on most days (and she can't hear them) or even her babushka who calls her complexion ebony, Natalia's naturally smooth brown skin stands out in the California climate, darkening depending upon her exposure. Her diamond shaped face consists of high cheek bones, soulful dark eyes set beneath naturally thick eyebrows, and full, luscious lips. While Nat has yet to decide upon a tattoo, she has the standard earlobe piercing in both of her ears, a bellybutton piercing she loves showing off, and a double helix piercing in her left ear.

Because there was a shortage of natural haired women in Angola due to a culture of wanting to relax black women's hair, it was up to Nat's babushka and ìyá to teach her what to do for her naturally super curly hair. Despite years of using various products and consulting curly hair lines, Natalia's favorite and most recent love is with the As I Am hair products from Dr. Syed. When she wants a bit of an extra vibrancy to her curls, Nat will wear bantu knots for a day or so before letting her hair out and she has a tendency to wear Senegalese twists or braids for a few days, though her favorite style definitely consists of having her curls loose in their thick glory, even if that means needing to use a curler to do some extra tweaking. Occasionally, she'll even straighten her hair to do something different. She does a deep conditioning for her hair every month. She primarily uses Savane Organics and Khuraira for her skincare and makeup, respectively. She also uses Ilera Apothecary for the rest of her body.

In order to keep her hourglass figure in shape and remain as fit as she does, Natalia continues to remain faithful to her love of dancing, gymnastics, and now of kickboxing. The latter was simply developed out of a need to provide her the peace that the highly popularized sport of yoga does not, but Nat still dances despite not particularly making a career out of it. She knows that she isn't the best at eating completely clean and healthy since she has a deep love for meat lover's pizza, so Nat not only has her private chef assist in providing meals that are tasty and healthy, but also cooks with her babushka instead of going out as much as others her age would. It barely stops her from ordering sushi from her favorite place, but at least she does have some kind of control.

As effortless and youthful as Natalia's wardrobe may seem, the one thing she has never done is hide her curves. Even though her body isn't up to everyone else's standards, it is up to hers and so if she feels like wearing figure-hugging streetwear for the day to showcase her bust and flat tummy, then that is what she is going to do. There has always been a bit of feminine sensuality in Natalia's typically casual outfits, but there's no denying the splice of edginess added to the urban look she is known for. Natalia has always believed in the "less is more" mentality as it pertains to her makeup. Regardless, her with makeup and on her regular, is typically a 9.5/10, but without she is typically graded as an 8/10.

|| Strengths ||
A strength worth mentioning is the fact that Natalia is one of the most trustworthy people one could ever have on their side. Regardless of how much she declares she loves hearing about other people's drama and the issues they can get themselves in to, whatever you've told her won't get out unless you told someone else who isn't Natalia. She doesn't go gossiping with the information that someone has trusted her with. Also, the fact that she's a very perceptive person is a beneficial strength to have. From a young age, particularly because of her parents and their foolishness, Nat realized that one couldn't trust everyone - not even those closest to her. She's a keen observer and has been known to read people at the drop of a dime. Combined with that is an exceptionally sharp memory. It works in her favor also that she's too sure of herself to allow superficial insults to break her heart and that she's too direct to ever let anyone presume to have power over her.

|| Weaknesses ||
Natalia is the queen of holding grudges. She never forgets a wrong. It won't be something as trivial as someone stepping on her Balenciaga on accident, but if she feels betrayed or that someone has slighted her with the most lackluster of apologies, best believe that she hasn't forgotten. And best believe that, depending on the situation, she's waiting for karma to come around - whether or not that means she needs to give an assist in that karmic retribution. Also, it's a problem that she can be an objective problem solver for those she loves, but can't extend that level of rationality towards her own issues. Lastly, while Nat's temper isn't always easy to incite, it's definitely a force to be reckoned with when released. Ask the Rosey student whose fingers she broke.

"As ridiculous as it might seem for me to take on a quote from a Disney movie as something to live by, this quote by Rafiki will always mean something for me. So many different people use the past as an excuse to be bitter, petty or even wallow in their own self-pity. Things don't work out, the people that had been in your life were probably shitty - so what? At the end of the day, I don't wanna always look at my past and make that my excuse for why I don't do the things that I want and be who I want to be. Are you shaped by your past? Yes, there are some things you can't escape from. But I don't wanna be that person whose past is so heavily entrenched in her present that her future looks as bleak as the life she's living now. Which is why I explore so much, have fun with the people who are here now, and love as deeply as I do. I'm not running from my past and being so afraid of being confronted by it that I don't learn. I know what not to do now, but I will not set myself up for displeasure in my future because of what happened back in the day."
“The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” ~ Rafiki, The Lion King

|| Personality ||
There is no denying the sheer raw intensity that lay dormant in Natalia dos Santos' deceptively petite frame. In all things, she is barely restrained energy, moderating her physical, mental and emotional strength as she sees fit. There is no controlling or tempering her unless she gives you that power, which is a rarity in and of itself. Such an internal cacophonous dissonance of the soul can only be tempered by the newly dubbed Princess of Africa herself and she damn sure revels in it. It should come to no surprise, then, that peers and adults alike can find Natalia intimidating. Though packed in a small package, her very pores leak out a dangerous mix of alluring and frightening spikes of energy. On one hand, with the very fact that Nat walks with a naturally sensual yet at-ease switch to her hips and her head stagnant in its imposingly upright position, there's no denying the magnetism of this dark-complected beauty. She knows that she doesn't fit the mold of Standardized Western beauty; has known it since she was five years old. And yet, her confidence remains impenetrable and rock-solid. It's enough to have one so caught on her orbit that you hardly notice how fully ensnared you are until she flashes a brilliant smile your way or has you pinned to her California king bed. So sure of herself, Natalia's confidence can easily be interpreted as a vanity that she won't give you the satisfaction of denying. Why should she? She knows that she is gorgeous, sexy. Absolutely worthy of lust, love and admiration. Why deny the validity of her own existence for the sake of another person's delicate sensibilities? On the other hand, such carefully orchestrated control is undoubtedly frightening. Nat is one of the few people you don't want to get into a staring contest with because she will surely win - and it won't be just because she has stared at you unflinchingly as she is wont to do in the face of opposition or anyone who dares presume to have any sort of power over her. It is because of her uncanny ability to read a situation and a person down to their very seams, penetrating and so damn intent on finding out your truths that you almost want to hide. There is no secret that Natalia can't discover for she has the uncanny resourcefulness to find out whatever it is that she wants. It might not occur as quickly as the small quirk of her lips - a smug smile - would have you to believe, but trust that she is reading you and know that you have every right to be afraid. This heady mix of fearing whether or not she'll punch you, tear you a part in the bedroom, or even both is possibly one of the many actual reasons why she could never be a top tier Royal. It also is one of the many reasons that, despite not being a Lifer student at Brentwood, Natalia has done nothing but earned both respect and fear from her classmates - enough so that not many doubt that she would end them if anyone came at her incorrectly for that little tidbit.

What further exacerbates the intriguing mystery that is Natalia dos Santos is the myriad of facial expressions she possesses and the fact that she has remained a bit of an enigma, even to those closest to her. While there is no denying when there's a glimmer of amusement shining in Natalia's eyes or when she's point blankly judging you, there also needs to be an understanding that this sparsely satisfactory insight into her emotions is allowed, not because of your own keen observation skills, but due to Nat's own allowance of it. Nat learned at a young age how to veil her emotions - which is partly why she has no choice but to exert her energy into kickboxing, an outlet for the more violent energy she's simmering with - and it is usually of her own volition that anyone sees the full depth of her emotions. Intelligent, typically rational, and quick on her feet at every turn, Nat retains a propensity for keeping different parts of herself hidden until she wants them to be discovered, until she deems herself comfortable enough to allow you to see all the different sides of her. There's always one more thing you're discovering, like the fact that for a girl whose wealth and overall debonair disposition would have you believing otherwise, she indulges in far more television than her bookshelf would have you to believe and that she could possibly fan-girl with the best of them if given the right topic. To this day, her friends can only presume the actual relationship she has with her parents for Natalia is just that good at keeping what she wants private, private. It is why she is probably one of the best people to keep your secrets hidden with; so good is she at keeping her own secrets safe from prying minds, she holds a tight leash onto your own, enabling most people - particularly, those who are able to see past their initial intimidation - to trust her. Nat doesn't betray a confidence unless she herself has been betrayed and that is something that should not be done. Combating the I-could-hardly-be-bothered mentality is a remorseless vindictiveness that should not be taken lightly. This is what makes her her grandmother's child.

Image
Natalia never forgets an act of kindness. Equally, she never forgets a betrayal and that is where her true cold, callous and unforgiving side comes out to play. To put it quite plainly, it's rare for Natalia to forget anything. If one was intimidated simply by her just existing on a regular day, there is no denying the actual fear of what Natalia can do. There is no rage like the one Natalia can reign down because the fear of violence is always underfoot. The underlying threat beneath her already intense stare manifests into a violent energy that she puts into either gunning for you mentally or taking the chance and coming after you physically. That keen observational skill transcribed previously turns into the exploitation of weaknesses and if there is one thing Nat is in this regard, it is exact and cutthroat. She knows how to dig deep and to truly hurt. Some might think it is Natalia's wealth that enables her to somehow aid in the removal of another student from their school, but it is the intensity of her mental manipulation that leaves one unable to remain in the same space as her knowing that you have wronged her. That's why lovers and friends usually steer clear of actually betraying her. After all, Nat warns in advance: she always gets what she wants and she takes care of what's hers. She never half-asses anything, particularly romance, which is why she doesn't frequently participate in meaningless sex. You can either love her or hate her, and that is the one thing she'll leave up to you.

Despite her rather harsher traits, Natalia is still a very likable young woman who knows how to turn the charm on. She doesn't do it all of the time simply because she does not believe in pandering or kissing anyone's ass, but her magnetism would simply cease to exist if she was just plain intimidating and mean-looking. For those who are friends or know a friendly side to her, Natalia is usually the one who is down for just about anything. Despite being known for more sophisticated acts befitting that of a Prep like playing chess with her babushka, there is nothing sophisticated about the fact that Nat has no qualms against boarding a jet just to explore some water cave somewhere in Southern Europe or ride the highest roller-coaster at the amusement park. Nat is the type to get bored quite easily depending on the activity, so she fearlessly takes on challenging tasks or adventures that others might be a bit squeamish about. She is loyalty personified and a friend you can, no doubt, trust to have your back, blindly even. She believes whole-heartedly in being faithful - whether that means to those she cares about or her own beliefs. After all, it is what she expects from others and Nat knows how to be fair. There is no expectation for others that she wouldn't bring to the table herself other than being completely open with her emotions. Blame it on the fact that she has a natural distrustful cynic inside from dealing with parents who barely put in the effort to show that they cared. Nat naturally loves with her entire being because she damn sure doesn't know any other way; she just moderates the intensity of it for fear of scaring someone off or coming off too strongly when someone involved themselves with her with no intention of being as committed as she is. Just as she makes no idle threats, the same goes for promises.

Surprisingly enough, her interpersonal skills are definitely something to be admired. Again, Nat is someone who can actually be trusted and is a good friend. She is the one anyone can trust when it comes to giving advice and being a well of wisdom as long as it doesn't force her to address her own emotions. Because she keeps such a strict control over her more volatile emotions and her own pain, Natalia is able to untangle mysteries with the tenaciousness of a blood-hound and is capable of grasping all the complexities of an issue while keeping her nose pointed towards the target. She is astute at finding solutions to problems, though it should come to no surprise that she can be blunt and occasionally a smart ass. Nat doesn't always believe in sugarcoating the issue; if her opinion was requested, then her opinion will be given and again, if she is cutthroat during her worst times, there's no denying that there is a bluntness in her everyday life as well. She just also knows when to be just a bit more delicate, occasionally to get the result she wants from a person - but more notably, a bit of a more protective side emerging in the face of those she cares about. And that's the big picture. Regardless of how cool, calm and collected she can be - no matter the intimidating energy rankling just beneath, Nat is a girl who can hate hard, but love just as intensely. She shows her affection in subtle ways - a quick squeeze of your shoulder in solidarity, making sure those around her have someone to lean on in times of stress without actually saying such, referring to loved ones with Russian terms of endearments, etc. She can be humorous and entertaining at times, especially when she's being a trolling little shit with her dry, occasionally dark humor and deadpanning, or is simply comfortable with you, and there's always so much more about her to discover. She's sexy and perhaps a tad bit vain, but there is no friend or lover quite like the one Natalia can be. Or enemy, if you really wanted to go there. She typically does not want to as that is more energy than she would like to exert on trivial matters, but she won't hesitate if it comes down to it. Whichever side of that scale you fall on revolves around you and the choices you make. She's just living her life and doing so with the ones who actually matter, not the ones who think that they do.

|| History ||
When thinking of either the Dangote or the Dos Santos families, most of the private information that belong to their families are scarcely given to the public and all most people can do is speculate. Even to some of her closest friends, Natalia only meagerly provides clues and snippets of her childhood, simple and harmless memories that most would be satisfied by or she'll make them satisfied with. To be completely honest, dissatisfaction towards what Natalia chooses to share and not share means very little to her. They might be treated to sights of her doing something one wouldn't think she would, considering the information about herself she has given, such as playing chess against herself or reading some first edition of an old novella. To be particularly honest, unlike a few of the billionaires of the world, neither of the clans are common household names that Americans or even Europeans mention. Some don't even know that they are some of the richest people in the world. Though they are both prominent and infamous names in the whole of Africa - mostly due to being the two wealthiest families on the continent - most of what is provided to internet resources and the like are speculations made by those who have no idea what has gone down behind closed doors. For instance, despite the insurmountable work Isabel has done which has allowed the accumulation of a vast amount of wealth for a woman her age, most Internet resources and raggedy gossip columns insist that her wealth was won by her father's doing as the president of Angola. Instead of allowing the woman her due, she is given (recently, they have begun to call her the Queen Bitch of Africa), quite mockingly unlike the love her eldest child has been given by taking on the moniker, the title of "The Princess of Africa," alluding to everything she had ever earned in her own right as an entrepreneur being a direct result of being a president's daughter. Even Aliko Dangote, born from a notably affluent and wealthy Muslim family, is not safe from having his success and self-acquired wealth disparaged by allegations of his having harems and a plethora of affairs, as if all of his hard work mean nothing in the face of being a man without values. Most importantly, though, is the mystery and confusion around how Aliko Dangote and Isabel dos Santos wound up having a baby all those years ago when neither of them were barely able to remain as civil as the rest of their families.

If Natalia were to actually describe her conception, despite how much tact or class her parents would prefer she used, she would classify it as bluntly as "hate-fucking." After all, that was what it was. Rankling just beneath their shared distaste of one another was an actual attraction that neither Isabel nor Aliko wish to answer about. All Natalia knows is that the two of them were attending a fashion show in South Africa, they were at the same hotel, and then things happened. Things like Natalia. Both had walked away, initially, from that night with the desire to never speak of it again. Until Isabel confessed to her mother that she was pregnant and then everything was shot to hell. José Eduardo dos Santos and Tatiana Kukanova had long since been divorced, but concerning matters as they pertained to their daughter, the two of them could be a united force. While Isabel even fathomed the idea of an abortion, Tatiana devised that the best way to get back at whatever Isabel felt Aliko had done to her was to have the baby and hold it over his head, treat the child better than Aliko did any of his own neglected children. Of course, that wasn't exactly what happened considering how overjoyed Aliko's mother, Mariya was about the ordeal. While she lambasted her son for his infidelity against his wife (the marriage was failing, anyway), if there was one thing Mariya had been clear about, it was that there would be no child with Dangote blood in their system unattended for. So, instead of spending the next eighteen years possibly dealing with an unnecessary battle that petty Isabel would have wanted, there was actual maturity in the form of Natalia's grandparents. Maturity, but definitely not peace.

While Natalia gives one word responses, typically, when it comes to her childhood and the rest of her family, what she hasn't classified it as was horrible. It wasn't particularly abusive, though that is left to debated considering Isabel's mistreatment of her eldest child. What never needed to be explained is that when Tatiana decided to move to the states, there was no arguing with her about whether or not Natalia was coming with her. Isabel may had birthed Nat, but it was Tatiana and a live-in nurse who truly were her primary caretakers in that household. Natalia spent a lifetime being passed between Nigeria and Angola, both relatively close, but a hectic environment for any child. In one household (Isabel's), she was the eldest child and the least loved. Isabel gave Natalia whatever a child would want - pets, gymnastics and dance lessons in Europe, clothing to satisfy a village (all things, primarily, to distract Natalia enough that she was out of Isabel's sight) - but did not hesitate to exemplify her colorism against her child who came out darker than Isabel would have wanted. She even considered bleaching Nat's skin until Tatiana called a stop to it, and Nat has never forgotten the pride in her mother's eyes when her light-skinned twins were born. In the other household (Aliko's), Natalia was a middle child tolerated by her step-mother, hated by her siblings, and begrudgingly shown a smidgen of affection by a father who deemed it only necessary if there had been enough pictures in the media to suggest her and Isabel's closeness. Unless the two of them were trying to upstage one another, Natalia learned by the time she was six that she was unwanted by both parents and grudgingly kept to satisfy her grandparents. Which is why, if she does manage to share much of her childhood, it is obvious, without having to actually be outright spoken, that her most stable point was attending Le Rosey in Switzerland and staying at her babushka's estate in England.

A lot of Natalia's happier memories - and those are the ones that are wont to bring a smile upon her face, though it is very rare when she mentions them - consist of her grandparents and a little bit of Rosey. If she were honest, despite her love for her country and a desire to return, she has been her freest since arriving in the states. If she wasn't visiting art galleries and museums around the world with her ìyá Mariya on her father's dime, then it was at her mother's expense that she was exploring new restaurants, attending championship chess matches and generally traveling with her babushka, Tatiana. Her avô José signed her up for modeling gigs at a young age in what she called him out on as an attempt to lessen the blow of her mother's projected internal colorism, for which she has always been insurmountably grateful. There was a time that she, too, hated her own complexion for the vexation her mother seemed to possess for it and her. Her closest relationship and the only one she talks extensively about, however, is with her babushka. When Natalia's underlying energy she couldn't seem to expel into dancing or gymnastics completely manifested in the form of her finally breaking a classmate's fingers at Rosey, Tatiana signed her up for kickboxing. Isabel judged her; called her internal darkness and immediate primal reaction as a result of her darker complexion, a curse from her father's side. Tatiana was the one who surmised how much it was a result of emotions Natalia had grown exceptionally well at controlling, but never releasing. It was her babushka who taught her how calming cooking and how good focusing her energy on that could be, Tatiana who made Natalia fearless.

Which is why Natalia felt no inclination to explain to her followers why she decided to transfer to a rather basic private school in the states. A part of her reasoning might have stemmed from the fact that she had friends from Rosey who were moving to California as well, but the main one and the one she never felt the need to express was the fact that her babushka was going to be there. The only adult in her life who could be seen on her social media wanted her to come with her. Why stay in proximity to those who made it clear that she is unwanted when she can be in the continued company of one who does want her? It's the same mentality she carries for those she is friends with. Despite the distance, Natalia makes sure she visits Angola and Nigeria, not for the sake of either of her parents. Just for her ìyá and avô.

"What I will say is that I respect the fact that the two of them do try to make things work between them. Obviously, things don't exactly work, but at least one can say that they're trying. And if their trying happened to include them both buying me really expensive cars this year as the first vehicles that are solely mine and not something I share with my babushka, then I guess I can reap the benefits of their petty. At the end of the day, they are both my parents and, in a way, I love them. Should we be closer, especially considering I'm the first child she ever gave birth to? Yes, but it is what is. I'm not about to spend the rest of my life wondering about the could have beens and the what-ifs. They're of inconsequential value. I will say that I like Sindika. He's a bit of a dork and I'm still trying to see how the hell that became a thing, but he's cool."

"I love my ìyá Mariya. I obviously don't speak Yoruba, which is her primary language, so she always turns to English for me and is still teaching me Yoruba. Can't exactly learn six languages that fast. The point is that ìyá makes Nigeria bearable when I visit. The country is beautiful, but there's nothing like being with my ìyá and her playing in my hair. That was how we bonded - her being the main person taking care of my hair and making me fall in love with art. She's genuinely so sweet, but tougher than she looks. Literally the love of my life, as I tell everyone.

My relationship with my avô José is different from what I have with my babushka only because he reminds me too much of my mother...until he is out of his office and then he's not president. He's just my avô. We have debates on politics every single time we get together and like Baba, we can sit in silence just reading and still say we had a good time. He signed me up for modeling - still does - just to bring up my confidence in my skin. There are so many rumors as they pertain to the accumulation of my grandfather's wealth, to which I respond with indifference. I have had one of the best childhoods in the world because of him and I wouldn't change that. Do I think that more of his wealth could have gone to the Angolan people? Damn straight and I do my best to give back to the community. At the same time, I can give the same critique to all of the major powers in the world. The only difference between them and what has happened in Angola is that my country is still repairing itself from Portugal's colonization. A lot of the other countries were colonizers or benefited from colonization. Of course, everyone's gonna have something to say about a country filled with brown people; it's what they're good at, after all, when they no longer reap the benefits of said country.

My closest relationship out of everyone is with my Baba Tati. My Baba is literally my other half. All of my friends tease me because she's such an older version of myself with her dark complexion and sass. We talk a lot of shit in Russian when we're around people we don't like or who are annoying us, we're both pretty hard to take by surprise, we gossip over mariscos cozidos com gindungo and her favorite Russian vodka, and for her to be in her late sixties, Baba can still hand my ass to the cold hard ground in the middle of a sparring session. Baba was the one who introduced me to books and fighting and to loving the preparation of really good food. She knows me better than really anyone else in this world. My mother gets in her feelings when I say it, but the truth of the matter is that Baba is my mom. Isabel birthed me for her."

"My siblings and I aren't close. It's as simple as that. I will say that Abdul, on my Dad's side, and I get along alright considering no one wants him because he's the adopted one, but at this point, I don't see our estrangement as a cause for turmoil. They don't like me and I don't really think of them. Why put in the effort when someone else doesn't want to?"

Its not that Natalia has never had an issue with school. Some subjects she likes and does her best in and others, she does exceptionally in, but aren't as perfect as other classes. At the end of the day, what she does well is prioritize and making sure she gets school done to have the opportunity to do as she pleases without chastisement. She's landed a very exceptional 3.82 and it's not without her having earned it.

"It's apparently rare for any Non-Lifer to make it so high on the social ladder, but I could honestly care less about that. I'm at the perfect position for me to be at and so I have no complaints about being a cheerleader and a Prep, even when some of the latter makes me wanna kill them. The cheerleaders are a unit, which I appreciate, and the preps are people I can relate to, but I'm also at a position where I can go off and do as I please. Being any higher would require too much attention to petty things like making sure my queen feels my undying loyalty or upholding the status quo, and some other inconsequential bullshit. My queen, my classmates, and any other expectations people have for me can take a nose dive off of the highest cliff for all I care."

I joined because I knew without it, I wouldn't really care about continuing gymnastics and I like tumbling. And I might like these girls a little bit. The one club I joined that I love the most, which is a shock to some, is C4AC."

Although school had officially begun two days before, on Wednesday, September 7th, even today on Friday, the 9th, things still felt new. Students were only just beginning to pick up their new routines for the year, and adjust to having to wake up early every morning, rather than being permitted to sleep until noon like they could do on those summer days that they would reminisce about for the next eight or nine months. Although Elijah had been through this ritual for many years now, given that he had gone to Brentwood since kindergarten, and had started a new year on this specific Brentwood campus since sixth grade, he was no different from the majority students regarding that. It still felt wrong for him to be waking up at seven in the morning, rather than one in the afternoon, and to be pulling into the school's student parking lot, rather than the parking lot for the beach. For many obvious reasons, starting school again sucked, but it wasn't all bad in Eli's eyes. He had a lot of friends, and socializing was always an enjoyable thing for him. Plus, he was one of those students who never struggled in school, so he wasn't all that worried about the advanced courses he was taking this semester. He was only just beginning his third day of senior year, and he was already convinced that it was going to be a year that he could just cruise through, like he had done for the past three years of high school.

With Alessia in the passenger seat, Eli pulled into the student parking lot around 8:15 and hopped out of his BMW X5 M. "Listen, Ali. You heard Mom. Don't be getting your ass into any trouble today, all right? It's Friday and I know you and your little sophomore friends think you're gonna be able to party and shit this year, but that's not how it works. Only one of us can get away with that, and we both know that person is going to be me." He was half kidding, and purposely being obnoxious to get under her skin, really, though. Being obnoxious was one of Elijah's most well known talents, and if anyone had been subjected to it to know it proficiently, it was the girl who had lived in the same house as him for her entire life. As they approached the school's quad, that was already highly populated with students, Eli continued. "And you know what, if you keep yourself out of trouble, maybe, just maybe, I'll snag an invite for you and your weird little friends for Tim's party tomorrow," he offered, still purposely being annoying, as if he was doing her a huge favor. Though he knew that Alessia could just show up and get in, if she really wanted to, given that Timothy would never be an ass and reject her, he was sure that Ali was wanting, if not planning, on going. Timothy had a history of using his house as the unofficial "first party of the year" site, and this year, he was planning a "stoplight party". It was a party that was meant to physically demonstrate your relationship status, hence "breaking the ice" without actually having to do anything. If you wore green, it meant that you were available. Yellow symbolized something in between taken and available, as if it were a label for "it's complicated" (though Eli always took yellow as being equivalent to green), and red meant that you were unavailable. Although he knew that no matter what the theme was, things were always fun when Timothy was hosting, he was especially excited for this year's party, and as he and his sister entered the quad, he texted his fellow blonde friend saying, "On campus yet? Everything set for tm?"

It would probably surprise the handful of classmates who had issues with waking up early in the morning to be on time for school, but Natalia had never been much of a late-riser to begin with. As much as she loved lazy days where she could lounge about, particularly after a long week of exercise and cheer practice, the simple truth was that other than a possible cat-nap in between movies or shows, Natalia rarely slept in late. She just couldn't. So, it really wasn't any surprise that by the time her babushka had made sure Sebastian was awake and breakfast was being made, Natalia was just coming back from a run with Shuri, who acted more like a dog than a cat, but Nat couldn't really complain about that. The active feline was her best companion on running and was motivation enough to keep going. They had eaten breakfast, Nat had her second cup of YSWARA's Thousand Hills Majesty Tea, and then two were off on their own ways in the estate to get ready for the day. Knowing the cat, she was either going to see if the kitten was up for some fun since Bucky was energetic first thing in the morning, or was going out on the grounds to run around with whatever toys that were out and about.

By the time the large clock in the foyer read 7:25, Nat was making her way down the front staircase, sliding a headscarf she had stolen from Rhapsody into her hair, the heels of her Francesco Russo ankle boots click-clacking against the pietra-dura mosaic of the floor. "Bas, are you ready?" She called, sending out a quick text to both Katherine and Rhapsody before sliding the newly purchased Diamond Rose edition of her Iphone 7 Plus into the back pocket of her skinny jeans.

In contrast to Nat, the mornings were hard for Sebastian. Not because he slept in a lot, but because of Jamie. Sebastian had spent so many sleepless nights consoling Jamie during an episode that it seems that he’s never quite caught up on sleep. Lately, however, he’s been spending a few more nights at Nat’s and it seems as though his sleep is slowly getting better. This morning was one of those mornings where Sebastian can’t help but bury his face deep into a pillow and continue counting his sheep through heavy eye lids. Bas laid belly down on Natalia’s bed and nuzzled his head into a collection of pillows surrounding him. He stretched his arms out and reached for Natalia but she wasn’t there. He pulled his head away from the massive mountain of pillows Nat insisted on having on her bed and peered his eyes open to see an empty bedside. Bas pouted and rolled onto his back. He peeled away the crust from his eye lids and opened his eyes to see Nat’s grandmother walking into the room. She had probably been asked by Natalia to wake the boy up because otherwise, he would’ve just slept through the day. He smiled politely as she turned herself around and left. Sebastian jumped into the shower and quickly showered as he waited for Natalia’s return from wherever she had run off to so early in the morning. He had gotten ready quickly in a casual outfit and made his way downstairs. Natalia was waiting in the foyer, calling out for him. “Yeah, I’m coming. I’m coming.” He called back, as he trotted down the staircase, fastening his watch to his wrist.

Nat glanced at the nearest mirror, inspecting her own outfit minutely when she heard Bas arriving from behind her. Grabbing the keys and Dolce & Gabbana backpack she had left under the table closest to the front door, Nat turned at hearing his voice, lips slowly forming into a small smirk at the slightly tousled appearance of Sebastian's hair. It was enough that in these last few weeks, Nat was beginning to enjoy the appearance of a just waking up Sebastian a bit too much for a person who was supposed to be just a friend, but the temptation to touch his hair was a bit too much for her, particularly since she was in the comfort of her own home and had no real reason to stop herself from reaching over and at least attempting to tame the short spikes of soft brown hair. "We should probably get going. I'll actually feel just a touch insulted if Kat gets to school before me," she said lowly with a small smile, pulling away but not too far to head towards the door. "We taking your jeep?"

The smirk that spread across Natalia’s lips stimulated the same across Bas’s face. Sebastian loved the innocent parts of Natalia – the smiles that spread across her cheek when she’s thinking about him or the way she so innocently wants to touch him, feel him, just to know that he’s really right there. It puts butterflies in his stomach but he wouldn’t admit it. After all, they are just friends. As she turned from him, he frowned. There were parts of him that were okay with being just friends, but then there were parts of him that wake up in her bed in the morning and want nothing other than to snuggle into her and feel her warmth against his bare chest. There were parts of him, like now, that wanted to just kiss her and hold her. As she turned away from him, he grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back into his chest. He craned his neck to look down at her as she fit perfectly underneath him. “How about, we stay here and just spend the day in bed instead?” His lips pursed into a smile, and as her warm brown eyes looked back at him, he felt himself melting into her. Sure, they were just friends but there were moments like these where just friends didn’t do their label justice. Sebastian wrapped his arms around Natalia and held her tightly to him. “Kat’s only going to pull you away from me anyway. Might as well stay here where you can stay with me as long as you’d like.” Sebastian’s grin grew across his still sleepy face.

Nat wasn't shocked, per say, to feel the hand that wrapped itself around her wrist, but she wasn't exactly able to stop the barely discernible and surprised hitch of her breath when she was pulled back against Sebastian. The second their eyes met, though, she was doing something she rarely did - giggling and so much so that the laughter made tiny wrinkles form on her nose. Nat was used to chuckling, letting out a loose variant of laughing, or just flat-out laughing at her friends' antics or jokes. However, one of her newest capabilities in the last two years has become giggling and it's been mainly caused by Sebastian, a fact that steadily makes her want to duck away and hide. Regardless of how much she had cared about her exes, these feelings Sebastian was able to drudge up from within her - the fluttering in the pit of her stomach, an unnecessary desire to smile like an idiot just like she would tease Kat for, the entirely strange insurgence of random joy - were all still new, foreign. And absolutely terrifying.

"I'd love that," she admitted, biting her lower lip softly and reached up with her free hand to mess with the buttons of his Henley top, sighing. It was a tempting thought. Natalia could catch up pretty quickly in any class that she wanted to, always had been able to. She wouldn't be able to say she was perfect at everything since that was unrealistic, but she wasn't new to wanting to miss school and doing so. At the same time, it was still technically early (they literally had only started two days ago, after all) for her to be skipping. And then she'd have to do some explaining...which was the main and only reason she was convinced that she needed to sit through several hours of school when she was being given the chance to take all of these clothes back off, specifically when she was pretty sure she could get Bas to do the same. "However, Baba's not letting that happen any time soon and I'm a big girl, but even I'm not bold enough to face that stare down this early in the game." Or the sparring match Tatiana would more than likely propose since, if Nat could take the time to not go to school, she could surely entertain a sparring match to see what Tatiana's money had paid for. Which was just...no.

Sebastian groaned, rolling his neck dramatically. “Fine, I guess we can go.” He jokingly whined and Nat chuckled. Bas peered over both his shoulders, and then looked back at Nat. “Have to make sure your babu isn’t around before I do this,” Bas craned his neck further and leaned down, pressing his lips against hers and kissing her softly. Nat didn't even pretend to not sigh into it and almost took back her desire to leave the house, but refrained, pressing back gently but not fully deepening it like she wanted to. Eventually, Seb pulled away and smiled. “Not trying to get hit or anything,” He chuckled, making her roll her eyes, and pulled away to make his way towards the door. Sebastian opened the door to Nat’s house and waited for her to walk by and then followed her to his car, where he opened the passenger side door for her to get in. He followed her into the car and made their way to school.

By the time the two of them were parked in Sebastian's usual parking spot, Nat was only halfway regretting not choosing to brave Tatiana's abrasive yet motherly tendencies in favor of spending the day in bed with Sebastian. Even the fact that it wouldn't be long until she saw a few of her friends wasn't enough to dispel the lingering sense of longing for her pillows and the sounds of the ocean she can hear if all of the windows of her bedroom were open. The thought enough made her roll her eyes in displeasure at the sight of Brentwood, but a second later her usual blank expression had returned in lieu of the classmates who walked by or glanced at Sebastian's jeep.

"Oh, hey look," she exclaimed, though the actual serious excitement in her voice was lacking as she nodded in the direction of Eli's vehicle. Leave it to him to actually be on campus early this time in the semester. Nat gave him another three weeks or so, and he'd be running late due to the hangover he was bound to have from the night before or simply not feeling like getting out of bed. She turned back to Sebastian, knowing full on well his true feelings for the blonde, to add teasingly, "It's your boy, Eli. Need me to give you two a moment for your budding romance or nah?" The inquiry was spoken with a sly grin as Natalia scooped up her bag and phone so that she could avoid the shove that would, no doubt, come her way from Sebastian. Still with the grin on her face, Nat closed the passenger door and met Bas at the front of the jeep, chuckling at the expression on his face. "But seriously though, you're not allowed to skip tomorrow's party. It's your last first party of the year and I, for one, am not gonna be there laughing at everyone else getting drunk off their asses without you," she told him, wrapping an arm around his waist so that she could fit back under his arm like before.

Sebastian thought about all the nights spent with Natalia over the summer. His mind often goes back to the night when they first had sex, they solidified more than a friendship between the two of them. They’ve been pretty much living that part in secret but it hasn’t stopped the fire between them. It was never intentional but after a few drinks, everything seemed possible between the two. Their close friendship could’ve been in jeopardy had either of them been sober but for some reason, the alcohol helped soften the blow of the acts. Though how they came to be something a little more than friends isn’t exactly how either of them would’ve wanted, the very fact that they are an item – whether in secret or not – makes him happy. Sebastian would love to make something more of their relationship but he’s not too sure how Nat feels about it and he’s never been good at expressing these types of emotions so she has no clue how he really feels. They never really talk about it.

Now, Sebastian pulled into his usual parking spot and playfully rolled his eyes with Natalia’s comment about Eli. She knew very well how she felt about him but she loved taking soft jabs at her best friend. He smirked and got out of the car and met Nat in front of his jeep. Her arms wrapped around his waist and she fit herself against his chest, under his chin again. Sebastian pulled his hands from his pockets and wrapped them around the girl. Sebastian groaned – this time for real, and rolled his eyes before looking at the girl. “Fine, but I’m only going because you’ll be there to kill me if need be.” Nat didn't even bother to exclaim how dramatic he was being; just rolled her eyes. Out of the corner of his eye, Bas say Eli walking by and remembered the theme of the party. “Which reminds me…” Unsure of how to bring up the topic of color they should wear – considering the theme of the party was a ‘breaking the ice’ party where the attendee would wear, green, yellow, or red to signify their relationship status – he figured it’d be best to just not bother. “Are we carpooling to that or should I meet you there?” Sebastian thought that perhaps it's better to not stir the pot right now. The bell rang shortly after his question. Seb started to lean in for a kiss but realized where they were. His action made her tense, though Nat wasn't particularly moving to get away, Bas broke away and smiled at her innocently and apologetically. Leaving Nat to quell the disappointment that she kept from her face. “I’ll see you for lunch?” He asked her as he began making his way towards his class.

Nat watched him go with a frown, but not before seeing Kat walking with Tim and Kayleen. It made her pull her phone out to see the brunette's text, shake her head, before briskly walking to catch up. "Hey, Tim! Hey, kotenok!" She called and when she caught up, Nat gave Katherine a small smirk before turning to Kayleen, nodding gently, "Morning, Kayleen," she greeted before smirking at Tim. "Just missed Bas. Someone decided he wanted to be a good little student and get to class on time." And no, there was no trace of a pout on her face at all, if Nat had any control or say on it.

"Ugh, here she goes again talking about him," Katherine groaned, soon after they greeted Nat, her eyes moving between Kayleen and Timothy, complaining as if Natalia wasn't standing right there. It wasn't as if Nat had never heard the complaints before, anyway. Though she would never admit it, Katherine had a very frequent tendency of being jealous and territorial. In a way, it was flattering, because when she became territorial over people, it only meant that she cared about them and valued them over most people. At the same time, in cases like this, with Natalia, it's less-than-appealing side would rear its head, because Katherine would become territorial for selfish reasons. Sebastian Cole had never done anything to prove to her that he was an unfit boyfriend or friend or whatever the two wanted to claim to be, to Natalia, and yet she still refused to believe that he was good enough for her friend. She liked to believe that she just thought that Natalia was so amazing, that she was too precious to stoop down to the level of any of the guys that they had ever met, but in reality, Katherine didn't want Nat to become involved with anyone, out of fear that it would cut into the time that she could spend with her. As bratty as it sounded, Katherine liked having her friends "on call", and even though most were always busy enough to not be on call when she needed them all of the time, she knew that allowing them one more close relationship would only make them all the more unavailable to her. And so, without fail, Kat always liked to be dramatic and act like Nat did nothing other than talk about Sebastian, even if he rarely came up in conversation. "I'll fill you in, Kayleen, since you'll probably have to hear a lot about him this afternoon - he's this guy that's obsessed with Nat. Like, he's decent looking, or whatever, but he's really just not on her level, and I try to tell her that all of the time, but she refuses to listen," she said, now looking to Natalia, with a look that read, "isn't that right?".

"As you can see, my friends love making a good first impression," he said, smiling more rigidly than normally, as he looked to Kayleen who shook her head and smiled, as if she were making an attempt at dispelling the apologetic look on his face. "Who doesn't love some drama every now and then?" she said, before looking down at her phone, and reading the time. There was no rush to get inside, but she was still learning the layout of the school, and wanted to get to her locker before first period too, so it seemed reasonable to head inside now. "I'm going to head in. I have to stop at my locker and stuff before physics, but thanks for the ride, Tim. I'll see you guys later," she said, smiling at the girls at the last part, and then turning to head inside before waiting for their responses. Timothy only nodded at Kayleen's departure, but watched as she headed into the building, as if to make sure that she looked like she was headed in the right direction. He was distracted enough to have missed Natalia saying, "Kotenok, enough," accompanied by a stare that probably accounted for Katherine intertwining her fingers with his. The touch of her soft hand brought him back to reality, and he turned back to the girls. "Hopefully I'm allowed to talk about him, then," he said, rolling his eyes, but only being playful, as he gave Katherine's hand a gentle squeeze. "But really, I'm not surprised. That guy's got a good head on his shoulders. I always say that about Bas. He's got his priorities straight," he said, casually, yet thoughtfully, as if to reassure Natalia that no one other than Katherine believed what she had told Kayleen. Timothy didn't feel the need to protect Natalia or look out for her in any extreme aspect anyway, but e if he did, he would have felt comfortable with her and Bas being together. Timothy meant what he said, about believing that Sebastian was a good guy. "I'm starting to think that you want him for yourself, actually, Kat. I think you talk about him more than she does," he accused her, with a mockingly hurt tone.

"Um, absolutely false!" Katherine objected immediately, as she sent Timothy a glare for essentially taking Natalia's side. There was no need to feign offense for him believing that she wanted Bas, because Bas wasn't despicable enough, socially or physically, for her to act appalled at the accusation for. As stated, there was nothing wrong with him, so much as there was with her own personality. "I only talk about him when she talks about him, or when she decides to abandon me, for him, but fine, I won't say another word about him! Besides, we have better things to talk about! Like shopping today!" She squeezed Timothy's hand in excitement, though her eyes were focused on Natalia. While she enjoyed dragging Timothy with her to go shopping, because Kat was the kind of person who almost always liked having someone with her to socialize with, she definitely preferred her girlfriends for events like shopping. If she didn't want Kayleen to come, or if she thought to suggest it as a girl's trip, she wouldn't have even invited him to begin with. "We need to find you something nice and green, right?" she said. In her mind, that counted as putting talk about Sebastian to rest, even if she was indirectly hinting that Nat had no reason to wear anything other than green, dismissing their relationship. The "kitten" in Russian, that Nat had sent her way, a minute before, had her at least remaining indirect about it, though.

Come on princess, I don’t have all day

Rhys might as well have been leaning on the horn of her car for how long it went off. She had been waiting outside of the Atwood’s residence for almost 20 minutes now and her patience was starting to wear thin. Normally, it wouldn’t bother her that Lennox was taking his sweet ass time, but she wanted to get to campus fast to see all the fresh meat arriving. She loved gathering pictures of the kids on campus in their natural state of confusion and exhausting that she’d later use in the yearbook or for other school events. She simply loved catching people off guard in her photography. She darted her attention between her phone, Lennox’s front door, and the neighborhood to see which one would respond first. Would it be a text from her ill-communicated best friend, Lennox entirely ignoring his phone and simply walking out the front door, or one of Knox’s neighbor’s ready to complain about a car horn going off at 7 in the morning when they otherwise would’ve been sleeping until 9 because what do middle aged house wives have to do up so early anyway? Rhys held onto her horn again, this time she followed through with rhythmic beeps. It wasn’t until Lennox was opening up the passenger side door and sliding his way into the seat that she stopped. “Alright, alright already. I’m here. Cut it out before you wake up Mrs. Humburd. That lady is a pain in my ass.” Rhys smiled softly as she moved her car from park to reverse and left Lennox’s driveway. “Well, well. It’s nice of you to show up Mr. Atwood. I thought we’d be doing this without you today.” “We? What? Are you off your meds again?” Lennox slyly responded with a grin on his face but his eyes glued to the Instagram page on his phone. It only took a quick glare from Rhys for Lennox to actually doubt whether or not there was someone else in the car and forced him to peer over his shoulder to look at the back seat. Rhys smirked and drove off towards the school.

Pulling her car into the parking spot right next to Sebastian’s jeep, Lennox scoffed as he stepped out of the car. “Careful there Rhy, don’t want that peasant knocking a ding into the side of your car.” Lennox sounded annoyed and the boy wasn’t even around. Rhys tossed her backpack over her shoulder and slid the band making it tighter on her shoulder. “Why do you even hate him Lennox? What the hell did Sebastian ever do to you? He actually seems like a pretty cool guy.” Lennox rolled his eyes and didn’t bother to dignify her question with a response. Instead, Rhys locked arms with him as he shoved his hands deep into his pockets. From his walk towards the school, Lennox caught sight of Tim and Kat walking together. He dragged Rhys along as he slid in between the two, tossing his arms around the two and forcing Rhys to stand on the outskirts of the trio. “You beautiful people you, are we discussing pre-party plans for tomorrow? Because papa Atwood just updated the bar downstairs and I am ready to fuck shit up. Oh, and you guys know Rhys right?” Before any of the three could respond, Lennox was continuing, “Do we know anyone who will be in green that I could… move into yellow with? If you know what I mean?” He smirked, pleased with himself, even though the other three were more than probably grossed out by him. Rhys rolled her eyes and jokingly gagged, “And on that note, I will be going. It was nice seeing you guys.” Rhys kindly parted ways and walked to class. Meanwhile, Sebastian sat in class, responding to a text from Tim. Sebastian hadn’t wanted to think about it but he’d have to wear green. Green! All so no one would expect anything going on between him and Nat. He texted back that he had to go shopping for green because he didn’t know whether or not he owned any.

Natalia didn't let up on her stare in Katherine's direction until the latter pressed herself further into her boyfriend's side, clasping his hand gently. The move, though Nat was far from naive enough to believe that Katherine would fully drop the subject, was enough to allow Nat to avert her gaze for just a moment to take in the students filing on to campus. While unfounded, Kat's complaints against Sebastian weren't enough to have Nat ready to throttle the girl as she had them frequently enough for Nat to just grow used to drowning out the other girl's words out of disinterest. However, the school year had just started, Nat hadn't even really ever actually discussed her anything with Bas, and more importantly, Katherine was the one who spoke enough about any and everything for the both of them. Nat didn't even need to bring up Bas before the other girl decided to and while she did wind up smirking at Timothy's playful accusation that Kat might have had a thing for Bas (and no, that did not flare up any random bursts of possessiveness, nope not at all), Nat wore a patented unimpressed stare even when Kat decided to heed her earlier warning at being referred to in Russian in favor of changing the topic.

"Ummm, let's not forget that you asked me to come shopping with you, meaning you need something to wear," Nat replied. "I already have my bikini planned out." It hadn't taken her that long to figure it out either. The one thing Nat had accepted was that everyone was going to have something to say no matter what color she wore. Even if she decided to show up at the party with a color that didn't fit the theme, and she had been tempted to do so just to hear Eli's whining, it wouldn't matter because even that would be taken as a sign of something ridiculous such as her probably not choosing a color because she's purposefully trying to remain obtuse. It didn't matter what she wore, so when she found a pretty decent yellow number that looked exceptional against her skin, she had gone for it. Besides, the majority of the times that they went shopping, she was helping Kat or Gabby pick something out, and that was always more fun. She turned to Kat a slow, almost predatory grin at the thought while saying, "Besides, we've gotta find you a sexy red bikini to turn Tim's head. Maybe you'll be able to put on a little strip tease, kotenok." Except the kotenok was spoken on a purr that promised just a touch of retribution for Kat's little miniature rant and Natalia's smirk grew just to further the belief for the other girl.

By the time Lennox and his friend, Rhys, (it was more Lennox, than Rhys, but you attract those who are similar to you to some capacity, so Nat would leave it at that) caught up with them, the trio were much closer to the main school building and Nat was only slightly curious about Giovanni not having texted her yet or even run up on her before she entered the main entrance. He usually came to her first thing before classes, still slightly hungover and in need of whatever snacks Nat had packed away in her backpack for the day. Then again, he had sounded completely wasted when he had called her upon returning home (and yes, Gio actually did follow instructions when given by someone who had no problem with causing him pain). So, she wouldn't necessarily be surprised if he decided to simply stay home and sleep off whatever it was that was in his system. But she would have rather had him bug her than Lennox because between the two of them, she liked one and Lennox wasn't the one she liked. And if he couldn't tell from all the interactions they'd had before, she made sure he knew it in the blank yet somehow still unimpressed stare she gave the second he began talking. "Funny that you should mention discussions considering that this one was a three-way and didn't include you," she deadpanned, staring straight ahead as the words fell from her lips. Nat didn't care to pretend to like him as others who fed Lennox's ego did. She didn't acknowledge him as a real Royal as he obstinately failed to possess any of their tact and considering the fact that she barely acknowledged him as a fellow classmate considering how spectacularly crass and unattractive his personality truly was, she didn't feel the need to make him feel welcomed. She wasn't bitchy by nature, that much was certain, but Nat did cold and dismissive well. She just wished he'd take the hint already.

If nothing else, Elijah wanted it to be known that had he not been such a quick-witted kid, he never would have taught his sister to be, either. That was what he told himself, to satisfy the unfulfilled need to get the last word in their conversation before she scurried off, at least. That thought process was enough for him to convince himself that he had won their little bickering session, since he felt like he had taught her how to bicker in the first place. Call it petty, and that was what it was, but Elijah was petty and competitive, and it showed. He read Timothy's text message, and began to type back, before becoming sidetracked by a group of junior preps who started talking to him. By the time the conversation ended, he saw Timothy and some other friends already heading towards the school building, and he turned away to catch up with them.

"Did I just hear that you're down for a three-way, Nat? Count me in. The only question is, who's going to be our number three, now that you're telling Lennox he's not included?" Elijah said, making his entrance in a way that was oh so typical of him. He sported a smirk, his eyes glistening with interest, as he caught up with them. Had Timothy not been standing right there, he may have been bold enough to assume, aloud, that Katherine was going to be the perfect third member of their little under-the-covers trio, but he had enough respect to leave that fantasy in his mind. Katherine was definitely on his radar, but he was pushing her to the back of his mind for now, given that she was taken, and only because she was taken by his best friend. It it was any other guy, he still would have been all over her. "You know, making a claim like that may just have me ready to trade in my green for yellow tomorrow night, Nat. You need to realize the power of your words before you go making statements like that." Rhys had walked off right before Elijah had made his way over to the small group of friends that were slowly making their way towards the school building, so now, Elijah was left only with Natalia, Lennox, Katherine and Timothy. Though it was very clear that they didn't all get along, Elijah happened to get along with all of them, and he would gloat at that, and remind anyone who wanted to know, that he was very charming and likable, thank you very much. Anyone who thought otherwise, was definitely someone who had tried to hop on his dick but hadn't met his standards. "And if she doesn't want you in hers, I'm sure you and Tim are always down fora good old ménage à trois, right, Kat? Got any room for Lennox in that bed of yours?"

Their quad had turned into a trip when Kayleen left, but had gained two new members when Lennox and Rhys approached. Rhys' departure was followed by Elijah's entrance, and though it certainly wasn't a feeling that was consistent among the new group, Timothy was glad to see his friends. Eli was one of the closest friendships that Timothy had ever maintained for his entire youth, and Knox was someone that he got along with as well. He didn't mind his presence at all, even with his arm slung over his shoulder, but Natalia was quick to express that she didn't want him there. Before he could focus on that though, he decided to address Elijah, whose comments were likely going to affect him more personally. Katherine wasn't someone who looked like she possessed much strength, but Timothy was sure that if she was in the right mood when Elijah poked and prodded like that, that he could end up with a few broken fingers, considering that her hand was still clasping his.

"I think that I can speak for the both of us when I say that Knox isn't really our type," Tim said, a playful smirk on his face, before turning his head to look at Knox, who was still at his side, and flashing him a more apologetic look, though it was still meant light-heartedly. "Sorry, man, but I guess it's obvious that you can count me out for the pre-party. Gotta get my place ready, but I'm sure there will be a lot of green by the time you get there. What about Rhys? Too close to home to ever be green in your eyes?" he inquired, noting that the girl had walked off a minute or so before. Timothy wasn't personally close with Rhys, and really only knew her through association, but he was aware of how frequently Lennox could be seen with the girl. He suspected that they were platonic, and like he said, had some relationship that made a real relationship seem off limits, but it was only now that he was actually asking Lennox about it. While he was curious to some degree, he also felt like turning the conversation to something that would put Lennox in more of the spotlight would be better. Elijah and Lennox both had a personality where they enjoyed being assholes, basically. They liked to be obnoxious and cocky, regardless of how uncomfortable it made anyone else feel, and while Timothy did find it to be amusing, and was actually rarely bothered by it himself, he knew that others weren't always so thick-skinned. Natalia had made it very clear on multiple occasions, and again today, that she wasn't in the mood for Knox, and Timothy doubted that Katherine was appreciating what was coming out of Elijah's mouth either.

"Hey, Knox," Katherine greeted, only surprised for a second by the sudden physical presence of him at her side. Her voice was much perkier and reflecting of her happiness at seeing him, than Natalia's was. That wasn't something that shocked Katherine, though, as she was well aware of how Natalia wasn't Lennox's biggest fan. Kat understood where Natalia was coming from, to an extent, but she was never as bothered by Lennox's cockier side. In Katherine's opinion, she had seen far worse, but maybe that was also because she had seen his kinder, more down to earth and friendly side, too. He was much easier to like when you knew that he wasn't an ass twenty-four-seven. Elijah was a little less welcomed in her opinion, but she wasn't capable of being outright rude to him, given that they weren't enemies, and Timothy had taken the initiative to respond to Elijah's questions about their sex life, before she had to do so directly. "I don't think I could have a threesome with two guys. Like, I think I would want one of them to be a girl, right?" she said, looking to Nat only, as if another female's opinion would be the only one that really counted, and following Timothy's lead in trying to dispel the tension, because she didn't want Nat to run off. Katherine wasn't an overtly sexual person to begin with, and she definitely wasn't interested in having a threesome to begin with, but the proposal made her ponder the subject more than she had in the past. However, she was aware that she was asking Natalia, someone who was far more comfortable with her own sexuality. "But I don't think I would want my boyfriend touching another girl either, so how is that even supposed to work?" Although she was very tempted, she held her tongue against pointing out that if Nat were to have a threesome with Sebastian, Katherine would bet a million dollars that he would want the third person to be another guy, because he just seemed to swing "that way", as if it would be one more reason for why Natalia shouldn't want anything to do with him. Katherine was ignorant, and that mere thought reflected it, but she wasn't completely idiotic, and knew no that she needed to back off, even just a little, from pressing Natalia on the Sebastian subject for a little while. "And Kayleen's definitely going to be wearing green tomorrow, right, Tim?! Knox, she should totally be on your radar, but not if you're going to be mean to her. She's totally going to be one of my new best friends within the next week, and I will not stand for you breaking her heart!" Katherine exclaimed with a mixture of excitement and dramatics, at the thought of how she was convinced that she could get Kayleen to magically go from seeming indifferent towards her, to loving her in the next few days.

As the boys began to chat, Kat released her grip on Timothy's hand and squirmed out from under the arm that Lennox had over her shoulder, in favor of linking arms with Natalia. Again, it was partly an attempt to make sure that Nat didn't think she could run off before classes started to go catch up with Bas again, but also, partly because she just preferred her friend's presence over being in the middle of guy talk. "And FYI, I plan on getting drunk enough tomorrow that that strip tease might actually be a reality," she said, playfully matter-of-factly, since she knew that Natalia had suggested it as retribution for her pressing the Sebastian topic. As her locker was located near Nat's, Katherine found it appropriate to pull the girl a few paces ahead of the boys, since they would end up going in different directions anyway. "But speaking of pre-parties, what are we doing? You're either coming to Lennox's house, and crashing that, or I'm coming to your house. Girls only, in that scenario," she said, knowing that Natalia would know just who she was purposely excluding, before piping up, "Unless Gabby wants us to come to her house."

Thank God it's Friday!"

Location: The Brentwood School
Outfit: x
Mood: Motivated
It was Friday. Finally. That "finally" was thought with less emphasis than it would in two or three weeks from now, given that this was the first Friday of the school year, and the week had only consisted of Wednesday through Friday this week, but still, Gabby was no different than any of her peers in that weekly countdown to the last day of the school week. Her outfit today was casual, but it was Friday after all, and Gabrielle had always treated Friday's as dress-down days. Besides, overall, she didn't treat school as a runway. One would imagine that as the Queen Bee, she would always be trying to one-up people and look like she had just stepped out of a fashion show, but that wasn't what Gabrielle was about. She did like looking nice, and yes, she certainly dressed better than most of her peers, but a lot of her appeal came from being effortless. She didn't like to try hard, because she felt like that in itself was tacky and defeated the purpose of it all. Her focus was on herself. If she thought that she looked good and would be comfortable for the day, than that was her top priority. It helped, though, that she didn't own many clothes that would be seen as raggedy or too casual to begin with, so "dressing down" was all relative to her typical style.

Her morning routine was nothing special, and though her mother and stepfather were both already on their way to work by the time that she finished getting ready, and headed into the kitchen for breakfast, the emptiness of the house didn't feel overwhelmingly unwelcoming. On one hand, Gabrielle was still getting used to the move into this new house, to accommodate her mother's new marriage to Sergey, but at the same time, she couldn't be so dramatic as to paint the scene as her being some emotionally neglected girl, forced to fend for herself. She actually preferred not having to socialize with either of them in the morning, mostly because even though she had already been awake for an hour or so, she was still pretty irritable after being forced out of sleep by her alarm. Her mother had left her a fruit smoothie in the fridge, and along with a granola bar that sat on a note reading, "Happy Friday! Have a good day ! ♡ Mom", she was set for breakfast. It took her only a few minutes to finish eating and head out to school, and luckily, living only four miles away meant that even with morning traffic, it only took her around fifteen minutes before her Range Rover was parked in the student lot.

She had a good amount of text messages waiting for her by the time she was out of her car, but she didn't have time to even open them, before a familiar BMW pulled up beside her, and out stepped fellow senior Royal, Yvette. "Hey babe!" the brunette greeted her with, a bright smile on her face as the two began to walk towards school. "Perfect timing, huh? If I wasn't all the way in Thousand Oaks, I would say we should totally carpool." Gabby shook her head, smiling still, though, only to signal that it was no big deal. "It's no biggie. You know I like having my car on campus anyway. It makes it easier to get out of here once the day's over, which, I'll admit, I'm already counting down the minutes for." Normally, Gabby didn't mind school, but today, she was feeling more antsy for the weekend to come. She didn't even have any spectacular plans, other than Timothy's party tomorrow night, but she was simply still functioning in summer-mode, and it was proving to be a struggle for her to switch back into her school mentality this week. "Hey, I'm right there with ya, sister!" Yvette exclaimed, an exasperated sigh following it. "I cannot believe that we already have an English paper due on Wednesday. Like, can they not give us one weekend off before sending us into the fiery pits of stress-hell?" Gabrielle laughed at the girl's dramatic antics, especially when her gaze shifted from her phone, once she finished reading her text messages, and looked to Yvette to find that she too had been distracted, but not by her phone. The makeup guru was busy herself, applying more lip gloss and checking herself out in her compact mirror, a move that seemed to be Yvette's signature thing. She didn't miss this - the socializing and friends - part about school, that was something she could say, at least. "Ooooh, there's John!" The girl nearly squealed when she finally put her makeup back into her purse. "Okay, okay, how do I look? I told you about how he's been hitting me up nonstop all week, right? I've got that boy right where I want him, Gabs. Let me go work my magic and you can bet that by the time I'm done, this boy's going to be showing up to Cargill's party wearing firetruck red!" Gabby could only shake her head and stifle the laughter that always seemed to come when she was talking to the always-animated Yvette, before the girl hurried off in the boy's direction.

Gabby was left alone, but only for a minute, for as she continued walking up towards the school building, she came across more of the A-listers that she frequently associated with. Though they were somewhat separated into two groups by the time that she caught up to them, the group had at least originally seemed to consist of Elijah, Timothy, Lennox, Natalia, and Katherine. "Good morning, boys," she said, only in passing, though she allowed herself enough time beside them to give Timothy a gentle squeeze to his shoulder, as an additional greeting for him. The way that it could have been even categorized as a caressing motion definitely meant that it was unnecessary, especially when considering that Katherine was only a few feet away, and was her friend, but Gabrielle wasn't necessarily trying to be flirtatious. If anything, it came from a subconscious level of territorial-ness that she felt around people. Now that she was freshly single, it certainly did irk her, even just a little bit, that the boy that everyone constantly thought she was dating, was now officially dating someone else. It was that FOMO in her head, telling her that Katherine had "stolen" Tim from her, despite Gabby knowing very well that she never did, and to this day, still did not, have any romantic feelings for him. She didn't allow her hand to linger for more than a second or two, though, before moving past the boys and catching up with the two junior girls. "My babies!" she exclaimed, somewhat teasingly, as she walked with them. "I just got your text, Kitty, but I think that I can fit some shopping in tonight. Are you coming, Nat, or is cheerleading already taking over your life again?"

"Awwww, babe, I do know the power of my own words," Nat said after smirking, turning just slightly to full on stare at Eli teasingly. "You're already here and willing, from what I can see." Elijah came as a welcome distraction. While it was easy for Nat to ignore anyone and even pretend as if they didn't exist, on a surface level, a physical distraction actually helped better. She didn't care that the others got along with him in their own little ways. At the end of the day, she didn't and while she didn't expect for anyone to cater to her, she also didn't have time to pretend just because everyone else was all kumbaya and whatnot. Besides, Nat could genuinely say that she liked Elijah. While she wasn't fooled into thinking he was the greatest thing since ice cream, he had...just a touch of grace left in him, though she'd never tell him that to his face considering how much his ego was already the size of the globe. She wasn't adding to that mass any time soon. She didn't, however, hesitate in letting Katherine pull her just shy from being too close to the boys so that they could be ahead as the group began to migrate towards the school building.

"Really, Kat, ultimatums?" Natalia had to inquire, not particularly in disbelief as it would be something that Kat did when she felt like Nat was willing to abandon her. Which she wasn't. She had - kinda - already agreed to going shopping; somebody had to make sure Kat didn't have a fit in the middle of the mall because she wasn't liking the way some of the bikinis fit her. Nat snorted at the thought, though she wouldn't be surprised if Kat took it as a negative towards the idea of going to Knox's place. Which wasn't happening. Natalia would flat-out abandon her friend, invite Rhapsody and Anastasia to her place only, and have a girls' pre-party spectacular just to have something to taunt Katherine with via social media. And everyone knew that between the two of them, Nat wasn't even the most active on any of her social media accounts. "My alcohol is better," she said decidedly, only slightly petulantly. It helped that she didn't like everyone's typical vodka brands considering they were weak and that she could make the sweet drinks Kat liked, and even that Tatiana would be going out to Russia for the weekend for some dinner tomorrow.

What probably shouldn't have happened was Nat glancing backwards for a moment, not because she was trying to spy on the boys behind them, but because she was genuinely curious if Gio was going to make it to school. While she had already questioned the state of both his sobriety and inebriation, he was an asshole. He could surprise her and his teachers by obstinately refusing not to skip, show up in shades to hide how red his eyes may or may not be, and just be crass and even more intolerable than he typically is. Just as she decided that she was going to text him the second she got to class, Gabrielle had caught her gaze's focus and while Nat did nothing more than turn around when she noticed the girl interact with the boys, a slight nod was the only indication she gave to having seen anything...out of sorts with her particular brand of greeting. A greeting she was pretty sure Kat hadn't even taken notice of by the time the blonde caught up to them.

"Yeah, I'll come. Somebody's gotta make sure kotenok here doesn't max out her card over bikinis," she joked easily at Gabby's question. "I'll make pre-game drinks and snacks at my place for us. Make it a girl's thing. I'll invite Ari before the day is out to see if she wants to come. We can all get ready there and take my Panamera."

Ari had arrived to school earlier than necessary today, but it was not any earlier than she usually got there. She tended to get to school a little bit earlier than most of her peers. Unlike the other kids who were typically there at that time, it wasn't because she took a bus or something, that dropped her off at that set time and she had no choice in the matter. Arizona actually purposely got to school a little bit early every day, because she liked having that breathing room to get herself prepared before the day actually begun. Oftentimes, she would go into school, get herself situated, and then actually head back out into the front of the school where most of her friends hung out before they finally went in to get ready. It wasn't like she was showing up two hours before classes begun, but even just coming twenty minutes before most people was a good reflection of Ari's character. She liked planning ahead of time, being organized, and giving herself that extra time in case something did go wrong. Additionally, it was just one more piece of evidence as to how she did try to be a good student. Even though her grades rarely reflected it, Ari put school before most of her other priorities in life, and she did try as hard as possible to do as well as she could in her classes.

She didn't like carrying her backpack around all day, so she left that in her locker, along with the majority of her books and school supplies. This year, she was lucky to have a pretty good schedule, with classes shared with many of her friends. In an obvious way, that was something that she appreciated, but at the same time, sharing classes with friends meant more distractions, and that was the last thing that Ari needed. What she needed was to do well this year, so that her GPA could finally start rising instead of falling. Unless you had Bill Gates level money, money wasn't even enough to buy yourself a spot in Ivy League schools, and although Arizona had come to terms that she wouldn't end up in any of those, her aunt and uncle were still pushing her to end up at a prestigious school that she most certainly wouldn't have the GPA or standardized testing scores to get into easily. She wasn't going to give up just yet, though, and so it was definitely going to take an extra ounce of self-control this year, with her schedule as it was, to remain focused on her school work, over socializing, while she was at school. That thought was the reason for why Ari didn't head out to the quad in front of school once she was finished getting her books in order for the day. Instead, she walked to her chemistry class and sat down in the seat that she had already claimed as hers for the year, which was located in the front row, nearest to the window. The window would probably end up being a distraction to her and she knew that, but she gave herself enough credit for purposely choosing a front row seat to allow herself to get away with that.

Although Ari wanted to text Katherine and tell her that she better not be late for class today, even though there was still plenty of time before class actually begun, she didn't search for the girl's name in her text message inbox when she looked through her phone idly. She was tempted, but she didn't want Kat sitting next to her in chemistry for more than one reason. The one that she was most willing to admit, was that Kat was the last person you wanted next to you if you wanted to learn something. In the middle of a lecture, she would be the person whispering to you, despite the teacher's glares, about some irrelevant story that you could barely follow. If it wasn't that, she would be elbowing you to ask if you had any gum on you, or elbowing you to offer you a piece of her own, or daydreaming herself and then asking you a million questions about something that was just clearly discussed. She and Ari were both similar in that they struggled with school, but the difference with Ari, was that she tried to be a good student. Katherine didn't, and although they were close friends, when it came to school, and especially in classes like chemistry, where Arizona was destined to struggle, she had to push that friendship to the back burner, and pray that anyone other than Kat sat next to her. As she tried to remember the class roster from the past two days, she decided that she easily would have preferred Laylah, Lennox, Oleander... or really any other student in the class, who wasn't going to distract her, to sit next to her.

Besides Katherine distracting her in that physical and obvious way, of her actually doing something disruptive, Ari had also been thrown off by Katherine, lately, for a reason she had only admitted to Natalia, who also happened to be the person that Ari decided to text, as she sat in the empty chemistry room. The text message read, "So, remember what I told you a while ago? Like, about my "issue", and how I said I was going to knock whatever that was out of my system by the time school started again because it's absolutely bizarre? Idk why, but it's still in me and I need to get over it somehow. Help!!!", and was reflective of the other reason for why Ari felt weird being around Katherine lately. Some time during last winter, she had unexpectedly (and in her opinion, unnecessarily) developed some sort of crush on Kat, one of her closest friends. By now, Ari could admit to herself that she was bisexual, but she couldn't admit it aloud, really, and having an inexplicable crush on a close friend only made her feel more conflicted about coming to terms with her sexuality. That was why, for her, it made sense to ignore the problem, by steering clear of the girl who was the source of the problem. If that meant that she had to be a little antisocial, than so be it. It only gave her more time to make sure that she had a spare pen in her purse in case the one that sat ready and waiting on her desk happened to run out of ink during today's lesson.

Lennox XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Rhys XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSebastian

There was nothing that annoyed Lennox more than Natalia. Of course, this probably wasn’t true and he could probably create a list of things that annoyed him more than her, but she certainly took top 5, at the very least. Natalia’s blatant disregard for Lennox only pushed him to push her more. He enjoyed pushing her buttons and setting her off because other than that, there’s not much Lennox can do to piss her off since she really could not care less about the boy. “Listen, even if there was a ménage à trois going on here, figuratively or literally, the last thing I’d want is to be part of it,” Lennox said pushing off of Elijah’s comment about a threesome. Elijah also liked pushing Natalia’s buttons, only difference was she liked Elijah and not Lennox so between them, it was friendly banter. Between Lennox and Natalia, it was a fire-fueled rage. Lennox continued to push off of Elijah’s commentary, “Kat will always have room for me in her bed, the problem is Timmy over here takes it all up.” Tim and Lennox were friends, Lennox and Kat were best friends. She saw things in him that most others didn’t, so the jokes he made were all in good fun and were not be taken seriously. With Tim’s decline of the pre-party invite from Tim, he frowned slightly. He wanted to figure out plans but didn’t want to do anything alone. Lennox hated being alone, which was probably where his need to be constantly annoying someone was rooted. When mention of Kayleen fell upon Knox’s ears, he tensed. His hands withdrew into his pockets and he could feel his cheeks warming up. “Oh right, Kayleen will be there.” Knox fought to hold his lips from forming a silly smile but he almost couldn’t help himself. He smirked slightly and tried to play off his crush on the girl. “I guess I could give her the time of day. And I wouldn’t break her heart, I’m a sweetheart, Kat.” Sarcasm was Lennox’s second language, it came to him naturally and as much of a dick as he seemed, Kayleen was different to Lennox. He actually had feelings for her which was weird for him, which is why he felt embarrassed by the mention of the girl. Nat and Kat walked ahead the boys a few steps and Lennox knew this would be the best opportunity for him to discuss women. “She’s your sister, Tim,” Lennox said, in regards to Kayleen. “I know you guys have a weird hate thing going on, but if she’s off limits, let me know and I’ll steer clear, but she is cute and I’d like to talk her up, yanno?”

While Lennox stuck around teasing his friends and being teased by not his friends, Rhys was making her way through the halls of Brentwood. She knew the bell would ring soon and as much as she wanted to stick around and talk to people, she had a thing about being late. She hated not being punctual and was the type of person to be early to being early. Around Rhys’ neck was a Canon EOS 5Ds that she had gotten as a gift from her father earlier this year; a gift he bought her because he felt guilty for not being around often. Rhys understood he was a military man and therefore, wouldn’t be around often and she never did anything to guilt him into gifting her, but he did anyway – and Rhys wasn’t going to deny the upgrade from an old Nikon she had. She looked through the camera roll, through the pictures she had taken throughout the week. Pictures of students doing work in the library, sitting in the courtyard at lunch, students laughing with each other, falling in love with each other, meeting each other for the first time; pictures that told stories and pictures that had no meaning. They made her smile, even though there was little to be told from them and it was up to her to create a story, they made her happy still. Rhys walked through the halls, smiling down at her camera. “You know, usually when you smile at a camera, you’re supposed to be on the other side of it.” Rhys looked up to see Sebastian walking alongside her. She smiled and mockingly laughed, “Ha. Ha. Very funny. I’m just looking through the pictures I took,” she said, as though it’d make him understand her happiness. He smiled and nodded. “You going to Eli’s party?” Sebastian and Rhys weren’t too close, but he felt the need to make conversation with someone other than Natalia and the guys. If it weren’t for lacrosse, Natalia, or Laylah, Sebastian didn’t have many friends. He felt it important to make friends outside of that small circle as they all knew each other anyway. He knew Rhys enough to know that she’s accepting of many, and Sebastian thought himself nice enough to be able to befriend people like Rhys. “Yeah…” She paused, unsure still of her plans. “I don’t know yet. I tend to stay away from the A-list crowd... They can be a little… raunchy at times and I don’t always fit in with them.” Sebastian nodded again. He understood exactly what it was like to be a part of a crowd that he didn’t always feel as though he fit into. “Makes sense. Well, if you decide to go, I’ll be there. We can not fit in together. I’ve got to go this way to class, but I’ll see you around.” Sebastian smiled at her, tapped her lightly on the arm and walked off before Rhys could say anything. She wanted to so badly question what he meant by ‘not fit in together,’ all this time, Rhys could’ve sworn Sebastian was happy to be an A-lister and thought he fit in perfectly with the wealthy. It made her curious about him. As she watched him go, she noticed Ari sitting in a room, presumably waiting for class to start but there was no one in there with her. The girl’s heart fluttered slightly; Rhys had a crush on Ari but Rhys wasn’t sure the girl felt the same way. She raised her camera to her eye, closing one and placing the other on the lip of the viewing hole, she zoomed into the girl, who sat smiling at her phone, and snapped the picture. There was a part of her that felt weird for taking the picture, but another part of her created excuses in her head. It’s for the yearbook. It’s a candid, they’re not supposed to know. It’s a natural beauty project. As Rhys battled her inner demons, Sebastian did the same as he walked to his first class. His phone buzzed in his pocket, he pulled it out to see a text from Laylah. He let out a deep breath and rubbed his hand through his hair before sending a text back.

To: Laylah
Same Lay.. I need advice… Meet me before next class by my locker.. I need help. I’ll help you if you help me :)

Katherine had only perked up even more when Gabrielle joined them. Although the girl was a grade above she and Nat, and frequently seemed to have female senior Royal friends to hang out with, Kat considered her to be a close friend. Gabby was good about making time for any Royal who she deemed a friend, and Katherine found her to be a lot of fun, so her presence was nothing but welcomed. "There's like a one percent chance that I'm actually wearing a bathing suit tomorrow. I'm not in the showy-mood lately, and I'm definitely not going to want to go in the water," she rationed. The reasons were honest, and she wasn't even trying to avoid admitting that she wasn't in a mindset where she wanted to be wearing something skimpy. Katherine certainly was still battling some unnecessary body image and weight issues, and the idea of wearing a bathing suit in public, especially when she wasn't planning on being in the water for the majority of the time, did still bother her. She was far better with it today than she was a few years ago, when it was a legitimate struggle for her to even do that in front of just a few friends, lounging around the pool on her own property, but the struggles still existed. However, in her defense, while that played a role in part of why she didn't want to wear a bikini tomorrow, she also just felt like wearing actual clothes would be easier for the night. She would feel more comfortable, mentally and physically, she justified, and though she would still be adamant about shopping tonight to look for more options, she did already have a red option waiting for her in her closet, should she not find anything at a store. "AKA, she's coming because she loves me and would never want to lose me as a friend, and would always choose me over any silly, little boy," she said, masking her voice with the best innocent cover she could muster up, as if she was simply stating the truth, and still not being territorial over her. "And because I have to make sure that the two of you pick out the nicest green outfits I can find." With Gabrielle being freshly single, and Katherine wanting to do everything in her power to make sure that Natalia remained single, she knew that she would have more fun, making it her mission to find them outfits, over searching for one for herself.

"I see Ari in chem, so I'll ask her too, but who knows if she'll even answer me. I swear, she literally takes every class so seriously, and it's only the first week of school. I asked her for an extra pen yesterday, and oh my God, you would have thought that I interrupted her while she was saying her wedding vows or something, with the glare that I got." Of course, Katherine was being dramatic, but she was being serious in her opinion, at least, of how Arizona overreacted. Katherine had come to terms with not being book smart, and maybe that played a role in it, too. She was the kind of person who could probably manage B's in her classes if she put in the effort, but she didn't, so she was used to just barely passing her classes. Because of that, she didn't understand why other people cared so much, especially someone like Ari, who school seemed equally hopeless to. What was the use in studying like a nerd, and acting so serious about school, like a nerd, if you were never going to get the grades to give you any payoff? Clearly, Kat didn't see any, and that was why it baffled her as to why Ari took offense to her interrupting her train of thought during their harder classes to ask for silly things like an extra pen or a piece of gum.

Natalia, Timothy, Katherine and Lennox's responses all had ELijah smirking, but he didn't object to the two girls separating themselves, considering that it gave the boy's a little space to talk about things that the girls who have deemed "disrespectful" or something like that, that would have only made Eli roll his eyes. He waited until after saying hello to Gabby, who passed by them to catch up to the girls after only a second, before addressing what had just come out of Knox's mouth. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," he objected, after Knox spoke, raising his hands as if to say "slow down there". "Hold on, just a minute, Knox. I automatically assumed that we were going with the bro code, that sisters are always off limits, but if Kayleen's fair game for you, then she's gonna be fair game for me too. I mean, if we wanna be technical here, I've known about her the longest, so..." He allowed his sentence to trail off there, though his eyes looked towards Timothy, as if to ask for his agreement on the matter. In reality, Elijah had known of Kayleen's existence for a few years, but it wasn't like he had ever actually known her, to give him some sort of seniority standing to woo her, over Lennox, as if something like that even existed. Besides, considering that there was a part of Elijah that still told him that Katherine, Timothy's girlfriend, was fair game, it wasn't hard to imagine that if Eli was drunk enough, Kayleen would look like she was wearing green to him no matter what she was really wearing, and no matter what Timothy thought of it. He knew it was wrong, and that was why the sober Elijah hadn't considered going for Kayleen until now, when Lennox was the one being direct enough to ask Timothy if he would feel weird about it.

If the answer was that Timothy didn't care, and that Lennox was right that he disliked his half-sister more than he cared about her, than Eli would be adamant in at least challenging Knox to see which of them could talk the blonde's pants off the quickest. If the answer was that Timothy would feel weird, and would prefer that neither of them make an attempt with Kayleen, than Eli could still feel superior in being able to gloat about being the true good friend, given that he could have asked about Kayleen long ago, but knew better. Now that he was really thinking about it, though, he couldn't see why Tim would care. He barely knew Kayleen more than any of them did, so he couldn't imagine Timothy seeing it as being even remotely comparable to them trying to get with Michaela, his "real" sister. She was just a girl who happened to share a father with him, who he had only lived with for two days. Now, convincing him that Tim was bound to say that they could go for her, Eli talked himself up into believing that if anyone should "welcome" her to California, it should get to be him. Most of the time, he was completely content with embracing how much of a player he was, but now that it would work to his benefit in believing otherwise, he decided that out of the two of them, he was the one who was less likely to break Kayleen's heart over Lennox. He wouldn't want to date her, or be anything with her beyond physical, but he was sure that he could find a way to do it in a way that would make him seem like a gentleman, unlike Lennox.

"Thank God it's Friday!"

Location: The Brentwood School

"Ari being uptight? Wow, real shocker, Kat," Gabrielle said, clearly sarcastically, as she rolled her eyes, though the eye roll was directed more so at Ari than it was as Kat. "We really have to loosen that girl up. I mean, don't get me wrong - I love her and everything, but I'll never forgive myself if I leave this year and she's still as by-the-books as she is now." Gabrielle, and Katherine too, were clearly oblivious that Ari was more unpredictable than they would have imagined, but they couldn't be blamed for not knowing that at one point, Ari and Natalia had actually made out. Given Ari's personality, it was the last thing that anyone would have guessed, partly because Gabby just assumed that Ari was straight, and also because she wasn't the kind of girl who seemed to do random hookups. Plus, Gabby would have thought that given that it happened between two of the girls in her own clique, she would have heard about it, so really, it wasn't surprising that she still believed Ari to be the same "likes to plan for everything" girl she always thought of her as. It didn't mean that Gabby didn't like Ari, because she definitely did. She knew that Ari was more fun than they teasingly gave her credit for, and considered the girl to be a friend regardless of how much she liked to tease her.

"I'll wear a bikini with you, even if Little Miss Conservative over here, doesn't want to," Gabby said to Natalia. Part of Gabby knew that she should push Katherine in the issue, and sometimes, when things like this came up, she did. She wasn't as privy to the extensiveness of Katherine's body image issues as Natalia was, given that the girls knew each other for years longer than Gabby knew them, but she was close enough to Katherine to know that it was something that the girl struggled with. The good friend in Gabby would often gently insist that a girl with as flawless as a figure as Katherine's simply had to flaunt it, but there was the more selfish side to Gabby that liked to just shrug her shoulders sometimes, when it seemed like a losing battle. Katherine would likely be stubborn about this, and as bad as it was, Gabby didn't care to be that good friend in the moment. She had her own things to worry about, like what she was going to wear tomorrow.

This was the first event she was going to since her split up with her boyfriend, and though he was away at college now and wouldn't be there anyway, she still felt like it was significant. A few weeks ago, she thought she would be wearing red, and now suddenly, she had to go in green, and the wounds regarding that were still fresh to her. Fresh enough, too, that she looked over her shoulder for a second, as the girls entered the school building, to make sure that Timothy and the boys (but mostly, Timothy) were still close enough. Additionally, that thought was what led her to follow up her first comment with, "But I feel like the three of us should wear green, really. Or Kat, you should at least wear yellow. I mean, I know that you and Tim are a "couple", or whatever little title you guys want to give it for now, but I feel like you need to remind him that you could step back out onto the market at any moment. I feel like showing up in yellow would be the perfect move to keep him interested, you know? I mean, especially with someone like him, where cheating runs in the family blood, that's how you have to do it - you have to constantly remind them that you can cheat too, if you feel like it." Gabrielle was being nothing short of an instigator here, knowing good and well that Timothy wouldn't cheat on Kat, and that Kat had nothing to worry about in regards to that. She knew that Kat was the weakest link of their group, mentally, though, and that it only took a few comments like that to get into her head. As a friend, it was incredibly wrong to do, but Gabrielle was only thinking of herself right now. It was all about self-preservation, and saving face. She felt insecure now that her boyfriend had cheated on her, so now she had to ruin someone else's relationship, so that she wasn't alone in that.

"Angel! Rhapsody, darling! Il est temps pour vous de se rendre à l'école!" (It's time for you to go to school!)Rhapsody's mother was yelling from down the stairs of her art studio and bedroom, trying to get her daughter attention over the music blasting from the other side of the door but, the young artist was to focused to hear anything outside of her own personal bubble. She was too focused on the humongous marble sculpture in front of her and the jazz music playing around her to hear her mother or to see her phone going off. She had been working on her piece for months and now she was just finishing up cleaning off the excess dust from the marble. It wasn't until she heard a loud knock on the door that she snapped out of it to answer. "Huh? What?" Her eyes were still locked on her art, her baby, as the voice spoke again. "Excuse me? Ne pas ce que moi, Rhapsody Iman Vincent. Je suis ta mère et je peux vous enfermer là-dedans." (Do not what me, Rhapsody Iman Vincent. I am your mother and I can lock you in there.) Her mother yelled from the other side of the door so she could be heard over the music. "Shit." The young girl said under her breath as she tossed her brush down to the wooden floor and walked quickly down the metal stairs on the ladder to let her mom in. She jumped off the last step and rushed to the door to unlock it. She opened the door to see her mother with a smug smile on her face. "Désolé maman. Je viens, tu sais dans la zone." (Sorry mom. I just, you know in the zone.) Her mother nodded as she picked some marble pieces out of her daughter curly locks. "Je connais. Je connais. Vous avez été dans la zone depuis quatre heures du matin. Vous avez dit que vous alliez arrêter de faire ça.." (I know. I know. You have been in the zone since four in the morning. You said you were going to stop doing that.)

"Je sais que je dis que j'arrêter, mais je viens de recevoir une idée et je vais le perdre. Et--.." (I know I said I would stop, but I just got an idea and I was going to lose it. And--..) Her mother just put a hand up to stop her daughter from rambling. "Vous êtes la fille de ton père. Maintenant, préparez-vous." (You are the daughter of your father. Now, get ready.) Rhaps furrowed her brows before looking at the time on her clock in the corner. She has an hour and half not only to get ready but to also get to Brentwood that was thirty minutes away. "Crap!" She scurried into her studio to move her metal stairs into the corner of the large room before turning off her blasting jazz music. She tossed off her goggles and reached for her thick rimmed glasses and slide them on. She didn't worry about closing her skylight seeing that she would need the lighting when she got back home. As she rushed to move past her mother and scurry down the wooden stairs into her room which was connected to her studio, she almost tripped down the last step. She was always clumsy and she as much as she tried to become more elegant it was no use. She could her mother chuckle as she walked down the stairs and left her daughter's room without another word. Thank god she already had her outfit picked out so it allowed her to rush and take a shower and pray that all of the dust and chunks of marble would get out of her hair. But, of course that didn't happen seeing that her hair was so curly that it held on to things like Rhapsody held on to art brushes.

After around thirty minutes, Rhaps was out of the shower and was back in her room responding to Natalia who had one of her scarves. Not that she cared seeing that she had dozens of them to chose from. She text her best friend back before tossing her phone on her bed where her outfit was before she up on the black shorts that hugged her curves along with black tights to cover her legs and am acid wash jean jacket to top off the look.

To: Nat
Fine, but you owe me. <3

"Chéri, tu devrais y aller!" (Darling, you should get going!) Rhaps' father said from down the stairs. Rhapsody groaned as she looked over towards the door from where she was sitting at her vanity to fix her hair. "Ne me précipitez pas. Je pars." (Do not rush me. I'm leaving.) She turned back towards her reflection to wrap her headband tightly around her hair. When it was perfectly she rushed for her bag filled with her books and supplies that she saw as necessities. As she rushed down the stairs of the Vincent house and out the door before her mom and dad could stop her to try and get her to sit down to have breakfast. "Au revoir maman. Bye papa. Je t'aime!" (Bye mom. Bye papa. Love you!) She tossed her bag into her passenger seat before she slid into the driver's seat but, before she could start the car her dad was at her window with a Lilly Pulitzer lunch bag. Which she would have laughed at seeing that her father was a 6'7 muscular man holding a small pink flowery bag is she wasn't annoyed. Rhaps sighed deeply before lowering the window but before she could say anything her father's deep booming voice interrupted her. "Votre mère veut juste que vous mangez quelque chose." (Your mother just wants you to eat something.) She sighed again. "Je n'ai pas faim." (I am not hungry.)

"Ensuite, donner à Natalia ou petit ami de la vôtre, Giovanni ou est-ce Samuel" (Then give it to Natalia or that boyfriend of yours, Giovanni or is it Samuel.) Rhapsody nearly chocked on air. "What?! Neither! They're friends, papa that is it. That is all they are." Her father held his hands up defense. "Okay, okay. Amis, ils ne sont que des amis." (Friends, they are only friends.) Rhapsody nodded as she put the bag of food in her backpack. "Thank you." She rubbed her face before her father gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Have a great day. And say hello to your boyfriends, they are very nice." Francois said to his daughter as he walked back into the house only to hear her groan before starting her music. Before driving to school she sent a few text in order to find out where her friends were meeting at Brentwood before class. She tossed her phone back down as she started her 30 minute drive.

To: Riptide, Sammy, Rhys, Gio
Where are we meeting, I have food.

Lennox XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Rhys XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSebastian

It's not that Sebastian didn't enjoy hanging around with the other A-listers of Brentwood, much less that he didn't enjoy being one. It's more so the fact that Sebastian is sometimes, simply, exhausted of keeping up with the facade that he does. Truly, the only person that knows all of Sebastian for who he is, is Natalia. It is much less fortunate that aside from all the secrets he's either forced or feels the need to keep, his relationship with Natalia is among them. He struggled with keeping his secrets in the first place. For Sebastian, being something he wasn't took a toll on him. He wanted nothing more to share the truth about his home life, or the lack thereof. However, he knew that had the truth come out about his stint with homelessness, his brother's deteriorating mental health, his barely put together one-bedroom apartment, he'd promptly be cast out of the A-listers - shunned even - and be declared a fake, a poser. Not that he cared much about whether or not he was considered 'a royal' but more so the fact that some of these people are soulless individuals, angry enough to ruin one's life simply because they want to and can. Sebastian's life had been ruined enough and the last thing he needed was to be driven out of the very little he had left. So, he kept quiet about his relationship with Natalia. Although, he still questioned himself on what his relationship with Natalia truly was. It started as nothing more than sex every now and again and developed into something more. The truth is, he'd want more. But he's unsure of what she'd like and how to go about asking for such. Instead, he accepted what he had as is and left it at that. He kept quiet about it all, about every secret he held onto. Rather than exposing himself, he simply escaped the false he lived. He preferred being by himself most of the time anyway, so for him, it wasn't hard to walk from the other A-listers. And Natalia understood that.

This was one of those moments when Bas felt the need to step away. The night before, he had spent the night with Natalia but not before he had to take care of his brother who had a massive schizophrenic episode. Jamie's disease has been diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia; the boy often has auditory delusions and can sometimes experience vivid hallucinations. Most days, he's able to control his reactions towards the disease but this night, JT wasn't able to. He was scared and began lashing out aggressively. In the process, he attempted to run out of the apartment on the fourth floor of the building, and rather than come back into the apartment like Sebastian pleaded with him, he ran down the stairs, causing him to trip and break his leg and fracture his elbow. Jt was taken to the hospital and after spending hours with him, Sebastian finally decided to get some sleep at Natalia's. And now, standing just outside his classroom door alone, just the thought of the last couple of days have exhausted him. He wondered when everything would fall back to normal. When everything would no longer be a fight to survive but rather, an enjoyment of life. As he waited for more students to crowd the halls and fill the classrooms, he messed around on his phone. Wishing, praying, that somehow it'd give him all the answers for his troubles. Luckily, he didn't have to wait long, though he wouldn't know it until later. The phone buzzed in his hands, a text from Greg. I've got a surprise for you. Meet me at the restaurant after school. Bas responded with a simple 'ok' and went into the classroom, sat down, and sent a quick text to Nat before putting his phone away and pulling out his books:

To: Nat♥
I want to see you. I need you.

Tim broke off from the group of boys and Lennox was left with Eli. Two boys so similar, it's surprising they never attempted to rip each other apart from the throat. Both boys have a playful personality, only some may consider one more heinous than the other in their form of humor. Lennox watched as Tim went then turned his attention back to Eli, "Come man, fuck off with that. You only thought of Kayleen because I brought it up." Lennox knew that no matter what he said to Eli, it wouldn't matter. The girl was fair game and normally Kayleen would be off limits being that she's Tim's sister. This situation was a little different and Lennox wanted to take advantage of that. The minute he laid eyes on her, his heart fluttered a little. Something it hadn't done in so long, Knox thought he was having heart palpitations. He rolled his eyes as he knew fighting the matter would only make it worse. "Whatever man, she'll never go for you anyway. She wants a real man, not just some pretty boy with mush for brains." Lennox said smirking, as he tapped Eli's chest, just to fuck around with him. "Don't worry man, I'll let her you know you make a great best friend." Lennox teased as he slowly started walking away from Eli. He walked along the girls and Tim now. He interrupted their conversation quickly before trotting off to find Rhys. "Kat, when you're done pussy whipping Timmy boy here, come find me. I need you for something."As he walked away, he joking blew a kiss to Natalia, knowing it'd annoy her. He lightly jogged through the halls now to find Rhys; who happened to be at her locker texting back Rhapsody.

To: Rhap
I like food.. where are you? I'll find you

As Rhys waited for Rhapsody to respond, she looked up to see Lennox coming towards her. "Just the girl I needed to see," Lennox smiled as he approached her. "What do you need now, Knox?" Lennox leaned against the wall, facing Rhys. He put his hands up in a defensive manner, "What makes you think I need anything from you? Can't a guy just want to see one of his beautiful best friends?" Rhys raised a brow at him and Lennox gave in. "Okay, fine. I need you to help me with Kayleen." Rhys took a second to figure out who Kayleen was. The name was still so new to her that she struggled to put a face to the name. "Kayleen? As in, Kayleen Cargill?" Lennox nodded and Rhys continued, "As in, Timothy Cargill's sister? Your close friend, Tim?" Lennox nodded again, this time with a shy smile on his face. Rhys stood momentarily confused. "And what could you possibly need my help with that for? Can't you get girls all on your own? You are the infamous Lennox Atwood, afterall." Lennox pulled away from the wall and stood up straight, he rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "This girl is different, Rhys. She's not like these other girls who would kill to be at the top of the totem pole for a day. She's already there and she doesn't care about you if you're not. She'll never notice me unless I give her reason to." Rhys looked into Lennox's pleading face, "So? Then give her reason to." Lennox groaned what sounded like a soft growl. "You know what I mean Rhys." Rhys rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and sighed. She leaned back against the wall and give the boys plead a thought. She reluctantly nodded, "Fine, I'll help you. But how?" Lennox immediately smiled and wrapped his arms around her, gave her a kiss on the cheek "Ugh, I love you. Thank you! You're the best. And I don't know, you're smart. You'll think of something." Lennox ran off while yelling back at her, "Tomorrow. At the party!" Rhys smiled to herself, thinking: What a loser. Lennox finally met his match, a girl who couldn't care less about getting in his pants.

Nat's immediate response to Katherine's insistence that she wasn't a bathing suit probably wasn't what typical best friends had. She simply didn't react at all, or at least it didn't seem that way given the fact that all she did was stare at Kat for a second before turning her attention to her phone as Gabby and Kat prattled on about Ari, which was a completely different topic that Nat would have to actually focus on to have an opinion on Arizona's "uptight" personality. Natalia considered, without having to look at Kat's body, bathing suit options for the brunette to look out for. In moments like these, particularly when Kat's own insecurities and image issues were more at play than the brunette ever wanted to let on (and the fact that they had never really sat down and discussed Kat's eating disorder is a conversation for another day), Nat had to maneuver around her and the best way to do that would be to pick a bathing suit that Kat wouldn't mind wearing. The default color, considering Natalia knew that the other girl had a thing for thinking that she wasn't always thin, would be black if they weren't going to the party, but since Kat was definitely wearing red, Nat had to consider all of the recent bathing suits that came out and would compliment Kat's form without giving her too much to complain about in terms of the way her body looked. The most prominent of a reaction Nat could give, then, was the small smile in Gabby's direction once the blonde said she'd wear a bikini with her.

"That's a bit unnecessary, don't you think," Nat chimed in while texting back Ari, face scrunching up slightly before smoothing out just as quickly as she realized that Bas had text her only a moment after Arizona. Moments like these were definite clues that both Gabrielle and Natalia's thinking processes and reasoning were just a touch different. Nat wouldn't say that she was looking extremely deeply into Gabby's intentions by trying to convince Kat to wear yellow; she wasn't all-knowing, after all. But her mind played back to earlier to the way Gabby's hand fell on Tim's person and while she shook it off, the image was burned into her retinas along with the auditory memory of Gabs thinking that Kat needed to keep Tim "interested," whatever that meant for her brain to pick at later. She looked up then, first at Kat before glancing at Gabby and then back to her brunette bestie, and continued, "It's Tim, we're talking about. If he wanted to look elsewhere, he wouldn't have settled for being with you, Kat. Tim didn't do relationships before you, so in all honesty, there's really no time for keeping his interest. You've already got it, kotenok." Her voice notably softened on that last sentence and Nat reached over to place a warm hand on Kat's bare shoulder before gathering herself up mentally. She hadn't said anything that she said to undermine Gabrielle in any way, but at the same time, the mentality Gabby's words were going to put Kat in wasn't going to be conducive for a good shopping trip or weekend, if Nat knew Kat well enough. And if she was being forced to go shopping when she had an entire collection of bathing suits from one of her favorite Nigerian brands waiting at home to sort through should she change her mind and actually wear green like her friends insisted, then she was going to do so with a happy Kat. Anything less than that required a bottle of vodka to herself.

"I'm gonna head to class," she stated after a beat and with a small nod to Gabby and another comforting smile for Kat, Nat was backing away. "Some of us are taking an AP science and we already have a quiz scheduled for next Wednesday. I'll catch up with you guys later and you," Nat specifically pointed at Kat, "are definitely getting in that water, even if I have to pick out your swimsuit, ma'am." Walking away from the pair, Tim caught Nat's eye and she offered a considering look followed by a smirk before continuing on her way, texting both Ari and Bas as she went.

To: Ari
For one, you don't get over bisexuality. You deal with it and confront it, and I'm not saying confront Kat cuz that'd be a mistake, but maybe actually pursuing another female?? Maybe tomorrow? Also we're all going shopping after skool and Gabby and Kat are coming to my place tomorrow to get ready together. You should come

To: Bas
Want me 2 come 2 ur class b4 the bell? Meet me by the door

Kat could only nod in agreement with Gabby as she responded to her comment about Ari, but her smile faded quickly when the blonde turned the conversation to focus on her. Katherine was far more emotionally malleable than her friends, which was why Gabrielle's words admittedly probably did bother her more than they would other people. She trusted her friends and liked to believe that everything they said was being said with the best of intentions. Even so, though, she wasn't stupid, and she could think for herself more than she was given credit for. If nothing else, what resonated her was Gabrielle so casually claiming that cheating was genetic, and that she should basically just expect Tim to do it, if she wasn't constantly making an effort in keeping him interested. It didn't bother Katherine to an extent where it made her upset necessarily, but she knew that Gabby was a smart girl. She was smart socially, and academically, so making a claim that even Katherine knew was dumb, seemed odd. She supposed that maybe it was because she, herself, was a product of an affair, and she was well aware of how her father participating in that had nothing to do with her. She wasn't more inclined to be a homewrecker, just because her father had been one, years ago. Even if Gabby's claim seemed even a little bit logical, Kat easily reminded herself that following Timothy's father cheating, he had been in what seemed like a happy and healthy marriage for years. As far as Katherine knew, Mr. Cargill wasn't a serial cheater, and if it wasn't even something that seemed ingrained in the man's DNA, it made absolutely no sense to assume it would be passed along to his son.

Natalia's words allowed the caught off guard expression on her face to soften a bit, but she did nothing more than respond with a nod as the girl spoke, and eventually excused herself to get to class. Nat's words were the ones that Katherine preferred to hear, and a part of her wanted to just take those and pretend that she had never heard anything that had come out of Gabrielle's mouth, but that made her feel ignorant. She didn't want to be one of those girls who were blind to the problems in their own relationships, and now a seed of doubt had been planted in her mind. "He wouldn't cheat on me," she responded, in a way that sounded far less definitive than she wanted it to sound, and only after Natalia was gone. "And at least right now, even if I wasn't with him, I wouldn't want to be on the market." She paused then, her words probably sounding far more somber and serious than she was even comfortable with, so she added a smile in as she continued with, "Not with you out there as competition, now." Thankfully, she received a momentary distraction with the short return of Lennox, followed by Timothy slipping an arm around her waist. Knox had not given her enough time to even respond to his request for her to find him, but given that classes would be starting soon, she doubted that she would see him before they were both sitting down in chemistry class. Given that Kat didn't take the course as seriously as she should have, she was content with the idea of just discussing whatever he needed to discuss then.

"Sorry, Gabs, but if you don't mind, I've got to steal this Kitten for a minute," Timothy said, approaching the group that had turned from a trio of girls plus Lennox, into just a Kat and Gabby duo by the time that he had fully gotten over there. He had let Lennox off without even a playful punch to the arm after his comment, but only because he was out of reach by the time that Tim heard what he had said, and besides, he was also now more interested in Kat. With an arm still around her waist, and a playful smirk on his face, he pulled the brunette into the side hallway that he knew she had to go down anyway, to get to her locker. It was still busy over there, but less crowded than the main hallway, and he was able to find an empty area by some lockers to lead her to. Although he didn't bother to look to see if any teachers were around to begin with, he got lucky that there weren't any there to see him initiate the PDA, as he gently pushed her back against the lockers so that he could get a few seconds worth of kissing in.

Tim had acted too quickly for Katherine to decline separating from Gabby, but it was worth noting that had he given her more of an option, she probably would have insisted that they stayed with the Queen Bee. After the unsettling words that Gabrielle had left her with, Kat did not necessarily want to stay with her, but she was just used to the idea that it was unacceptable to simply abandon Gabby. Gabby had tons of other friends and Kat knew that it was silly to overthink it,but it still just felt like something that she wasn't supposed to do. Given Gabby's words though, and how Kat really didn't make the choice herself to run off with Timothy, she allowed herself to feel more relief than guilt now that they had separated. "You couldn't have stolen me at a better time," she said, her arms still draped around his neck, even though she had pulled away from his kiss. "But you know that I can't afford to be late to chem yet this year."

Today's physical education class had taken place on the athletics field, rather than inside of the school's gymnasium, because this week's gym topic was kickball. Being pretty competitive meant that Elijah was really up for any sport that they played in class, but he did enjoy this one more than some of the others. The class was divided into two teams of thirteen each, with Team A including Eli, Ari, Rhapsody, Kya, Rhys, Samuel, Sebastian, Katherine, Laylah, two other sophomores, another junior, and another senior, and Team B including Timothy, Natalia, Tristan, Zara, Alessia, Gabrielle, Giovanni, Lennox, Kayleen, three other seniors, and a junior. Because it would take five minutes for the students to jog back to the main campus from the fields, and they needed time to change out of their gym clothes in the locker rooms, their gym teacher, Mr. Lessig, yelled out onto the field that the next student up would be the last kicker for the day. With a tied score, Elijah grew tense with that call, considering that his team was currently playing the field, and that meant that their fate was in the hands of either how poorly the kicker on the other team was, or how well they could play the field.

When he saw that Tristan Castiel-Castellan was the next kicker in line, Eli's fears seemed to disappear as his signature smirk appeared on his face. "Bring it in, boys!" he said, acting as the self-appointed team captain that no one else had really agreed on, as he looked back towards the two sophomore boys, and a junior boy, who were playing the outfield. He knew that it wasn't nice, but in his mind, all he could say was "come on, there's no way in hell that this kid can kick". If he could, it would be one of those underdog moments from out of a movie, but Eli wasn't even considering that that was a possibility. Tristan was a meek, harmless boy who seemed like he would be the type to run away from the ball, if anything, so Eli was already content with thinking up teasing remarks that he could send in Timothy and Knox's direction once they hit the locker rooms.

The bases weren't fully loaded, but the opposing team had runners on first base and second base, so Elijah knew that unless Tristan's kick was caught in the air, all he needed to do was to make a kick that gave the runner on second enough time to make it home. Again, Eli was certain that that wasn't a possibility and that his team had this win in the bag, but he was comforted, at least, knowing that while he pitched the ball out, he had some of his more trusted teammates manning the bases. Just in case, he thought, as he took a breath and then with great speed, rolled the ball in Tristan's direction.
