H E I G H TXANDXB U I L D: 5â11, slender
Eli doesnât look like your typical gangster, and thatâs exactly his intention. Dark brown hair falls in waves around his face, falling just below his jaw. Itâs never messy or unkempt, always just stylishly ruffled at best. His bangs sit perfectly as to fall into his eyes practically on demand, but never fully obscuring those big, dark eyes. Cheekbones and a jaw that could almost cut glass complete the picture perfect image. Eli has a soft face, the type of face you want to trust, and thatâs exactly how he likes it.
Heâs not particularly muscular or bulky, but he keeps himself slim and in good shape through time in the gym and sparring. For the most part, his skin is entirely unblemished, except for a red scar on his stomach that has never fully faded. He has no piercings and only two tattoos- two arrows on his right arm and a tiny anchor behind his left ear. The anchor is a tattoo that all of his familyâs inner circle has gotten as a sign of their loyalty and recognition, but Eliâs is more subtle and easier hidden than most. Day to day, Eliâs style is nothing remarkable. He can be found in anything from a t-shirt, ripped jeans, and a leather jacket to a button down and chinos, depending on his mood. When on official business or just wants to dress up, heâs found in tailored, designer suits, always impeccably dressed.

P E R S O N A L I T Y:
Eli is a chameleon, able to adapt to fit into any situation he wishes with ease. He can make anyone believe heâs supposed to be in a certain place, even when he definitely should not be. He can switch from nervous and shy college student to arrogant police officer at the drop of a hat, and can charm almost anyone. Itâs probably no surprise that in many ways, heâs his fatherâs favourite. He fits the role heâs been given with ease, because people just seem to trust Eli. And even if they donât, he can still get secrets out of them or convince them to tell him what they know about the enemy. Heâs not the typical Hunt, but he doesnât need to be.
But it can be difficult to figure out who the real Eli is. If he wants something from you, then heâll become exactly who he needs to be to get that from you. And all that means heâs not totally sure who he is any more either. He hates being alone, because he knows thatâs when his true self comes out, and yet he still canât put words to who he is in those circumstances. Itâs so much easier to just let yourself be shaped by everyone else. His family means everything to him, and the self he is around them is the self he likes most. Calm, capable, intelligent, witty. But it still feels like an act.
And maybe the thing that makes it feel like an act is the one thing he canât change to fit what he thinks his family wants. Being gay is the only part of his identity heâs sure about, because itâs the only thing he canât change to suit the situation. Sure, he can pretend, but he canât change how he actually feels. Heâs told himself that he will tell his family eventually, but he just feels like heâs somehow let them down. His mother talks loudly about how excited she is to see both her sons married, and she was heartbroken when Eliâs engagement broke down. She has a picture in her head, and Eli knows that his vision of the future doesnât fit it. Heâs also got a feeling that his father suspects something about Eliâs sexuality, but neither of them will bring it up. Itâs just easier to coast along and pretend everything is fine.
Q U I R K SXA N DXO D D I T I E S:
Eli wears rings and has a tendency of playing with them when heâs nervous or when he wants to give off the appearance of being nervous. He doodles on any piece of paper within reach if he has a pen. His hair is always kept deliberately long enough to hide the anchor tattoo.
F E A R S:
Being outed against his will is perhaps his biggest fear. Heâs also terrified of death, which is why he prefers his slightly safer role. Heights make him dizzy and light-headed.

For generations, Eliâs family has been on the wrong side of the law, but nothing could ever be pinned on them. Eliâs grandfather was the beginning of the new era, however. He began pouring money into businesses and taking over them, making his money in apparently more legitimate ways. But he was setting a new precedent, one that Eliâs father was set to continue. People began to view the Hunts in a different way, in a more benevolent way. Even the cops. Which meant they could get away with more. And when Eliâs father, Jonathon, took over, the family began to give generous donations to the cops. Before long, the entire police service was eating out of the Huntsâ hands, and they could do whatever they like.
Jon was a big act to follow. But he had two sons, Gerard and Elliot, and he was determined to train them both in the ways of the business. Gerard was the older of the two and the heir, meaning the pressure fell on him instead of Elliot. Elliot was instead trained to be a spy, trained to blend into any situation he wanted and to get out of any situation with ease. But two things always weighed heavily on Elliotâs mind. One. If anything happened to his brother, he would be forced to step up. And two. He was rapidly beginning to realise he wasnât straight.
He wasnât the direct heir, so it wouldnât have mattered, not really. But Gerard had a habit of getting into sticky situations, and found it harder to get out of them, and Elliot was constantly afraid he would die and everything would be left to Elliot. In that case, he would also be responsible for the next generation of Hunts. And being gay meant that that wouldnât be possible. So he did everything he could to try and leave that behind him. He dated a girl all through high school, and shortly after graduation, she declared that she thought they should get married. So Elliot panicked and proposed.
It was a short engagement, as six months later, he caught her cheating on him. Even if he couldnât show it outwardly, he was incredibly relieved as it was a feasible reason for him to break things off. His mother was heartbroken, but the whole thing had just confirmed to Elliot that he was only attracted to other men. Dating was difficult. His family had spies and moles everywhere, and he didnât trust a single one of them not to tell either of his parents. But he found a few spots in quieter parts of town, neutral territory where he was less likely to run into spies from either side. It wasnât like he ever seriously dated. That was impossible. But he could at least spend a few hours with a cute guy and sometimes even at least go home with him. One evening, after heâd been âstaying with a friendâ, he got home and his father made an off hand comment. It wasnât harsh or judgemental, but Eli got the impression that his father knew where heâd been and what he was up to. Elliot still hasnât admitted to it and his father hasnât mentioned it since. His brother recently got married, and Elliot has told himself that once Gerard has a child, Eli can renounce his claim to being an heir and maybe then he can admit it to his family. Maybe.
