Brody's look is the type of person you would see enjoying himself and not caring why he just has fun while at the clubs or someones frat party, and he's not too upset at that as that's usually his goal going out; to have fun. His short hair doesn't take much maintenance or work to style it the way he wants, usually just putting some gel in his hands, rubbing them together, and running his hands through her hair, usually swooping his bangs to the side and up. At worse it looks tousled, at best it looks perfectly wavey. Brody considers himself a baby face type of guy, never able to grow facial hair, but makes up for it with small freckles scattered across his face, mostly just on his nose and cheeks. Along with his baby face, he knows how cute he is, with this he knows he can shift his eyes just slightly and get what he wants with a puppy dog face, or curled lip to flirt with another guy.

With his flirtatious personality and "loving" behavior, Brody knows he has to have the look to back it up, in his free time when not at parties hooking up, sitting through boring lectures at uni, or dealing with the family behavior, he can be found at the local gym, working on whatever muscle group that landed on that day of the weak, though he hates cardio days and will sometimes "forget." His skin is mostly scar free, besides numerous cuts on on his hands from playing five finger fillet or just playing with knives. Each member of the Maione clan is required to have the letter M tattoo'd on them, except for the few that need to be more discreet. Brody put his own spin on it, plus something that would be simple and less time with the needle, he got the Monopoly M currency symbol on his right forearm. If someone started asking too many questions about it, he would just he likes playing monopoly and one game last a bet. He hates needles so he doesn't want anymore tattoos, the night he got his family one he had popped a few different pills as he would be very much distracted from what was going on.

P E R S O N A L I T Y:
Brody is very much a free spirit, not caring about much besides money, having fun, and having his families name so he can snap his fingers and get whatever he wants. Though he may be free caring and such, he loves the atmosphere brought on by parties and even loves being at the center of it whenever he can, often mentioning his last name to get the extra stuff most people couldn't get or get away with. While he wouldn't think twice of saying his last name, he is actually a really nice guy and cares about those close to himself, along with being a nice and gentle guy, his flirtatious nature comes out very naturally. Sometimes saying the right things to make someone blush to entertain himself, other times using his words mixed with a wink and a smile to go home with a man after a night of partying. While he enjoys going out, sometimes he feels like he wants to just sit back and relax, but most of the time that doesn't exactly last long and hes back at the clubs the next weekend.

Though when it comes to business, Brody needs to be reminded sometimes how serious things are sometimes, often thinking everything is a game for him to play and that "this isn't the time to be laughing and having a good time." But once he gets in the head space of the gang, a bit of switch flips in his mind, no longer Brody, but back to Ambrose. His pretty smile and shinning eyes die down as a more straight and dead look is seen upon on face, often getting is hands more dirty than needed. A few times Brody's other side has leaked through while away from his family, one big time being when he was at an LGBT rally and some a guy was bullying this younger girl and calling her slurs. He called Brody a pathetic faggot whose gonna die of AIDS that no one will miss, and Brody just attacked him. Luckily his family was able to spin the story to self-defense of a hate crime and get Brody free of the law.

Brody knows this side of him is scary and tries to hide it, often why he sticks to hook-ups. He's not sure how this side of him formed, but knows it was molded by his family and parents and usually what gets him his rewards.

Q U I R K SXA N DXO D D I T I E S:
-Outfits always tend to include a rainbow or other LGBTQ symbolism, sometimes more obvious than other times.
-Loves neon lights, espicially parties that have them.
-Flirts constantly and loves giving compliments, whether or not the feeling is returned.

F E A R S:
-Himself. The otherside of him that tends to come out around his family.
-Rats and spiders. Will scream and stand on a chair if one is too close to him, too close being within eye sight.
- Needles. While he loves knives and other pointy things, its not the sharpness that he doesn't like. Needles just freak him out and send a shiver down his spine, something about how small they are. "Just Ugh!"

The Maione family has a long history in Ferburn, one that isn't exactly that clean, dating back many, many generations, and over the recent couple decades not much has changed. Maione was always a name that would make people snap to attention or cower in fear, and that's just the thing they expected. Always having connections inside most of the law offices and precincts, and if they didn't have someone on their good side, it wouldn't take long for them to find some blackmail to get what they wanted. The fear of the name has gotten them to the top of the food chain, only competition they would have to face was the Hunt family who had always had control over the Northern side of town, the only place where one couldn't just simply say 'Maione' and get their way. Brody's grandparents and even his own parents hadn't change their ways from the old ways of being a Maione, keeping up with blackmails, spreading propaganda, as well as offering "protection" for business and taking a portion of profits for themselves. The Maione's always making sure they had an influx of cash and profits to keep themselves on their feet, and especially some money to bribe and buy their way through the city and spread the "truth."

The current generation Maione was ran by Brody's mother and father and quickly training up Brody and his siblings, younger sister (21) younger brother (19). While Brody is the oldest and by Maione code he would be the next heir, he isn't as involved as the rest of the family, often not caring and saying his siblings can just take over, especially with his sister stepping up in the places he was lacking and thoroughly enjoying the family business. Brody always said she should just take over instead of him, but the Maione name was never ran singlehandley by a female so there was a bit of push back with traditions. His parents threatened to cut him off from the family if he didn't follow in their footsteps. But they finally came up with a compromise, at least for now, of Ambrose sticking with the family for a few years and still learning everything to be a heir, but also working with his younger sister. His parent's worse case scenario is him becoming his sisters right hand.

Outside of the gang, Brody started going to university to keep himself busy, and as a way for his parents keep him on a more controlled leash, plus it gave him access to more parties. While he loves his major, photography, he often gets carried away or off topic from projects, but somehow always passing his classes, which may or may not have to do with who he is. He's been spending more time in neutral territory lately to get away from his family and hopefully meet some new people, people he didn't already have prior relations with.

Eli was leaning against the wall, scanning the menu, when he heard a familiar voice. He turned to look at Brody and smiled at the compliment. “You look nice,” he said. “Everything’s pretty good. Tell you what,” he said, smirking a little. “How about you let me order for both of us? My treat, seeing as you paid for our drinks the other night.” He suggested, before stepping up to the counter. He ordered his favourite dishes as well as some sides which he knew were good, before turning back to Brody. “So how have you been? Get up to anything interesting?” He asked. As far as possible, he wanted to try and minimise how much he spoke about his own family. If nothing else, it was only bound to stress him out, and he was supposed to be escaping from them for the night. They chatted for a few minutes, mostly making small talk, before their order was called out.

He took the food and paid for it, leaving a generous tip, before throwing a grin Brody’s way. “Come on then, I know the perfect spot.” He led the way into the park, following a winding path down to a quieter part where they were less likely to be seen, but where there were still a few picnic benches. It overlooked the small pond and the plants and trees that surrounded it, also protecting them from most eyes. He spread the food out on the table and sat down beside Brody.

“Far from fine dining, but I promise it’s good,” he said, handing Brody a pair of chopsticks. “And the view ain’t half bad,” he said, looking straight at Brody and grinning.

Ambrose smirked as Eli returned a compliment. Eli quickly said he would be picking and buy their meals, which Brody wanted to refuse, but just accepted his offer. “Whatever you say monsieur.” He joked holding his hand and leaning back against the wall, letting Eli go forward and get the food. Ordering of the food didn’t take long, though they had to wait a bit to get the actual food, the two quickly made small talk, this time a bit more about Brody. “Oh, just family stuff here and there. Plus my noisy sis knows I was with someone the other night.” He didn’t want to be too specific, never really knowing whose listening to his conversation.

It wasn’t long until a number was called out and Eli went to get the food, as well as quickly signaling for Ambrose to follow. He was glad that they were off a bit on their own away from any sort of prying eyes and able to relax, Brody would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little bit on edge or paranoid about being out in Hunt territory. The two found a picnic table in pretty nice location, Ambrose never really took the time to take in his surroundings when out and about, so he enjoyed nature around them. “Thanks.” He said with a smile as Eli handed him some chop sticks twirled them a bit in his fingers. “Is that a compliment to me, or the park?” Brody asked with a chuckle and began eating.

“Damn, this is pretty good. Wish there was something like this back by my place.” Brody spoke up in between bites. “So, I’m assuming its your parents keeping you from coming out of the closet and having to talk to girls like Brooke?” Ambrose asked, genuinely curious about the boy. He was thankful his family didn’t seem to care too much about LGBTQ+, mostly just the Maione image and name. Brody was staring at Eli and just analyzing how handsome the boy was when he noticed him adjust his hair, and a tattoo behind his ear caught his eye, one that fearfully seemed familiar. “You
have a tattoo behind your ear?” Amrose asked, curious about what his answer would be, and hoping it wasn’t what he thought it was.

Eli just raised an eyebrow and smirked as Brody asked if Eli was referring to him or the lake as a nice view. He was glad that Brody liked the food- it was one of Eli's favourite places to eat and if Brody liked it, Eli had an excuse to ask him back. He knew this was reckless, knew that every time they hung out together was a chance Eli could be found out, but they'd had so much fun the first night... Eli wanted to pretend, even just for a while, that this was something he could have.

He sighed as Brody asked about his parents, absentmindedly tucking his hair behind his ear. "Yeah. They're... pretty traditional, and while I don't think they'd react... aggressively or anything if I came out, I think they'd just be really disappointed. My mother has pictured big white weddings all her life, and I think my father would like to see both of his sons carrying on the family line, so... I know I should tell them, but I think I might wait until my brother has a kid first. Just... to soften the blow." He said. It was the truth, even if he couldn't reveal the full extent of why his family would be so disappointed.

He looked up as Brody asked about his tattoo, and his stomach sunk. He could lie through his teeth about it, and he intended to, but he didn't think for a second that Brody would believe him. He sighed and nodded, pulling his hair back to show it. "Yeah. I saw it somewhere and thought it was kinda cool, so I thought I'd get one for myself." He wondered if the lie sounded as obvious as it felt to him. He wanted Brody to believe it so badly. But maybe, he told himself, maybe Brody wouldn't mind all that much. It would just be another layer of an explanation as to why he couldn't come out, as those types of families and settings didn't have the best reputation for being accepting.

Ambrose sighed and changed his focus back to his food after hearing Eli’s explanation for the anchor tattoo. He had only known Eli for a short amount of time, but how they spoke during the other night after drinks, and how he spoke about his family not knowing about him being the closet felt different than how he spoke about the tattoo. But maybe he was telling the truth, maybe he just saw a Hunt thug with it and thought it was cool without knowing the implications of the ink. Or, it was much worse and Eli was someone who worked for the Hunt family and would turn on Brody for being a Maione.

Brody was thankful his own tattoo was currently covered so he wouldn’t have to come up with some sort of story for his own. Though, he did already have an excuse for it since it seemed very similar to the Monopoly money symbol. Brody continued eating the food and just tried to ignore the tattoo for now. “So
” He began speaking, shifting the conversation back to the other topic. “Yeah, I get what you mean. My parents weren’t exactly throwing a party when I told them, my sister was a bit more comforting. But whether that’s because she’s getting more attention from it, or she cares, is beyond me to be honest.”

He wasn’t sure what he said made sense to Eli, his sister Maddy would be getting control over the family business, just behind a closed curtain. Coincidentally after Brody spoke about his sister, his phone began to ring, and based on the ringtone, he could tell it was his sister. Brody was smart enough to have a different ringtone for most contacts in his phone, mostly using the default ones that came with his phone. “Hey, I gotta take this, sister doesn’t call me often so it’s probably important.” He said setting his food aside and standing up to take the call, taking a few steps away from the bench and Eli.

The phone call was short and concise. Ambrose was needed back as soon as possible, something about a possible meeting with the Hunt family. Brody shot a glance at Eli, thinking back to the tattoo. “Yeah, I get it Maddy. I’ll be there soon.” He quickly hung up and turned back to Eli. “So I gotta go, family emergency. Thanks for the food and the view.” Ambrose grabbed his things and gave Eli a kiss on the cheek. He wanted to do a bit more, but was still a bit put off about the tattoo. “I’ll message you.” Brody said quickly as he headed back through where they came and quickly started his bike to ride home.

Eli nodded as Brody said he got it. These things were never easy, never straightforward, and it was nice to know that Brody understood the need for secrecy and being discrete. He nodded as Brody said he needed to take the call and stepped away, eating his food and watching the lake as Brody spoke on the phone. He was disappointed when Brody came back and said he needed to go, but a family emergency was a family emergency. He watched as Brody left, sitting by himself for a few minutes. And then his own phone buzzed with a text, telling him to get his ass back to the house immediately.

He got back to discover there was an emergency meeting with the Maione family. Eli already didn't want to go. Given how high tensions were, he knew it was probably going to descend into violence, and that wasn't where Eli worked best. But one look at his father's face, and he knew that it wasn't going to be worth his while arguing about it. There was a suit already waiting for him in his bedroom, crisp and new, and perfectly tailored to allow him to wear a bulletproof vest under it. He usually hated the weight of the things, but he got the feeling that tonight of all nights, it was probably better to just wear it. He pulled on his holster and slid his gun into it, knowing that his father wouldn't want him going unarmed, and that going unarmed would be a bad idea anyway.

They showed up to the abandoned trainyard a few minutes ahead of schedule. Eli, Gerard, and their father were dressed in matching suits, presenting a solid unit. Their mother never came to the meetings with them, usually preferring to coordinate their backup and keep an eye on things from a different location. The men they had brought with them stood at attention, ready to jump to action if things went suddenly very wrong.

It didn’t take Ambrose long to get home; he was more so rushing to get out of Hunt territory than rushing to get back to his family, knowing if they knew where he was there would be many questions and he wasn’t sure how exactly he would answer them. His sister didn’t say much over the phone besides bringing up the Hunt family, so he was a bit intrigued about all that was going on, especially with the recent actions of his sister against the Hunt’s eldest son. Along his ride home, his sister texted him about where he was and what was taking him so long, Brody quickly replied with a message talking about traffic, but he only was a few minutes out now.

Brody pulled his motorcycle in the garage and closed the door behind him, leaving his helmet on the shelf before walking inside. After quickly entering, he could hear the conversation about the Hunts had already started with his family, mostly yelling between his sister and their parents. “Are you kidding me? Talks about peace?! We should be out there taking what is ours, not playing fiddle with them.” Brody heard his sister yelling out, pounding a fist on the table. “It is just talking. No concrete deals.” His father retorted just as he turned from the hallway. “Wait wait wait, peace? With the Hunts?” Ambrose asked, confused about all that is going on. Over the next few hours the Maione family discussed what was going on and their plan. Ambrose and Maddy actually agreeing on something for once.

They got everything situated and began heading to the abandoned trainyard, the meeting spot for this meeting. The Hunt’s were always the type to try to outshine and show they are better than everyone with their professional fancy suits, while Maione’s did show a care for fashion, during their “work” they knew suits were not the right thing to wear as they easily got damaged and dirty. Each of them wearing their more signature look to the meeting. Ambrose with a simple leather jacket over a shirt and a bandana covering the lower half of his mouth, something he wore often during his family’s work, though people could still read his expressions through his eyes. Maddy wore her studded jacket she wore everywhere, adn their parents wearing similar outfits. Also under them all were a bullet proof vest that they had recently acquired from the shipyard.

While they traveled together, the family didn't all take the same vehicle to the location, in the off chance it was a trap they would have options for getting away. The majority of their guard traveled in an SUV leading the convoy, a second SUV behind them held Brody’s parents, his sister drove herself in her Bentley, and Brody followed behind riding his motorcycle. As they pulled into the trainyard, the two SUV’s split apart, with Maddy parking on the right behind their parents and Brody circling around a bit as Maddy and the parents got out and started walking towards the others. It wasn’t until Brody’s father raised his hand that he pulled his motorcycle up next to his sister and got off of it, running his hand through his hair and making sure his mask was positioned on his face.

When he looked around he noted the number of men the Hunts had brought, and two things caught his attention. The eldest son was here, which surprised him a bit after what Maddy told him, and the second was that the youngest son was also at the meeting. He hadn’t seen him much involved in the business, and now he knew why. It was Eli.

Eli didn’t usually come to these things. People knowing his face made his job much harder to do, and he usually didn’t have much to contribute anyway. But his father had given him some spin about wanting to present a unified front or something. Besides, apparently it was peace talks. As much as Eli desperately wanted peace, wanted to be able to walk around the city without being watched and without having to fear for his life if he took a wrong turn, he wasn’t convinced it was going to work out all that well. But he didn’t want to argue either, so just did as his father told him.

He resisted the temptation to just shove his hands in his pockets and mimicked his brother’s stance as the Maiones approached. They never seemed to have the same finesse that the Hunts liked to display, instead trying to come across as intimidating by looking like every pop culture gang ever, down to the girl’s ridiculous and over the top studded jacket. One of them even had a bandana over his face. Eli’s eyes skimmed over each of them in term, reading them. The younger members of the family seemed to be unimpressed and not likely to co-operate. He wasn’t convinced any of them were really here for peace.

His eyes flicked back to the man with the bandana again. There was something almost familiar about him, a feeling that made Eli uneasy. The man seemed off, like something had rattled him though, and Eli wondered if they could use that to their advantage. He made a mental note to watch him particularly closely throughout the meeting. His own father stepped forward and began to speak, saying how both sides were suffering heavy losses and how a peace treaty would benefit them both. Eli watched the other family carefully, reading every reaction.

It didn’t take long for the meeting between the two families to start. Ambrose stood off next to his sister, not talking much to the other family., letting his parents do most of the talking to the Hunts. Even though he was next in line, Brody tended to stay out of the spotlight, Gerard, the next in line for the Hunt family took more control than Amrbose ever would during these meetings. Maddy threw out a few snarky remarks here and there, and every time Ambrose would just tell her to be quiet, which made her roll her eyes. It wasn’t until Gerard retorted, calling her a little whore that finally brought words out of Brody’s mouth. “Hey! Don’t talk to her that way. Unlike her, I won’t miss the shot.” He shouted from beneath his bandana.

“Ambrose. No need for threats.” His father quickly, trying to shut down anything before things escalated. “That wasn’t a threat father, it-” Brody started talking, but a glare from his father shut him down quickly. “Honey, go take a breather.” His mother quickly said to him. This was one of their many codewords the Maione’s had set up, his mother didn’t actually want Brody to take a breather, but to step away and do some scouting around, in this scenario, see if the Hunts set up any sort of trap. He faked an eye roll and an out loud sigh of a deep breath and walked off to the side and quickly out of sight between some train cars.

Brody stayed light on his feet as he snuck around, not wanting to be caught too far away from his family. He expected their rivals to send someone to look for the missing Maione child, and would be a bit disappointed if they didn’t if he were to be honest, and dumb on their part. But he wasn’t worried, right now he just cared about gathering some information and any possible threats that may be coming their way. While his parents were content with speaking about peace and a possible truce, Brody and Maddy weren’t as optimistic, both expecting a sort of scuffle going on.

There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary around the trainyard, it was starting to seem like the other family didn’t bring any tricks up their sleeves or ambush plans, even though they got to the location first and this particular location was their idea. As Brody climbed down a ladder off of a train car, he heard the sound of a can getting kicked and quickly turned with his gun towards the sound. He froze for a second seeing it was Eli, subconsciously lowering his weapon a bit, not saying anything.

His brother’s temper was going to get them into trouble as usual, it seemed. Eli didn’t externally react as his brother called one of the Maiones a whore, but internally, he was rolling his eyes. That wasn’t going to get either of them anywhere, and their respective leaders seemed to realise that. One of the Maiones threw an insult, though, and normally, Eli would have taken it as a sign that they were getting under their skin. But instead, his brow furrowed ever so slightly. The voice of the older Maione seemed
 familiar.

As the matriarch sent him away, Eli already knew what his order would be. He slipped away as quietly as he could, going to follow him. He knew how this worked now. He was to go and follow them, and make sure they weren’t setting up any sort of trap. Eli was the best for going undetected, knowing how to stick to the shadows and how to go undetected.

But the familiarity of the other man had rattled Eli ever so slightly, and he was a little off form. As he watched the Maione climb down from a train car, Eli’s foot nudged a can and sent it rolling away from him. He swore silently to himself, going for his own gun. But the Maione didn’t shoot for some reason, and so Eli didn’t either, keeping the gun pointed squarely at the man’s head.

“Come on, then. You’ve got me all alone, why the hesitation? You too afraid?” Eli said, knowing that provoking this man was probably the best way to get him angry and throw him off.

Eli was the last person Ambrose wanted to find on the outskirts of the meeting. Why couldn’t he just stay with his family? He spoke to himself inside of his head, sighing out loud. He listened as Eli spoke, taunting him, trying to tempt him into attacking. “I’m not afraid of you. You’re just your brother’s and father’s lackey, hence why I haven't seen you out and about. You barely do any family business.” Brody responded harshly. He wasn’t exactly trying to get on his nerves, but he just spoke what came to his mind. He didn’t appreciate being called scared, especially when he knew this Hunt wasn’t as involved as he was. “So the real question is, are you afraid?”

Brody wasn’t worried about Eli. From the vibes he felt during their time together, and from not seeing him with the rest of the Hunt’s he didn’t expect him to just shoot him right then and there. Plus, a gunshot would raise suspicion and probably derail things at the meeting. But right now he just had to worry about keeping his composure, keeping the secret that Brody was the one who spent the night with Elliot. Brody spoke again, not giving room for a reply after his rhetorical question. “Regardless whether you're scared or not boy, you aren’t going to do anything about it. Your family cares more about this than mine, therefore you’re probably told to behave.” A smirk followed Ambrose’s words, and while the bottom half of his face was covered, his eyes gave away the wicked expression. He quickly and smoothly in one motion lowered and holstered his gun, then fixing his jacket and tugging on the collar.

“Now. Don’t follow me, wouldn’t want to rough up that pretty face of yours.” Ambrose spoke and followed with wink before he turned his back to him. He wanted up keep up the facade of just being a Maione family member, and not deal with whatever would follow Eli finding out the truth. He took a step forward, to return to his task he had before being interrupted, he still wasn’t 100% the Hunt’s didn't set up an ambush, and it gave him more time away from the meeting and Elliot.

But as Brody began walking around he felt a grip on his shoulder stopping him, and more so out of reflex, he turned around quickly throwing the arm off of his shoulder and pushing the man back. He shoved a bit more rougher than he intended to, but he didn't appreciate how Eli was being. Why couldn’t he just understand Brody is trying to not hurt him. ”You don’t want to do this Eli.”

Eli knew exactly what the Maione was trying to do, and so he just refused to respond or react. Losing his head or being baited into an argument would probably backfire, and he wasn't going to put himself at risk like that. So he simply stared the man down, keeping his expression neutral and not allowing himself to visibly react in any way. This was his reputation and he was determined to keep it intact.

But there was something almost disturbingly familiar about the other man, and Eli couldn't put his finger on it. It unsettled him greatly, though, and he didn't like it. It was something about the man's eyes, though. Eli didn't quite know what he was thinking when he reached out to grab the other man as he went to walk away, but it was almost a reflex. He wasn't sure what he was expecting and wasn't surprised when his hand was roughly shoved away, but that thought was quickly pushed away as the other man called him Eli. And suddenly, with a sinking, nauseating feeling in his stomach, he realised why the man was so familiar. Ambrose. Brody.

"Brody?" He asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper. He didn't wait for an answer, instead taking a step backwards. "Oh my fucking god." His voice. Those eyes. His mannerisms. Eli didn't need to wait for an answer. Instead he turned and began walking back towards where his family was, back towards the meeting, away from Brody. He felt vaguely sick at what had happened. Because he'd really liked Brody, and for he'd felt somewhat optimistic about things maybe working out. But if he was a Maione, all of that was impossible. Completely impossible.
