Haley Mason is by no means the rookie on the task force. She's been trained as a negotiator, dealing with the riffraff that shooting them would mean wasting bullets. She was recruited by her father, a top operative in the higher ups of supernatural control. If it were up to her she'd have stepped aside to let her younger sister's fill the family legacy so she could do what she wanted, particularly becoming a biologist focusing on the supernatural. She's a reserved woman, barely 23 and already respected among the team members as a strong leader and a cunning conversationalist. She can swap banter with the best of them and isn't afraid to do it.
