Dawn Carter's Story

Dawn gave Terra a weary smile and nodded
"yes i'm Dawn, who else calls you the jolly green giant?" Dawn looked at him questionable and shook her head.

"ok you see i ran into the woods because i was.....umm angry and as i was walking i hear voices so i wanted to know what they were you know i was curious but then something picked me up and took me away from the noises. When i looked at what it was it was the spirit of the forest or the spirit of Artemis it...she gave me the little remaining powers she had and i guess cause she's also the goddess of beast i got ears and a tail....now i know why i ran so much faster.... never mind that but see look" Dawn put out her arm and showed Terra the underside of her forearm were the symbol of Artemis was. The crescent moon.

Terra Alkaine

"wait seriously lucky so now you have two elements in you" he said with disbelief but was soon proved wrong when he saw the symbol of Artemis on the underside of her forearm.

"hmm that is indeed rather indeed an interesting story my dear, did you see where Artemis went or is she gone" a hint of sadness in Apiatans voice.

"No Apaitan i'm sorry she was to weak she disappeared once she gave me the rest of her powers" Dawn said sadly.
Trying to lighten up the mood Dawn looked to Terra who had a look of awe on his face, Dawn giggled

"so how's training going?" She asked

Terra Alkaine

it seemed that Apiatan visibly deflated a little before speaking again "well I must discuss this with Zeus now I shall leave it up to you Terra whether you wish to continue or not with your training for today" and he walked away towards Zeus.

"well training is going well I guess though its a bit boring only being able to move the earth" a frown coming on his face before suddenly he sat up quickly and stood up a smile on his face. "oh that's right hey I want you to meet someone" he placed his hand on her shoulder and led her away a bit before walking back.

Terra took the small pouch from his neck and opened it to drop its contents to the ground. s ingle glowing rock fell out, the moment it touched the ground it sank into the earth. a low rumbling could be heard as the earth began to shift and move, a mound had begun to form where the rock had been.

soon the mound broke free from the rest of the ground as limbs became distinguishable from the rest of its huge body its craggy head had two small glowing eyes of lava. the ground stopped rumbling and what stood before them was a 10foot monster of earth. Terra grinned like a child and waved his hand fro dawn to come closer "don't worry he wont hurt you, Dawn this is Golem, Golem this is Dawn a friend".

Dawn looked in awe at the creature.
"wow" she said quietly and without thinking about it ,grabbed onto Terra's hand for support.
"he's.....amazing" she stood there, her mouth hung open in shock. Gulping she slightly stood behind Terra, even though he said he wouldnt hurt he it was still huge and kinda scary.

"hello" she whispered

Olive stepped back from the block of metal that she had been shaping. With a bit of willpower and some powerful punches, it had begun to take on the shape of a wolf. She had heard the low grumble of the earth moving and then the sound of excited voices. Deciding now was a stood a time as any to take a break, and dusted the metal shavings from her clothes.

She walked to the earth training grounds and peered around the crescent wall Terra had made and saw Dawn with ears and a tail. "Wish, how'd you get those?" Olive exclaimed having missed the conversation in which Dawn explained.

Dawn looked over to see Olive staring at her ears and tail, making Dawn blush
"ummm well you see i ran into the woods because i was angry and as i was walking i hear voices so i wanted to know what they were you know i was curious but then something picked me up and took me away from the noises. Terra Alkaine

he squeezed her hand as a sign of reassurance before he gently pushed her towards Golem, but it seemed in her nervousness tripped Golem who in turn appeared to have bent down a little a large earthy hand reached out to Dawn, placing one large finger against her chest to keep her from falling. his head then opened up as he spoke "Hello....Friend" his voice sounded like rocks grinding against each other. the way he spoke sounded very slow as if it was difficult for him to speak in the human tongue without actually having a tongue.

Terra then heard a voice behind him and turned his head to see Olive. he waved at her to join them giving her a welcoming smile in hopes she wouldn't run away from the sight of Golem.

Terra Alkaine

he smiled kindly at how well Golem interacted with Dawn and he could tell that Golem liked Dawn. Golem began to move a bit to look at Olive, so Dawn walked over to him hugging his waist to keep her balance. Terra raised his arms as he didn't expect her to do this but put them down again, but by then she released him blushing a little as she apologized.

"sorry for what, there's no need to apologize" patting her head. Golem seeing this was curious and reached out and patted Terra on the head but because of his huge size and unbelievable strength he made Terra fall backwards. at this Golem drew back his hand surprisingly fast and let out a low rumble that sounded sad " sorry" looking back at Terra.

Terra smiled his hand reached up towards Golems as he drew his own hand back, he chuckled lightly "ah don't worry Golem there's no need to apologize big guy your fine" standing back up Terra brushed himself off. then turning towards Olive "so how has training gone for you Olive"

Dawn giggled at Golem's reaction. She knew he would never hurt Terra and seeing Terra smile so happy made Dawn happy. She looked back at Golem to see he looked sad and guilt cause he thought he hurt Terra.

"its alright Golem you didnt hurt him, Terra's a big boy" Dawn smiled sweetly at the creature and walked over to him. He was so tall. Gently she hugged his leg then quickly let go. Her white shirt was now dirty with dirt but she didnt care. She then looked at Golem in more detail and she spoke her mind.

"I would love to try and paint a picture of you.....that is if you wouldnt mind Terra" she blushed at her childish behavior and turned to Terra and smiled. The Zeus booming voice echoed threw the skies.

"Children it is getting late practice is over, we will have dinner then you should all get an early nights sleep" Zeus commanded looking down at Dawn.

"and Dawn darling about the ears and tail, Apaitan explained to me what happened and all you need to do is visualize your normal form" Zeus said softly. After Dawn getting mad at him he didnt want a repeat, he knew she was strong and scolded himself for doubting her.

"Alright" Dawn nodded and focus, visualizing herself normal. It took a good 5 minutes but soon Dawn could here the sounds of cracking bone, she got a head ache and a sharp pain ran up her spine. She bit her lip until the pain disappeared and she opened her eyes and looked at Zeus.

"there gone and we should be going to, come children the temple is just up the hill if Terra or Golem dont mind you may ride him there and Golem may come into the temple" Zeus said then started walking to the temple.

"Oh, that sounds curius." Olive said at Dawn's explanation. Something was going on here that was strange, and.Olive's all consuming thirst for knowledge wouldn't let it rest. She pushed it to the back of her mind assuring herself that she would investigate later and focused on what was going on in front of her.

The Golem in front of her garbled as he spoke and she, seeing no harm in this creature, said hello to him and shook his rock hand. It seemed to like her and she smiled. Terra asked how her training was going and she responded. "Athena's teaching me to shale the metal now," she said pointing to her field where her metal rendition could be seen. " I think the wolf's snout is a bit off really." She said studying it from afar.

As she was talking, Zeus announced it was time to eat. She was starving, so she welcomed the dinner invitation . She waited for Dawn to change back and they all headed to the temple together.

Terra Alkaine

he looked to where Olive pointed seeing the metal wolf "thats cool maybe i should try that and i think it looks fine so no worries" patting her on the shoulder as he let the girls ead the way to the dining hall.

the dining hall was huge with colomns lining the open sides, so one could see outside. the ceiling well there didnt seem to be a ceiling of any kind but the sky despite the fact that it had begun to rain gently outside there wasnt a single drop of water in the grand hall. "whoa" was all Terra could say as his gaze swept across the room and spoted a mini waterfall that made a pool of shimmering clear water, that a woman stopped at filling goblets full of the sparkling water.

Terra sat besides Apiatan, like everyone else who sat next to their god. he grabbed a plate of food and began to eat watching the others as they ate, the room was buzzing with activity as the elements talked with their god or the person across from them.

Dawn was quiet and left dinner early. She was tried and also felt uneasy.
There was to many people, to much talking, to many noises. Her shy nature had returned and it didnt her no good but it couldnt be helped.
She walked the dark hallways, looking for the bedrooms when she looked into a room that had stacks of books and instruments everywhere. A grand white piano was on the far side of the room but Dawns eyes lit up.
She walked over to the piano, the lights were off in the room but there was a large window letting in the light of the moon. She at at the piano and started playing a tune her mother taught her when she was young. Dawn's father owned a music store when Dawn was young and showed her how to play every instrument in the store. She played Titanuim and softly sang to it. This is what she enjoyed most, it didnt matter how comfortable she felt around a person she always loved to be alone.

Terra Alkaine

he noticed that Dawn left early but guessed she was tired from what has happened today, so he didn't go after her. Terra talked a little more with Apiatan before leaving, Golem had returned to his smaller form and was nothing more than a small rock inside the pouch that hung around Terra's neck.

Terra walked some his hands laced behind his head as he began to wonder the moonlight halls, a serene smile on his face, eyes closed he didn't really pay attention where he was going. he passed right by the room Dawn was in but when he heard her singing softly he retraced his steps and stood in the doorway. leaning against the door frame he watched as Dawn sang softly to a song he knew all to well Titanium, his head moved with the rhythm of the song.

he would have gone inside but he was afraid he would interrupt Dawn's alone time and guessing from the look of utter joy and peace on her face he most definitely did not to ruin her moment. so with that Terra walked away, heading back to their rooms, once he got there he walked to the bed Dawn had hid behind earlier and growled a little remembering what Hunter did to Dawn. 'no what am I thinking its not like she's my girlfriend or something but..' he quickly shook hiss head to keep anymore impure thoughts out of his head, but then what did you expect an 18 year old to think about. sighing Terra took off his shirt, revealing a lean body covered in scars and a large tattoo that wound its way across his back and towards his chest.

he walked to a dresser with nothing but his pants and looked through the clothes that were inside, after finding one that looked big enough to wear his slipped it on. its collar was low showing off his collar bones, he then put on some white pants the material was light and extremely soft. Terra smiled as he ran his fingers through his hair then walked to the bed and sat down, his right hand traced the edges of his eye patch before they clutched it and he slipped the eye patch off. his right eye was heavily scarred, a ragged line that ran through his eye brow, down and across his face from there, the scar was why his right eye was now permanently kept closed as it prevented him from seeing through it anymore. he then laid out on his back before bringing his legs up towards his chest then on his side. his arms provided for a pillow as he soon fell asleep his right eye visible but his left obscured by his black hair.

Dawn finished her song and stood up yawning. She headed out of the room but not before noting that she would have to rememebr where it was located then walked to the bedrooms were all the Elements slept. Opening the door quietly she saw a dark figure laying in on of the beds and she quickly saw it was Terra. He was shivering slightly cause the window was open and the brezze was blowing directly on him so she grabbed the blanket from her bed and draped it over him. She caught slight of his eye and gasped.

'who could do such a thing' she thought sadly and without realizing it had moved closer to him until she was kneeling by his head. She reached her hand out and stroked his hair away from his eyes, the on was scarred badly. She felt bad for him but his scar reminded her of her scar on her back. Sighing softly she made sure he was warm then subconiously kissed his forehead. Blushing at her actions she was glad he was asleep. Going tot he dresser beside Terra's where Zeus had put some clothes for her she took off her t shirt and searched around until she found a big shirt that went down to her knees. She put it on then stripped off her pants and socks, then folded everything and put it back in the dresser. Yawning she head to the bed beside Terra's and cuddled into a ball, pulling the shirt over her knee's since she didnt have a blanket. Yawning she tried to sleep but just couldn't sleep evaded her so she just lay there staring outside the window her thoughts always straying back to the scar on her back.

Terra Alkaine

Terra felt something brush against his forehead and the first thought that went through his mind was his mother. then he remembered he was no longer with his mother, she was gone now. he opened his eyes and saw the what looked to be Dawns back as she lay curled in a ball in her bed. he slowly sat up making sure she didn't hear him, that's when he noticed the blanket that wasn't there before. 'was this Dawns doing-wait if she did then she must have seen-' his hand wen straight for his right eye and he looked away from Dawn who now knew what his eye looked like.

he slowly slipped out of bed, taking the blanket with him. when he reached Dawns bed he threw the blanket over her not really caring if it settled on her correctly, because at the moment he was a bit irritated why he wasn't quite sure. "here you look cold" then realizing she was still awake he sat at the foot of her bed folding his hands on hiss knee as if he was deep in thought as he leaned forwards before glancing at her "cant sleep?" looking at her though his bangs did obscure his eyes from view.

"no i cant" she said softly, sitting up in the bed. Terra's body was tense and even though he hide his face from her she could see a look of irritation on his face. He was quiet but his voice was cold.
"have i done something wrong?" she asked puzzled but noticed that he never looked up at her. He he mad she saw his eye?

"are you mad at me cause i saw your eye? i'm sorry Terra i didn't know you felt so strongly about people not seeing it" she spoke quietly.
"i kinda know how you feel" she whispered, hoping he wouldn't hear her. She grabbed her necklace and nervously twirled it around in her fingers. She knew she should show Terra her scar because she show his but the memories of her father beating her almost to death flashed in her mind and she whimpered quietly, tears springing to her eyes as she remember the bloody scenes.

"i'm sorry"

his head shot up in surprise as he turned to face her his hand reaching out to her "wait why are you sorry-" he noticed the tears in her eyes and looked away "I should be the one saying sorry, I made you cry and a guy doesn't make a girl cry" laughing nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"if you think I'm mad I'm not though I guess I am a little irritated. its just that I don't like being pitied, I've lived my whole life with people pitying me because of how I lived and I'm tired of it" he sighed looking up at the ceiling. his hand traced his scar gently before he spoke again "can I tell you how I got this scar Dawn, I know it's kind of late, well actually it is late" laughing a little" I just want you to know the meaning behind it" turning to face her again.

"it wouldnt feel right if you just told me your story and it wasnt you who made me cry......i to have a mark on my body i hate being pitied for to" she began then cleared her throat

"you tell me your story and.....well i'll tell you mine.....only if you want to hear it that is" she quickly said the last part

"please begin and dont worry about what time it is im not really tried anymore" she smiled and waited for him to begin

Terra Alkaine

"right fair is payment" he said softly he then cleared his throat and began his story.

"before i came here when i was younger i lived with my mom my whole life, never knew my dad, life was hard for the both of us especially her. i was at fault on that one because no matter what i did trouble would always follow me. i was bullied most of my childhood, imagine the stress i gave my mom whenever her only kid came home from school bloodied and torn nearly everday. then came middle school which eventually became high school, but it was all the same, alway bullied the one diffrence for me in high school was that now the big guys saw me, this huge giant of a kid, and they thought "hey he looks good we should have him join us" all that poinless crap that i hated. of course i knew they only wanted to use me so i did the obvious thing i said no each and everytime.

eventually i would come back home all beat up from fights but i can assure you i never laid a single blow. im not saying i was too weak to get back at them but rather it wasnt the way my mom taught me to live. eventually with each school year the fights got worse and worse, they started using weapons and other means of trying to break me. if they couldnt have me no one can, i had already gone to the hospital so often the nurses actually knew me by name and always kept a room just for me" he chuckled lightly before his expression turned a bit dark as he continued Terra then briefly stood up and rolled up his shirt to show Dawn his heavily scarred back before sitting back down "one day it got really bad this time they planned on killing me and they nearly did, the only diffrence was my mom was there and she made the mistake of trying to save me. and seeing this made me so angry i tried to fight back to keep them from hurting her but they hurt her anyways. i couldnt do a single thing, and by then they already cut my face in an attempt to stop me.

they messed her up so bad, but when they realized what they did they ran and i let them because what was important to me wasnt them but my mom who lay there bleeding out on the ground. that day my mom died while i was in the ER her lung had collapsed, and it was thanks to her that i didnt get hurt as badly as her, never in my entire life had i ever felt so useless and alone. losing my right eye didnt help me at all but it made me realize one thing for sure. I never want to feel that way again" while talking Terra's body tensed and had begun to shake with anger, fear and sorrow, tears dropped to his clenched fist but they only came from one side his left.
