Introduction
Arocos ruled the North from a great fortress he constructed in the mountains, and at the very top of Mount Sinsubar, the highest mountain in the realm, he built a vast shrine to Pardellus in thanks for the kingdom he led. Though the eldest, he had been a poor warrior and a bad tactician, and had thought he would gain none of his father's inheritance.
In the east, Orivos and those loyal to him built a vast palace in the middle of a thick forest, and from here Orivos presided over his kingdom. Each day in the palace's temple, Orivos sacrificed an animal to Pardellus and thanked the realm's God for his generosity. Orivos was in truth a poor leader, at home only on the battlefield, and was grateful for the quarter of Elsur he had received.
In the south, Tisolos built upon a wide open plain a mighty stone compound. This compound was the centre of his power and from here he led the people that had come to him. A vast church was built within the city he had constructed, and here he came at night to pray to Pardellus, and to thank him for all he had. Tisolos, too, had feared he would be left with nothing, as though he was both a mighty warrior and a good leader, he had often clashed with his father and angered him in arguments. Like his two older brothers, he was thankful for the kingdom he ruled.
Finally, in the west, Urveros made his home. He was a fine leader and a mighty warrior, and had never shown anything but respect to his father, but Ilysus had seen within him a great evil, and had forbidden him any access to his inheritance. His three brothers had taken pity on him, and given him the western quarter of the kingdom, but here there was only blackened wasteland, unfit for farming and mainly neglected by Ilysus' vast empire. Urveros and his small following built here a castle of black stone. Urveros, however, hated his father and brothers for leaving him only with this barren kingdom to rule, and renounced Pardellus for his treatment of him.
Some time later, Urveros erected a temple in worship of Burakuhro, the dark menace Pardellus had defeated, saying that men were more like Burakuhro than the false god the others worshipped. Each day Urveros would go to his temple and offer up his own blood in tribute to his new god. On the night of Pardel's Sabbath, the old festival on which most people of Elsur celebrated Pardellus' greatness and his banishing of Burakuhro, Urveros announced he had been visited by a vision of his new master: Burakuhro had implored the western king to spread his faith throughout the land. Urveros declared all those who still worshipped Pardellus to be heathens and blasphemers, and sent his men actively to war against the other three kingdoms. When he viciously attacked Arocos' kingdom to the north, Arocos went to his other brothers for assistance, and together, they repelled Urveros' armies and invaded his kingdom. When his kingdom fell, the three united brothers burned his castle to the ground, and Urveros along with it. Eyewitnesses, however, claim to have seen Burakuhro's spirit arise from the smoke, where it spoke to the three brothers, warning them that their victory was short-lived and that they would pay for their crimes in the future. The three remaining brothers declared their allegiance to Pardellus and took control over the western kingdom, where they forced its inhabitants to reconvert to their old faith and renounce Burakuhro. They set a new leader over the kingdom and life returned to normal. The western kingdom was named Urveros in the fallen king's honour. Upon the other brothers' deaths many years later, their kingdoms were named in the same manner.
Many years later, a mysterious cult began to gain prominence in the Kingdom of Urveros. It is said that they are preachers of the same evil gospel King Urveros taught. They have been denounced by the King of the Realm, King Poten. In the kingdom of Arocos, where their is particular hatred of this faith, tensions grow as citizens demand something be done about this new group. Their king, King Jom, tries to quell the tensions but to no avail. In the east, King Aten is more sympathetic and open-minded, which garners much anger from his subjects. Finally, in the south, King Winson is viciously opposed to the west and east, and is riling up those in the north with his determination to sort the issues in the west. It is here, with peace called into question, that this roleplay begins.
