Introduction

The Story

A group of friend begins receiving strange and ominous visions along with a small leather bound book. After months of various visions, strange occurrences, and studying of the book, the group comes to a conclusion to what it all means; The world will end and their only chance of survival is finding and freeing a savior. At first, most of the group denies it, believing it to be completely random occurrences. As the visions continue, more often and more extreme, the group investigates farther until they finally begin to believe that what they concluded at first was right. The group would dive deeper and deeper into the 'prophecy' until they see a man who fits their visions. Believing that this man would be their savior they would kidnap him. Purchasing a home with their combined funds, they would stay their with the so called 'savior', cutting all ties as they pushed the man to prove them right, to save them from the end. Despite what the members of the group believe, they are no where near prepared for the war that will follow.

This role-play will focus on the various members of the small group, their friendships and romances, along with the truth behind the savior as he begins to learn who he truly is.

The actions of the characters, the sate of the savior, and the time it take to fine the truth will all factor into who lives, who dies, and what becomes of the world and its inhabitants.

Characters

When submitting your character please include a photograph of the character along with a short bio. When entering a character, make sure the character name is his or her first name alone, leave the last name for the actual profile.

*There can be multiple characters that fall into this category. (Meaning there can be more than one extremist, follower, ect)

#This character can be either male or female.

Characters that we need filled the most.

Characters we need who take the most commitment.

I may allow characters that do not fall into any of these categories once the important ones fill up

The Savior: A seventeen-year-old boy who lost both his parents at a young age. The group kidnaps him in an attempt to save themselves from the end. He is strong-willed and refuses to co-operate with the group, acting out violently against the members of the group and taking any chance he can to escape.

The Leader: She leads the group in her escapades and believes in the prophecy deeply. She is level-headed and kind but she does what she must to make sure the group succeeds in their task, sometimes acting out of character to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch. She is protective over the savior, spending nearly all her time with him, but may allow things that hurt him and put his health in jeopardy.

The Impostor: He does not believe in the prophecy at all. He has only followed the group because he has feelings for the leader and has joined in an attempt to win her over. He dislikes the savior and the attention the leader gives him, leading to him treating the savior badly and taking any attempts that he can to hurt or kill the boy. #

*The Moralist: She believes in the prophecy deeply but refuses to sacrifice many of her morals for it. She is strong and quick to interject, pointing out when something is wrong. She believes in the savior but refuses to do a lot if it seems immoral.

*The Romantic/ The Rebel: She believes in the prophecy but cares more for the savior himself. She is hard headed, commanding, and generally angry. She treats the other members of the group rather badly even though she cares for them. She begins to care for the savior as a person not a means to an end, defending him wildly from the other members of the group. She spends the most time with the savior, attempting to make him comfortable and calm him down when he is upset. She is one of the few that doesn’t fall for his tantrums, either trying to calm him down or just telling him to shut up. She refuses to allow the group to do anything that may hurt the savior.

*The Follower: He believes in the prophecy more than most but does not have the ability to interpreter it himself/herself. He will blindly follow whatever the leader tells him to do as he fears what would happen if he didn’t. He is meek and quite. He doesn’t share any feeling for the savior other than those of the leader. #

*The Inquisitor
: He believes in the prophecy deeply and is willing to hurt and torture the savior for answers. He spends most of his time examining the savior and running various tests on him. He is dead set on finding the truth behind the savior, not caring at all for who he hurts. He would let the savior die if it meant he could find the truth. #

*The Friend: She believes in the prophecy enough to stay with the group. She grows close to the savior and treats him as a friend, caring for him and his well being but still refusing to free the man. It is unclear if she would choose being saved or the life of the savior. #

The Extortionist: He is only here as the group paid him to stay silent. He doesn’t care about the prophecy at all, believing they are all insane. He uses his power over the people to force them into things they normally wouldn't, using the kidnapped boy as leverage. He will not release the savior, as it would mean that he would not be paid. #

*The Extremist: He believes the most in the prophecy. He will do anything and sacrifice anyone if he believes the prophecy asks for it. He lives and acts by the book, word by word. He is extremely violent and fanatic about the writings. He would readily sacrifice the savior. #

The Citizen
: He is a police officer that stumbles upon the happenings of the group. He remains quiet as what they tell him of the prophecy seems to make sense. He uses the greater good to justify what they are doing to the boy and uses his position to avoid suspicion. He cares more for the greater good then the savior, readily sacrificial him if it meant others would live.

The Tempter
: He believes in the prophecy but he twists and turns the meanings of the book and the visions to get the members of the group to do what he wishes. He is highly trusted and his word has weight, usually making or breaking a decision. He is often turned to for answers. Is is uncertain if he would kill the savior. #

The Visionary: He doesn't have a opinion on the prophecy, he simply receives the most visions and portrays to the group the different passages of the book as they appear. He is hardly ever seen, spending most of his time on the roof of the home as he believes it makes his visions clearer. He would have nothing to do with the saving or killing of the Savior.

*The Others: They are the driving force behind the 'end', these characters may or may not be introduced depending on the character's actions. If you are interested, please let me know and ill send you the details.

Toggle Rules

-Check with me before making any serious plot moves (killing the savior, letting him go, ect)
-Do not god mod. Although it may seem that the savior is god modding, it is necessary to push the story forward.
-Try to stick to the character templates a bit. Meaning, don't make a character who is supposed to be angry and mean, calm and nice. The characters are the way they are for a reason, please do not change that. If there is something missing in a character profile, like their attitude, that is up for you to decide.
-Watch the romance, while it is allowed and encouraged do not abuse it. Anything passed kissing and hugging should be taken to PM's
-Match your level of violence to your character. Although your character's actions are up to you, think about what level of violence your character is capable of. The extremist and the impostor for example would be much more violent then moralist or the friend.
-Be respectful and Have fun.

Rhea moved out of the way and also stood up, squaring her shoulders. “No one is nice to me!” She almost shouted, sending him another glare. She backed away from him and twisted on the spot to look at the chains. “Ok, Sorry” Rhea apologised, holding her hands up “Just don’t…” She grumbled trailing off. “We will let you go, eventually”

Baird would say nothing, keeping his words hidden from the girl. He didn't want to say something he would regret. He didnt care if she liked him, but he did need to keep her somewhat happy with him or else he wouldn't be fed. "Yeah, Eventually? How bout now..." He spoke timidly as he dug his head into his knees, closing his eyes as he drifted to sleep. It was a long day...

Rhea didn’t reply to Baird as he drifted away, instead she took her seat by the door, returning to her guard dog-like position. She stayed sat in the same place watching him, occasionally humming just to break the quiet sound of his breathing. After sleeping for a little while she woke again with a start because of a nightmare. Rhea’s eyes darted around just to check that they were alone, she rose slowly to her feet and walked over to the sleeping Baird then sat down lightly next to him and folded her legs underneath her. “Wake up, I’m bored” Rhea grumbled as she nudged him with her elbow. “Talking to yourself isn’t much fun y’know”… She wondered if he was hungry or not, he looked much better but still weak and mistreated.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Ok then Doth, just submit a character profile and ill take a look. Take a look at Rhea or the Savior's character sheets so you know how to structure your's, please ask any questions you may have on this thread. Thanks, glad to have you aboard!

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

I'm interested in being a follower. Very interesting plot.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Okay! But usually when I edit a post it repeats it? Don't worry, I scan my posts a couple of times before I submit them anyway :)

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Glad to have you aboard but keep on thing in mind, while this isn't the most advance role-play out there, i do stress proper grammar and punctuation. We all make mistakes, i make a lot myself, but you'll be asked to edit any posts that seem sub par.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Oh okaay, sounds good to me :) I'll submit a character now,, thankyou!

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Emily, that's fine but i would recommend 'the friend', the main point with the Romantic is that she likes the Savior, playing off her guilt by treating him better. All the characters can have romances, the friend would probably be a better choice.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Hello, Anyway, I am roleplaying as the Follower and just thought I'd stop by and say Hi!

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Hey, I'd like to join but was wondering if it was okay to be another Romantic/Rebel? Obviously my character would not be in love with the saviour, but I would be totally cool with anyone else who wanted to have something going on with my character. Sorry, I'm just a bit of a sucker for romance :L

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Just so everyone knows the RP is still wide open, the Rhea and Baird thing isnt something that should affet the storry more then a bit of character development between them.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Yes, thats actually what i was aiming for. The cell is divided from the rest, its in the basement. Rhea isnt supossed to be down there :P You can wait it out until others submit their characters or you can RP with Sam, he has been running some tests on the Savior anyhow.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

So, I feel rather weird coming into a post wall of just Sarah's character and the Saviour, so do you think we could have the other characters start apart and join up later?

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Tell everyone about the RP guys! Call in all your friends who have been looking for a RP or any friends at all!

The faster we fill out a few more positions, the faster we can get started!

Lets go!

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Sorry to hear it Alan, the Impostor role isnt out of the question, it was just a recommendation ;) If you believe you can play him well, ill at least give you a chance.

To everyone else, please follow Sarah's lead and post your approximate schedule

Also, i have the savior character up. Please look at it as an example to base your's off of.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

These are the times I'll most likely to be online in GMT+0 time, 'cause I live in the UK :)

Monday-Thursday - 5-9PM
Friday - 5-12PM
Saturday-Sunday - 1-12PM (Depends what I'm doing on the weekend) :D

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

No, the extortionist role is not one I'd enjoy at all. I already considered it and abandoned it. Thanks for your consideration, but I think I'll pull out. Good luck with the RP though.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Ill take a look Alan. I think a position as the extortionist would be better suited for you, take a look. He is very similar to the impostor, he is just open about his beliefs and is doing it for money, not the girl ;)

Everyone, please take a look at the recently added characters and rules.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

LeBeau, I'm totally happy for you to check my other posts here to make sure I am suitable to play an imposter - a perfectly reasonable precaution for such an important character. However, I do have to tell you that I am often away at weekends, which means a posting gap between Saturday morning and Sunday morning (US time) which could work against me being able to do justice to the role, especially if there's chat sessions involved. If this is an issue let me know, and I quite understand I'll have to relinquish the role to someone else.

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

I have a couple announcements for everyone looking to join

After checking with me on this topic, please submit a bio for the character you chose using the 'Characters' tab.

Also, please submit an approximate schedule along with your timezone. We may be having scheduled chat sessions for the faster paced scenes in combination with longer forum posts for the slower moving / more critical scenes.

Last note, i'll be needing a Co-GM. If you are interested, please contact me and let me know. Id prefer if the CO-GM be reserved for someone playing a pivotal character (The Leader, Impostor, Extremist, Lawful, ect)

Link: roleplay/convictions-of-the-faithful/

Re: [OOC] Convictions of the Faithful

Nope, the leader is all yours. Like the impostor, the leader also plays a very important role so there should be some sort of collaboration between us before any big move (Killing the savior, killing a member of the group, ect) Being a mentor, im sure you can do the character justice.

We may have to end up having people play multiple characters, but i dont really mind it. If anything, i prefer it. Less writers means better collaboration. If you could take either a Romantic or a Extremist as well, it would be greatly appreciated. Lets wait and see what other characters people show interest in before we choose.

For now, ill reserve you the Leader.
