"Yes, but a job is not going to pay me the money I need in only a month. The host of this club assured me that the more I fought, the more I would win. It's dangerous, but the pay will allow me to do what it is I want to do."
He found the club and parked the car. Randy then entered the club with Maria.
The host appeared soon after, not brandishing a gun this time, thankfully.
"Who is she?" he asked, with no trace of emotion.
"This is my girlfriend, Maria. She's not a cop."
"Well. we'll see about that, won't we?"
The host then began patting her down, being a little more thorough than Randy would have liked.
When the host had finished, he smiled.
"Well, Randy, she checks out. Come on down. I've got some good opponents for you."
Randy put his arm around Maria and guided her down. When they reached the ring, a match was just finishing.
The host pulled a muscular man to the side and pointed at Randy. The man nodded and stepped into the ring as the loser of the last match was being dragged out. Randy removed his shirt and jeans, wearing only the boxing shorts he had worn before. He then entered the ring, and the cage door slammed shut behind him.

Maria stood there with her hands behind her back, biting her lip. She didn't know what to do. She didn't want to see Randy get hurt but yet she wanted to be here for him. She looked around before looking back at Randy. She had never cared much for boxing.
