Arron Morgan

Part-time Employee at Haven General Hospital

0 · 285 views · located in Haven City

a character in “Cursed Haven”, as played by SpartanWolf

Description

Name: Arron Morgan

Age: 28

Status: Unstable

Ability: Pyrokinesis, The ability to create, control or absorb fire, unfortunatley the limits of Arrons power thus far are that he can only generate fire with very little control over its direction of flow. Absorption isn't a huge problem as that is a passive benefit of his ability and like more Pyrokinetics he is resistant to any form of fire or heat anyways. The major downside of use of this power is that an other corrupt human with control over water, ice or the likes would easily defeat him in or out of combat. Several other issues are that he cannot create fire without the necessary elements and when his power spirals out of control the tempature around him shoots up so quickly that within 10 minutes if he was standing on a road it would begin to melt. Arron himself is unable to stop his powers unless he is knocked unconscious, one of the conditions above occurs or he runs out of energy.

Arron's power charges like a battery would so after using his powers and pretty much exhausting them he has to wait for them to build up again. Depending on the heat it's recharge rate changes, The hotter it is around him the faster his power builds up whilst the colder it is the slower it charges. Even in extreme colds his power will build up, just at an very slow rate. Like most batteries there is a limit to how much energy he can store and so when his energy stored has reached it's limit his powers will begin to overflow until he runs out of energy or another route has been taken to stop his powers.

The conditions in which his ability will surface are as follows:
-Strong or extreme emotions like anger, excitement, love, sadness etc
-Supressing his ability for more than 2 weeks
-When he feels pain or threatened
-During an emotional/mental breakdown
-When shocked or surprised
-Attempting to use and control his power on purpose
-When and if he catches a cold or similar illness

It could easily be said that Arron is extremely unstable for several reasons. The main being that activation of his ability is very easy to trigger and often leads to catastrophic consequences. Because Arron is constantly Supressing all emotions and acting depressed these feelings and such build up and at points Arron in known to have an emotional breakdown and let his powers go wild. Also, catching a cold doesn't lead to a full outburst but during this period of illness every sneeze or cough produces a fireball or something similar. Arron tries his hardest to conceal and control this power and every week or so will take the train out into the country side. Whilst he is alone he tries to release all the emotional stress and Pyrokinetic energy he has stored up so in the city it is much safer.

Description: Arron stands at around 5'10, weighs in at just over 120 lb and has pale white skin. His hair is black and fairly short, barely coming down past his ears. His natural eye color is dark brown but the contacts he wears makes them seem dark blue. Yet despite this he still wear glasses, mainly because they make him seem smarter and give some eye protection. The other main feature which many notice is his trench coat which comes down past his knees. He refuses to be seen without this dark green coat and very rarely takes it off.

Occupation: Former employee of the H.O.D.A, Now works part time at Haven General Hospital

Personality

Arron is a very timid man, He keeps to himself and has never given much thought to relationships or the likes. He isn't necessarily quiet or shy and he enjoys socializing with others but isn't very trusting. His hobbies include scouring through the country side with his metal detector, cooking and creating chemical reactions. He never intended to take up cooking or metal detecting as a hobby but because he had a lot of free time on his hand whilst going through college an associate convinced him to take it up. Arron also took up smoking during this time and as much as he has tried to ditch this addiction he has found himself unable to. He also has the bad habit of pointing out peoples flaws when agitated or annoyed.

Equipment

He carries very little around, A set of keys in his right pocket and a wallet in his left. occasionally he decides to carry around his phone but most of the time it is turned off or out of charge.

History

Arron's past is very boring, there wasn't much that made him different from any other person. His parents raised him as they though was right and made sure he had a good education. Throughout his primary education Arron was known to be one of the smartest students in his school, in all subjects his grades were almost as high as was possible. Even after moving into secondary education Arrons grades were the highest in his all classes, only for the first few years however. In his fourth year of secondary education his grades dropped, going from perfect to what could be called just above average. A few of the teachers were concerned about this and an Arron was interveiwed by his head teacher about this sudden change in grades. But even after several sessions of questioning Arron wouldnt reveal a thing. It was only realised after some investigation out of school by one of the teachers that the boys home had burnt down a few months after he had turned 16. Arron knew the cause, He had had no control or idea what was going on the first time he used his power. It was a stupid reason, getting angry over a mathematical equation he spent hours on only to find out it was impossible to solve. This anger had triggered his power for the first time and whilst it was still in its weaker stages the flames had been enough to start a fire which consumed him whole home.

When given the chance Arron left haven and traveled elsewhere. He moved to a much smaller town where he started a course in medicine and ended up graduating from the university with a degree in psychology.

Arron worked as an employee at a H.O.D.A office for a good amount of time. His many courses involving psychology and such had given him the opportunity to join the department and work with various new people. His job had mainly consisted of interrogation of suspected corrupted humans then adding their information to the departments databases. This job served as an excellent disguise as to his own ability and status as well as providing a good income. He managed to maintain this position for a few years before a certain suspect enraged him to the point that he went over his limit. His power exposed itself and Arron was immediately fired. He wasn't going to chance going back to the place as the only reason he hadn't been held with their facilities was because he had good relations with other staff.

So Arron moved on, He got a job at a nearby hospital and tried to avoid the H.O.D.A completely. Over the years Arron dedicated a lot of his time away from work trying to figure out a way to control his powers and during this research he learned very little, the only major discovery was the fact that his powers wouldn't work in the rain. But this knowledge wasn't enough for Arron. He wanted to know more and so moved back to his home in Haven and got himself a part time job at a hospital. His main goal was to learn more about these supernatural abilities through experience and his research.

So begins...

Arron was pulled from his dreaming by a strong vibration that shook his whole apartment. The room seemed to lurch to one side and Arron was relucantly pulled from his bed sheets and thrown to the floor. Before he had a chance to get up from the rotting wooden floor and to his feet he found himself bombarded by cigarette packets and various books of medicine, all falling from the shelf above his bed which he had told himself a countless number of times to remove or at least secure. Under the pile of paper the man groaned, letting out a heavy sigh before emerging from the heap. It seemed that one morning too many started off like this and such chaotic happenings were becoming more frequent around the old secondhand apartment he called home.

As Arron got to his feet he looked towards the window, expecting to see something that might indicate what time it was. Unfortunatley the window had been borded up so tightly not even a single ray of light crept through. Next he would normally check his mobile but he knew that it had ran out of charge after it had cut out halfway through a call between his boss and himself last night. With nothing else to do he pulled on some clean clothes and his lab coat then stumbled through the apartments to emerge in a long narrow alley. As he made his way through these slums he glanced upwards only to realise that the area he was in was sheltered, metal sheets bridging across the gaps and boarding out sunlight like it were an enemy. Arron himself didn't understand why he had decided to take up residence in such a dark place where the only illumination was from the occasional open window or lantern. As the tired and depressed man made his way down the street he couldn't help but swear, it had become routine that he scold him self for being so stupid and buying an apartment he cause it was cheap.

After making his way out of his area of residence or "Hells Road" as many called it he set off towards the city plaza. He had managed to figure out the time and had worked out that he was fortunate enough to still have a few hours before his shift started. He'd use this time and the money which he had to go and buy himself a packet or two of cigarettes, a box of breath mints and possibly a coffee nd sandwich. Arron had almost everything planned out, from the route he would take to how much money he would hand the staff working at the counters.

By cutting through several shortcuts and hitching a ride on the back of a supply truck passing by he managed to reach the plaza in just under a few minutes. As he made his way through the crowds towards the small store where he bought cigarettes he heard many things in the background that all blended to create a constant mumbling sound in the background. The sound of a siren pierced through this collage of background noise and Arron immediately turned his head to investigate, he couldn't see a thing though, the crowds blocked his vision so the only things he could see were billboards and advertisements plastered across the walls of buildings. From this spot he could also see his destination, a sign with neon red letter which said "Open". This was just the place that Arron had been looking for and he swiftly made his way through the crowds towards this destination.

" Stop you damned thief! You're under arrest! " shouted one of the two members of the local law enforcement as they pursued Jade relentlessly, and fruitlessly.

They were the ones called to deal with petty crimes, the kind not worth the time of those charged to deal with the unstables and many demons that still lurked in the city. They were made out to be every bit as important as members of the H.O.D.A but it was clear to everyone that that was not the case, it was easy to see by their enthusiasm or lack there of that they were underpaid, and under-appreciated. Most things like petty thievery they tended to look the other way if it seemed like too much effort to capture the offender but not for Jadae, he'd been a thorn in their sides for years, a thorn they tried desperately to pluck but they could never seem to catch him for he was always on his toes.

Jadae ran full sprint down the long street while dodging bits of glass and hurdling over or sliding under any and every obstacle along the way with the biggest smile and no signs of fatigue, which is much more that can be said for his pursuers who were drenched, heaving with ever step and falling further and further behind. To Jadae the pursuit was nothing more than a simple routine exercise because no matter how fast they came after him he could always run faster and further without tiring himself out, he had the stamina of race hoarse and it was impossible for him to ever run out of breath, in truth the cops never had a fair chance. Had he been born in a different time he would have been a natural born athlete even without the curse.

After about fifteen minutes the cops were long gone, either he left them behind or they did the smart thing and gave up hope
" They gunna need a miracle to catch me at this rate " he said as he slowed down to a casual jog.

Jadae passed up a depressed looking older man in a lab coat and he couldn't help but think of how fortunate he was, though he had no job or warm beds to sleep in at night he was happy, much happier than most of the gloomy citizens who did. He ducked into a empty, damp ally and plopped down on a large piece of cardboard laying on the ground and rested his back against the walls of the dumpy apartment buildings to count his spoils. 3 silver rings, one with a decent size red gem in the center and a gold watch, he made a good run and got himself enough to eat for more than a few days this time.

" You'd think they would see me coming with hair like this" he said to himself as he held up each ring, admiring his handy work. He knew one of these days they would wise up and start setting traps for him, of course he'd be to clever to fall for them but it was inevitable they would find some way to catch him eventually but that didn't stop him. With a life style like this he knew he'd have to pay the piper sooner or later and he would milk it for all it's worth as long as he was still physically able.

Arron tried to be quick as possible when shopping, It wasn't something he enjoyed and there had occasions before where a petty thief had stolen his wallet, often leading to an angry outburst. He didn't like to think about these outbursts though, he would come to it when it was an immediate issue but for now all he was concerned about was getting a smoke. After rummaging through the small carrier bag containing some strong mints and cigarettes He managed to get a grip on one of the cigarette packets and swiftly but subtly ripped through the seal as he pulled it out the bag. To light the cigarette he would need some sparks, he moved the carrier bag up his wrist and took a moment to look around. No one was looking straight at him, He thought he might be able to get away with a little spark at least. He held his fingers to the end of a cigarette he had taken from the packet before putting it away and rubbed them again each other, using the friction to make a small spark and light the cigarette. Arron sighed, glad that all he had made was a small spark, trying to creating anything bigger purposefully with often end up causing an explosion of some sort. With this cigarette and his other purchases he wandered across the plaza towards the cafe he usually ate at.

Out of the corner of his eye Arron caught a glimpse of a blond blur dashing into an alley followed by a taller, older man. He stopped in his tracks and watched through the crowd, waiting curiously for one of them to emerge. For just a moment he looked away and towards the cafe he had been heading towards. Whilst looking in this direction he inhaled some smoke then took a deeper breath before pulling the cigarette from between his lips and blowing a ring of smoke into the air. He hid a smile as he popped the cigarette back in between his lips, turning back to the alley he was so curious about.

After a minute or so had passed and several strangers had bumped into Arron he saw a girl leave the alley. He half expected the man to follow after her but was surprised when he didn't. At this point Arron began to make his way over to the alley, his expressions showing he was somewhat concerned and this facial feature didn't change at all. Even when he was walking past the blonde girl on the way to the alley and took the chance to take a look at her face his expression was the same, brow furrowed slightly. He kept on towards the dark alley and , resisting the temptation to run after the girl and stop her, stepped into the passage where he made his way towards a mass about the same size of a man sprawled out on the floor.

Arron dragged himself into the pub and without giving even a thought to his surroundings sat himself down on a stool at the bar. He called over the bartender and ordered a drink, thinking back to yesterdays events whilst waiting. He had found the man in the alley and after checking him over realized who he was, he remembered the mans face from a while back as he had been in the hospital several time. He was a low-life demon hunter whom had little to no talent in his profession. This was why that upon realizing this mans identity Arron was quick to flee the scene. There hadn't been all to much to be concerned about, The man was just asleep and when he woke up he would be able to take care of himself, no need to intervene.

After that he made his way to the cafe only to realize that the clock he had checked on the way to the plaza had been slow. So slow in fact that rather than having a few hours before work Arron had little under twenty minutes to get there. When this dawned upon him he quite literally jumped out his seat and knocked over several people as he sprinted through the plaza, towards his workplace. Nothing really exciting happened at his work, his boss had a rant at him for several hours and then he went on to do his duties. As a part time nurse most of Arron's duties included tending to patients needs, cleaning equipment, check ups and generally anything the doctors didn't want to do. By the time all these duties had been completed the night had passed and the sun was rising, signalling a new day for most of the residents of the city.

It was then that his little flashback was interrupted as because Arron was so caught up in his own little daydream he was somewhat surprised when a glass on beer skid across the table and toppled over his arm, spilling its contents all over himself and the counter. This shock yanked him back to reality and following a quick apology towards the bartender for making a mess Arron headed into the mens toilets to clean himself up.

Arron was really irritated by the sticky feeling which wrapped itself around his wrist. It was the result of his failed attempt at cleaning himself up after spilling the beer on himself and he hadn't felt much at all when he left the bathroom. It had only been when Arron had finished a pint of beer, payed for anything he'd drank or broken and had made it halfway to his destination that the feeling has arose. Fortunately Arron had such misfortunes cast upon him before and ,though rather annoying, such a trivial matter was not priority. There was something much more important than this he needed to do.

That something was a chore which Arron had assigned to himself upon his departure from his camp site out of the city a week or so ago. He had to buy more food, most of it had to be canned or frozen so it would last longer and what made this task so difficult was Arron's budget. As a part time nurse he was hardly paid much and with the amount he spent on smokes alone he was already pretty low on cash. This was why the first place Arron usually checked for supplies was the plaza, there were a few shops around there that sold the things he needed for cheap.

Upon arriving at the plaza Arron took a moment to look around. From the looks of things it seed as though It was slowly getting busier and if he didn't hurry then he would had to cope with the constant chatter, large crowds and possibly worse. Arron didn't particularly like the people in this area of the city, Most of them had their eyes glues to the screens of their phones whilst those whom didn't were gossiping or spreading rumours. Of course these descriptions didn't apply to everyone, just most of them and Arron could help but feel that it was unfair how they were so well treated and pretty much spoilt for doing nothing at all. If there was one thing Arron knew for sure it was during his childhood he wasn't spoilt like most of these kids were.

Arron had only bought one or two of the things he needed for his trip yet the cloth bag he held in his hand was already very heavy. It amazed him as to how much a few canned foods and cleaning supplie could weigh when bundled together like this. Because of the heavy bag Arrons arm was starting to ache, it felt as though his shoulder was about to pop out its socket and so to relieve himself of this pain he decided to set down the bag beside him. He was standing in one of the quieter corners of a super market, looking through their own cheap brand of electrical appliances that consisted mainly of flashlights, lamp, drills and other tools. Though as cheap as this equipment was Arron still couldn't buy it, he didn't see the point in buying things he would just break.

Arron closed his eyes and lets his muscles go slack for a moment, letting a heavy sigh part from between his lips as memories of occasions where he had broken equipment like this flashed through his mind. Such a waste of money... He should have known better back then. Fortunately by now he had learned from these mistakes and that's why he didn't buy these sort of things. After this brief recollection Arron remembered his task and began to go over a mental checklist of what he still needed to buy. He needed to focus on this and so kept his eyes closed, finding it easier when there was one less factor in the equation which resulted in a distraction from his tasks.

Arron had moved on since he stopped to look at some electrical appliances, he had worked his way through various stores. At each store he would try to buy at least one item he needed, ticking it off his list and adding it to the bag which he had to drag around. Eventually all the excerize from dragging around this shopping and the fairly humid tempature got to him. Arron was forced stopped for a five minute break, to recuperate and get himself a drink. It wasn't so much the heat that got to him but rather dehydration. So once Arron had downed a can of juice he was almost straight back on his feet.

The next thing on Arrons list after his break was buying some extra cigarettes for his trip. The store which Arron bought these cigarettes at was having a sale on cleaning supplies so he also bought a two wash cloths and various cleaning supplies. They had been on sale and he'd needed things for washing at home. He would probably keep one of the cloths on his person take it to his camp. He wiped his forehead with said cloth and stuffed it back into a bag as he made his way across the plaza towards a supermarket that knew sold large bottle of water. He was set food-wise for the journey, he had made sure of that when he found a shop that was having a sale on such items. His next steps after he had gotten some water were to head to the hospital and borrow some medical supplies. Just in case of injuries or infections he liked to have bandages, pain killers and antibiotics on hand.

Arron stumbled through the open doorway and into a room which now seated two civilians, one boy and one girl. There was a awkwards silence as Arron froze, only his eyes moved to look from the newcomers to the box in his hand. It was just a boring old cardboard box he had filled with bandages and various other basic medical supplies. Arron took a step towards them and set the box down on an empty table, above a large rucksack tucked underneath which belonged to him and contained camping supplies. Earlier he had seen a stretcher being rushed into one of the other rooms nearby and Dr. Gloria exiting from said room. He had also seen the doctor exiting this room so he assumed there might be some relation between the patient through there and these two civilians. As a nurse it was his job to help out with these things as best he can, even when of duty. He looked towards the concerned duo then straightened his posture and took a deep breath before speaking. "Excuse me, Is there something I can help you with?".

Cato sat down, practically ignoring the nurse, he didn't have time for all these test. Will was probably still fighting that demon, he couldn't just leave him out there. Still, he couldn't use his powers to escape, the H.O.D.A. would be on him in an instant with all the cameras . He frowned, he'd have to just hope Will could hold his own for now, its not like he was a stranger to fighting demons. Even so, he still had a bad feeling, why couldn't the doctors just let them go?

Green eyes fluttered open, only to squeeze shut when she felt something pierce her skin and remain there. Eventually that sharp pain became faint, and she reopened her eyes. "W-where..." She began, only trailing off when she realized there was a oxygen mask over her mouth. The bright light of the room caught her off guard, squinting to see the silhouetted figure with his mask. "It seems you've met with some unfortunate events, but don't worry. You'll fine, nothing to bad, a mild concussion, but you'll live."

She nodded dumbly, still a bit confused with everything. The doctor left her side, and she was left to think by herself. She was just attacked by a demon... A demon. She visibly shuddered, hoping that no one saw the movement. Those two... didn't they bring her to the hospital? She moved her head to look at the door, managing to catch the sight of the nurse speaking to the male student. She sighed, they were still here? She barely-scratch that- didn't even know them. Now she began to wonder what happen to the other man, he wiped her blood onto him, she simply hoped he was still in one piece.

She closed her eyes for a second, wondering how long they'd keep her here. She may have injuries, yet she was a corrupted. Could it be those rumors? The ones saying that those registered corrupted in the H.O.D.A will begin testing on her? Will they just lock her away? She bit her lip, hoping to god nothing happens to her. She never wanted to be come this in the first place.
