"Hm, maybe I came here at a different time of day, or perhaps I used to walk through different fields to go home." Rei suggested as he scratched his head while trying to remember if he actually ever had gone through this field they were in. He couldn't seem to remember, but he supposed it didn't matter now. "So, you own a dog... Don't you think that's kind of weird that you own a dog when you and I are practically cats or dogs respectively. I wonder how we came to be special? It makes me very confused since cats and dogs generally have the same likes and dislikes as us."

Skye let a small smile creep onto her face. "Well, that makes sense. Maybe we're just never in the same field." She sat down as she listened, her legs getting aches from standing so much. "Well, I used to have a dog. He ran away about three months ago, though. Then again, he never really like me. I always got the notion that he was telling me that I was too unsocial. Who knows where he is now?" She looked up towards the sky. "My theory on our creation is that some scientist created several hundred of us, then let us out into society to live on our own. It sounds crazy, but it makes a bit of sense in this crazy world." She giggled at his last comment. "It only makes sense that we share likes and dislike, considering that they're a part of us. Inside and out."

Rei sat down in the and said, "I suppose you're right. Anyway, since we're almost alike in some ways and different in others we should be friends. I've only ever had my cat Momo as a friend, which is why I came here. I heard this city had nekos and inus and all the humans around me didn't want to be my friend, at least when I've been disguised. They think I'm too secretive or something, which I am since I'm really a neko pretending to be human." Rei closed his eyes and let the wind around him blow. There was nothing more peaceful than a calm breeze.

"Strawberry shortcake? Okay, that it? Anything to drink?" Yuka said to Mao in her sweet voice that was so sweet that it would almost make you sick if you didnt like that kind of voice. Jared then said he needed to get his shirt from the beach. "You may get it. But dont take too long, okay? If you take too long then it might seem as if you are running away." Then Yuka came up close to him and her voice wasnt sweet anymore but rather dark and somewhat scary: "If you run away, I will find you and bring you back. And if you then complain about having no shirt, then I will put you in a butler outfit... or better a maid outfit." Yuka would have loved it to see the boy in a maid outfit and a wig with a stuffed bra underneath the outfit. He probably would really look like a girl.

Jared looked at Yuka like she was crazy. "I'm just getting my shirt... Jeez." He moved away from her face and got out of his seat, then walked to the door and walked out. Why would he run away? He had just made a new friend. And he wasn't stupid. He knew Yuka could catch him even if he ran. So why even try it? He walked to the beach and found the spot where they had been talking, fighting. He had kicked sand all over his shirt. He shook it out and put it on, buttoning it as he walked back toward the restaurant.

Mao almost forgets the true Yuka, the way she lathered on that sweet, buttery voice. But then she saw she was then threatening Jared that she would catch him if he were to try to run away, and she suddenly remembered then the situation they were really in. With a gulp, Mao silently nods in answer to Yuka who was trying to confirm her order, and ran her fingers through her black hair nervously. Her eyes hesitantly watched as Jared walked out, hoping he would return like he said he would. Not only was she worried for his safety if he didn't, but also if he didn't, Mao would feel quite upset in the fact that she would think he didn't want anything to do with her anymore.

Mao wasn't even sure what to think. They agreed they were friends, but was it true? Everything seemed to be going by so fast! As the bell attached to the cafe's door chimes out, her eyes quickly dart over to see Jared walking back in with his somewhat sandy shirt now on. A sigh of relief escapes her lips.

Jared slides hack into his seat across from Mao as he finishes the top button. "Happy? I come back quick enough?" He asked Yuka in a tone that seemed sincere, but the words themselves didn't. He didn't understand what the big deal was. So what if he had left? Mao probably would be safe if he did. His face fell a bit as he realized that and he kept thinking about it. The cat demons would believe Mao to be safer away from him because they think he would hurt her, but really, she was in so much more danger than that. The other nekos and cat demons could shun her. His own brethren could come after her, tease her, some would hurt her. His own enemies could come after her. He slid down in his chair, looking like a kicked puppy with no where to go.

Another customer entered the shop. "Jared. I didnt expect you here." The guy said. He then started to sniff, making it obvious that he was an inu. "Who is your girlfriend? You shouldn't date a neko. It is sick for an inu to be together with such neko scum." He didn't notice that Yuka, a cat demon, was in the room with them. The guy then went to Mao and spat at her. "Inus are nothing for you scum." He then pulled her out of the seat and threw her to the girl then kicking her. Suddenly something struck him in the side of his head. It was a powerful slap from Yuka that knocked him over.

"My, my. An Inu dares to hurt a neko when a cat demon is in the same room." Yuka said with a sinister tone although she still had a friendly smile only her face. The inu got up and attacked her. Yuka then punched him in the stomach and then picked him up by his neck. "Why are you like this? I could snap your neck right here right now." Yuka said. Then a psychotic grin grew on her face. "But where would be the fun? I like to play." Yuka said. She then threw him against the wall hard enough to make the wall crack. She then grabbed him by his face and threw him across the room. "Personally, I dont like relationships between inus and nekos much. But I will give this one a chance. It seems rather interesting. Anyone who endangers it will meet my wrath and horrible pain." Yuka then giggled, it slowly turned into a twisted laughter.

Jared became enraged as he saw a fellow inu hurt Mao. He stood up, anger flaring in his eyes, but it was too late. Yuka had gotten to him before he could. He walked over to the cat demon, his entire body tense and straining not to just leap and attack the inu that had harmed Mao. "Yuka, may I help you with this one? He may be my bretheren, but he is not my friend. I would get great enjoyment from taking this one off your hands." He said politely,staring the other inu in the eye as he said it.

When Jared asked if he could join in, Yuka said: "Sure but make sure you dont leave any claw marks or your brethren will know there is someone who goes against them. It should just look like a cat demon took the inu apart." Yuka then winked and dropped the inu so that Jared could deal with him. "Anyways, I dont like anyone who lays a finger on a neko. I know you seem to really care about Mao, but just as a warning, if you hurt her then you will end up just like this guy. Got it?" Yuka then took a seat and began to watch.

Jared grinned in an evil excitement as Yuka dropped the inu. He picked it back up before he could run. "Yuka, I would never do so. I know how to treat a girl, neko or not." He said calmly. Then his attention went back to the inu. "You should know your manners. It's illegal to beat a woman." He snarled, then threw the inu on the ground as hard as he could. He started kicking him as hard as he could, as fast as he could in the stomach until he was coughing up blood. "I do apologize for the mess. It will only get worse. I'll help you clean." He said to Yuka as he kicked one last time. He then picked the inu up and his eyes flashed the amber color that was only there when he was in his own inu form. He then held the inu by the throat, up on the wall, choking him. He watched with a smile as the inu's face turned red, then blue. He summoned his own claws out, and was about to use them, but then remembered himself. So he grabbed the other inu's hand and shoved it through his own stomach. Jared heard a crack as he broke the bones in the inu's wrist and felt the blood running down his hand. He smiled.
